Our good friend Monty Murry was our guest this morning and as old as we are we thought we knew what you should do if you are in an auto accident. Monty brought us the "5 Myths of Auto Accidents" and we missed every one of them! Plus, we have some fun because we didn't know how many Ironman Triathlons he has competed in, the ballroom and country dancing addictions, and so much more!

This morning Ms. Jenny Walker is with us talking about the full circle with Leadership Texarkana and the Chamber of Commerce. We had a lot of fun, and learned a lot!

Les Munn joined us this morning and Jeff didn't ask any of his prepared questions. Instead, they talked about Flock Cameras, Law Enforcement, and had a real good time. Check out this conversation!

We get the state of the state this morning as Wes fills us in on efforts to get Texarkana's local radio stations back on the air. The streams are still up and cranking, 3 stations are back on air, and we get an optimistic timeline for the remaining four stations.

This weekend's Lightning Storm on Saturday claimed the transmitter site of six local radio stations. The first strike threw the overload arrestors, and the second strike set equipment on Fire. Huge shoutout to the Wake Village Fire Department, SWEPCO, and all that assisted. The stations will be back on the air as soon as possible!

Local radio "legend" Mario Garcia joins us this morning to discuss more than five decades of local radio, and what is to come.

Cedric Allen is a Mass Communications student at Texas A&M University - Texarkana. He is doing an internship with us and here is his on air debut. This is just another example of why local radio matters. National Corporations don't generally create opportunities like this. They don't bring students into the studio, let them learn the business, cover local events, and become the next generation of broadcasters. If we are serious about keeping local voices on local radio, we have to invest in young people like Cedric. That's how this radio business will survive.

Today on Texarkana Talks, I sat down with local entertainer and entrepreneur Darryl Miller for a fascinating conversation about magic, business, and giving back to the community. Darryl shared stories from his journey studying under legendary masters of illusion — including the great Bobo — and how those experiences shaped his craft into one of the region’s standout magic acts.We also talked about another side of Darryl’s world — offering one of the largest selections of inflatables in the area and helping families create memorable events. And with fireworks season here, Darryl explained how his annual fireworks business does more than celebrate Independence Day — it helps support his dog rescue nonprofit and gives back to animals in need.From sleight of hand to second chances, this was a fun conversation about passion, community, and turning talent into purpose.

From the tragic loss of her son in his battle with combat related PTSD came "Ben's Heart Ministry" and with God, this mission has grown more than ever imagined. Ben's Heart Ministries is a non-profit organization made up of Veterans and Veterans' families providing support to veterans and veterans' families. Taking on the additional responsibilities they have taken on with "Honor Guard" duties, the ministry is in need of equipment. Help if you can!
