That Which You Can Do Without

“That Which You Can Do Without” is a collection of what I view as the best nine songs I’ve written in the past five years or so. They’re deeply personal stream-of-consciousness compositions, and now I’ve finally found the time to record them. The songs represent what I was going through emotionally as I became more of a public person, and the insights and feelings that came with that. It's a dreamy album about hope, forgiveness, and letting go.In an era where AI keeps taking over every creative process, I decided to go in the opposite direction. I recorded all the songs live in my home studio, so these are one-take versions, with me singing and playing guitar simultaneously. Honesty was the goal, as I believe the main purpose of music is to communicate feelings honestly, in a way mere words simply cannot. After I was done recording, I gave the tracks to my brother Erik, who is an excellent composer and musician (currently the only formally educated one in our family)
