Leadership & Civility: Terrier Talks with GCPL
Professor James Thompson, Ph.D. is the director of the James A. Garfield Center for Public Leadership. He joined the podcast this week alongside two GCPL students, Luke Mackall '27 and Ben Rainone '27. We discuss GCPL's mission and structure, recent international trip to Switzerland, and the responsibilities of student leaders. --------------------------- The Garfield Center for Public Leadership is accepting applicants for the 25-26 academic year. Community, Chili, and Conversations with Americorps: Jasmine Thompson & Reyna Polley
Reyna Polley '25 and Jasmine Thompson '25 brought their community spirit to this week's episode. In conversation with Lorna and Adam, the duo shared how Americorps's partnership with Hiram College has built a place for students of all backgrounds. With over two hundred students in the past year alone making their way into the office, it was time to invite our Americorp students BACK for a second episode highlighting everything the office offers. From food to hair care, chili & cornbread, and opportunities for students to involve themselves in service, Americorps shines and serves.

Meet Hiram's AmeriCorps Service Members!
This week, Lorna and Lina sit down with Jared Lapointe and Jasmine Thompson, two of Hiram's AmeriCorps Service Members! AmeriCorps staffs the Student Resource Center and manages the HAPPI Place (Hiram Access Pantry for Personal Items). The AmeriCorps Service Center works to remove nonacademic barriers for students. The Center offers help to students connecting with local and on-campus resources like counseling, emergency funding, transportation and more.
