The 12 inches of Love Show
by Matt Blaze
This podcast is to showcase all of the 12" mixes, remixes, extended versions, dub versions, acapellas, and instrumentals that you only heard in clubs and barely on the radio from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Nowadays every song that hits the top 40 has anywhere from 5-15 different versions remixed and produced by a slew of different producers essentially making an entirely different version from the original. The 12" versions from the 70's, 80's and 90's didn't have that. There was one 12" record that came out. It may only be an extended version where they added a few bars to the intro or before a verse. It may be a remix version where they just did a different arrangement or edit using the original stems from the drums or keyboards, or some effects on the vocal. The record could have a club version on 1 side, and extended version on the other, or maybe a dub version, maybe the acapella but that was it. Each episode will showcase 5-10 12" versions in their entirety spanning the 70's-90's
