Chatting PSG & The UCL Final with David

The streets definitely won’t forget 2025 PSG. The Parisians have built a serious team and they’re now just one game away from a historic treble. But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing this season. This week, we’re kicking it with our guy David — a longtime PSG fan — who breaks down all the highs and lows from their wild season. We chatted about repping PSG since 2011, the Ligue 1 race, their Champions League run, and even looked ahead to the summer transfer window. You'll love this one, gang. Even if you're not really tapped into the foreign leagues, you might still pick up a thing or two.You can also watch this episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/gh8WNJmnzpIPlease like the video and subscribe to the channel.Follow us on social media:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/97footyTwitter (X): https://x.com/97footyTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@97.footy

Chatting Spurs & Munich with Daye

Daye is a Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich fan who recently just moved to Munich for his Masters. And now has seen his favourite team, one of his favourite teams in Tottenham Hotspur reach the final of the Europa League and have a chance to win their first trophy since 2008. Daye and Magnus analyse Tottenham's season. A really bad position in the league, sitting 17th in the Premier League table, is why Daye understands why some fans will feel like they should have seen their current manager, Ange Postecoglou, leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season. Daye broke down where he thinks Manchester United can fall to Tottenham Hotspur but still believes it will be a dicey affair as Manchester United can be annoying on that day. Bayern frontman Harry Kane scored a goal In what was Muller's last game of the season while we were having a conversation. Iconic, right? He told us about living in Munich and the obvious influence that Bayern Munich has on the city. Analyzing the Run-In with Glory

We had Glory from the Football Heritage podcast on the show this week. Liverpool have just been crowned champions of England again, and everyone says nobody cares. At the same time, they’ve broken the record for the most social media engagement. Glory says they even hired a data analyst just for that.We asked him about the Arsenal jersey on the wall, even though he’s a Chelsea fan. He had a solid reason, but we still had to bring it up. Then we looked at the Champions League race. Arsenal’s loss at home to Bournemouth has dragged them back into the fight, and now there are only four spots left with six teams going for it. Glory and Magnus looked at the remaining fixtures for City, Newcastle, Chelsea, Forest, and Villa and gave their verdicts on who makes it. UCL nights or nothing. We didn’t forget the Conference League either. That last European spot could go to any of Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton, or Brentford. You probably know where Magnus stands already, but Glory had his own take. You'll hear this in the audio version. To wrap up, we looked at this year’s European competitions and picked which winners would suit our personal agendas best. A much-needed link-up for the 97 community. Selecting the Premier League "Best of the Rest" XI

Magnus and Ikenna have to pick a starting XI using only players that play for clubs outside of the Premier League's traditional top six sides: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United, Man City, and Tottenham. Can their final team challenge for the Premier League title?

  11. 42

    Chill on the Title

Mo Salah’s big performance on the weekend wasn’t met with news of a big contract, rather a shocking interview saying he’s still waiting on an offer from Liverpool. Ikenna and Magnus share their mixed opinion on the situation. In other news, City have lost their last 5 matches and Magnus isn’t fully convinced by their ‘downfall’. Ikenna was impressed with Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge of United despite the outcome and Magnus still isn’t sold on Liverpool Prem title talks. Manchester United have been busy these past few days, sacking Erik ten Hag on Monday and swiftly moving to appoint Sporting Lisbon’s manager Ruben Amorim the next day. Ballon d'Or 2024: Man City POV (with Koseku)

We spoke with our Man City regular, Koseku, about Rodrigo's Ballon d'Or victory. From her vibe it seems City fans feel good and composed as ever. We asked if Rodri was really the best in the world but she really spun it on us with a very important question. Sadly we saw the Golden Ball winner receive his award on crutches, seems like the Citizens aren't moved about that either. We also got to find out Koseku's feelings about Real Madrid's absence at the gala and her favorite Rodri moment. Then we called for some corrections in the final rankings. Lock in to a midweek 97 special with Magnus and KSK.

  17. 36

    Big Game Weekend Review

A big game weekend! Arsenal and Liverpool played to a 2-2 draw, with Magnus not fully satisfied with that result at the Emirates. Juve and Inter  delivered an absolute Italian classic with an eight-goal thriller. Could be the game of the season . Out in France, PSG showed Marseille who’s boss in a dominant 3-0 win at the Velodrome, and Ikenna was hoping we could get through the episode without mentioning El Clasico. A fun weekend capped off with an even more fun episode. Lock in.

  18. 35

    An Exciting Boring Weekend

Arne slot continues to convince Magnus that Liverpool has what it takes for a potential title charge. Ikenna was impressed with United’s resolve to get a crucial comeback win against Brentford. Things have not gone according to plan for West Ham and Ikenna sees shades of their 17/18 campaign. Spurs on the other hand are cooking something this season and have piqued Magnus’s attention. Ikenna has called a potential three-way race between Villarreal, Bilbao and Mallorca for fourth place in La Liga. Finally, Messi inspires a big win for Inter Miami, scoring a hat-trick off the bench and literally making grown men cry.  Don’t miss out on this exciting coverage of a sort of exciting weekend.

  19. 34

    Tuchel Time

Thomas Tuchel has been announced as the next England boss and Magnus gives us a tactical breakdown of what English supporters can expect from the German manager. In other news, a few players have risen from the dead this season and Ikenna gives us his list of the most exciting ones so far. Ikenna and Magnus share an FPL pick of the week for the first time and Magnus has a new Football Manager database for the Nigerians out there. Don’t miss out on an exciting episode.

  20. 33

    Erik Ten Hag's Judgement Week

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspurs undid the Red Devils on Sunday evening in a fashion that’s becoming increasingly familiar. Man United fan, Jamil, offers his analysis of Erik ten Hag’s setup, and calls for something to be done before it’s too late.

  23. 30

    How Do We Stop Him?

We bring you the usual weekend recap. Hot and fresh. We're trying to find out how to stop that Norwegian Viking. He's doing way too much. Magnus finally lets his thoughts out after Hudson-Odoi sealed Nuno Espirito Santo's gameplan. United scored three without reply at St Mary's but Ikenna ain't moved just yet. Yamal has started punishing grown men at his young age. Imagine JSS1 boy telling SS2 boy to kneel down. Is Alvarez coming to hold bench again? At least Atleti is better than dragging shirt with Haaland. Magnus is loving ball strikers right now with those performances from Victor Boniface and Jhon Duran. FPL..... let's just say none of us two are chilling. Find out the top three in the 97 Fantasy League and our Gameweek 5 picks of the week in our latest episode.

  24. 29

Int’l Break Recap/North London Derby Preview ft. Gbenga

We sat with our boy Gbenga to discuss a few events that transpired over the international break. With the North London derby in a few hours, find out what our in-house Arsenal fan had to say.

  25. 28

    Two Games In

We're back with another game-week review, but first, we bear some news from back home. The Super Eagles just announced their new boss and Magnus and Ikenna are sizing him up for the gargantuan task at hand. Over In Europe, maybe Noni Madueke might be the guy he thinks he is, but he's definitely public enemy #1 in Wolverhampton right now. Three goals for Real Madrid against Valladolid and Ikenna still isn't convinced. Girona was on the wrong end of a three-goal defeat though and it's already looking spooky. But not for Celta Vigo, who's looking to steal that European spot. PSG definitely don't look like they have a midfield crisis, and maybe Leverkusen's undoing all their bad karma from 2000 and 2002. Neither Magnus nor Ikenna had Erling Haaland on their fantasy teams, so they weren't too happy with FPL this week. But we're just 2 games in though.

  26. 27

    Give It Time ft. Ehis

Our old friend Ehis joins Magnus on this bonus episode where they table some Blue matters. Chelsea's new boss, Enzo Maresca, singled out Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell in the past week's press conferences, then brutally addressed the whispers about his squad's size. Ehis reacts to Maresca's pressers and how Chelsea are handling player outgoings in the new regime, while uncovering a trend in the Blues' youth development system that dates beyond the Boehly era. Ehis is tired of seeing the Conference League account in his club's comments, but hey... na turn by turn. Just gotta give it time.

  27. 26

    Back With A Bang

Club football come back with a bang, and we bring you our first weekly review. Poch got appointed as the USMNT manager and we’re wishing Angel Gomes a speedy recovery. Ikenna and Magnus both happy with their teams’ wins, but Ikenna still has some issues with his Blancos, while Barcelona had to sneak three points from the Mestalla. We were so disappointed with Eze’s disallowed goal, though we were quite impressed with Brighton’s Fabian Huerzler. In France, it looks like PSG might have someone coming for their throne. We also looked at our Fantasy Premier League teams. Magnus is chilling at the top of the 97 Fantasy League, but he was furious at a rather underwhelming opening weekend in Italy.

  28. 25

    Fan Diaries - 2024/25 Preview

Our first edition of Fan Diaries sees us interview fans of the big six Premier League clubs, right before the season gets rolling. Manchester City fan Koseku is chilling going into the season, still on a high from the 2023 UCL win but ready as ever to do the usual normal. Jamil joins Ikenna in the Manchester United corner as they break down Erik ten Hag's setup and chances going into the season. Chelsea fans may be confused but Al-Ameen still has high expectations for his blues. And Gabby's already seen a lot of their new boss Enzo Maresca, so she can smell what he's cooking. Liverpool fan Emelie still doesn't fully trust the strange face he sees on the dugout just yet, but the new season excitement fully remains. Arsenal fan Gbenga is ready to be hurt again at the chance of Premier League glory, and Kalu wants Arteta to fine-tune some details in the Gunners' attack. A familiar voice returns on this episode, as Daye shares his excitement about his young Tottenham Hotspurs side under Ange Postecoglou. There's something for everyone. 00:26 Manchester City 19:50 Manchester United 33:05 Chelsea 47:51 Liverpool 1:01:30 Arsenal 1:15:06 Spurs

    City, It's Now Or Never

Our first episode of 2021 features our boy Ikenna. Man City have been absolutely dominant even before the turn of the year. They’ve taken every one - obviously us - by storm with their fluid attacking football now coupled with what might be their best defensive side yet. But do we think they can finally conquer Europe this year? The Premier League has seen many sides improve this season, so which has been the best outside the traditional top 6? And the time is coming to get our Player Of The Year votes in, but is the race already over? Should Jamie Vardy be in contention? Find out what we think in this brand new episode!

  45. 8

There's absolute loads to speak on so in this episode,  we've gone in on the top teams and how we think they're going to be shaping up this season. And can Inter really challenge Juventus this season? Find out what we think in this brand new episode!

  48. 5

    Secret Agent Luiz? ft. Idam

So the football world seems to be on the wheels again, and of course, it's always giving us something to talk about. The Premier League's restart gave us a controversial goal decision (as annoyingly usual), and Arsenal struggling more and more at the hands of City. Plus, we've got our 2nd ever guest on the show in Idam, and he takes on Magnus in a short "Man City x Liverpool" style quiz. Find out who wins and more, in this brand new episode.
