Tell A Soul with Hannah Alter

Tell a Soul is a space for radical honesty, self-trust and the courage to be seen without the mask.Hosted by artist and songwriter Hannah Alter (Leonelle), this podcast is rooted in a deeper mission: bringing people closer to their truest selves beneath the performance, protection, and patterns created to feel loved, safe or chosen.Through candid reflection, spirituality, emotional healing, attachment patterns, relationships and the deeper truths we uncover when we stop abandoning ourselves for connection, these conversations explore the beauty, freedom and expansion that exist on the other side of the feelings we’ve spent our lives avoiding. These episodes are raw, unfiltered and deeply human. Less polished answers, more real conversations about what it means to awaken to yourself. If you’ve ever felt exhausted from performing, shape-shifting, or trying to be chosen… this space is for you.

Bragging Might Be the Most Healing Thing You Do Today

In this episode, I unpack a moment when I was invited to explore a growth edge: bragging. I discovered how uncomfortable it felt to speak about my wins for "too long." I get into the cultural conditioning around self-praise, why we've been taught it's too much, and the healing that came from being witnessed in it intentionally, in a safe container where I could actually feel what came up and be present with it.This is an invitation to witness yourself, and others, in self-praise and to consider what becomes possible when we stop dimming our light to keep the people around us comfortable.

The Wall I Built Around My Music

Late night ramble fresh off a listening party. I've missed music. Being in a room full of artists tonight was a reminder. On this episode I talked about taking a break, the wall I was carrying for so long, the EP I made but never released and the middle school poser that still lives in my head. I'm so excited for what's to be created from this new place in my life.

You Deserve To Be Seen In Your Process

F-ck it. In the episode I explore experiencing the healing that comes with being witnessed in my process. We’ve been conditioned to believe we have to show up already having the answers - or at least looking like we do. That we need to have it all together before we’re worthy of being heard. But the most powerful thing you can do is show up exactly where you are.I explore my freeze response and the ending of a work relationship that technically was a creative match, but felt consistently inconsistent (and therefore not good), so I had to let it go. All with love. And about why “I don’t know” might be the most powerful thing any of us can say.

    Doing The Thing Creates Self-Trust

In this episode, I go into what even is the point of sharing vulnerably, sharing online at all.I talk about a realization from a Kabbalistic astrology reading and how I thought I was pouring my heart and soul into things, only to realize that sometimes we don’t even recognize the ways we’re still hiding. I also get into the idea of esteemable acts creating self-esteem, and how we often bullshit ourselves into avoiding the most important thing in our day because that thing usually rubs up against our deepest fears and core wounds. And maybe the thing I’m learning most right now: it’s in honestly admitting where we are and giving ourselves genuine compassion and gentleness that we actually gain the courage to do the thing. This is foreign for so many of us because we were conditioned to believe we need to criticize, shame, or “whip ourselves into shape” in order to change.Turns out gentleness and love is much more efficient.
