Welcome to another week of The Advantage Line podcast. This week, the show is led by Karl as host, and he is joined by NRL guru Nick Tedeschi and former NRL player Blake Ayshford. To start off, the trio run through the betting recap for the whole TAL from Round 20, where everyone hit their best bet but came up short on all other fronts. Next up, the team plays “This or That” as they go through and try to choose the greatest try of all time. From there, it was of course time to visit this weekend’s slate, preview the games and make their picks for Round 21 to close out the show.

Regardless, the show had to go on, and it started with the lads covering off the previous weekend’s action, the results of their tips and where they sit in the comp across the season. Next up, would it be an Advantage Line podcast episode without a new game being introduced? This one has been described as elite, and we can confirm it was an absolute beauty. And of course, to close out the action, the lads preview this weekend’s upcoming action and make their picks across the slate!

Welcome to another week of The Advantage Line podcast. With the podcast staying true to its chaotic fashion, it opens with Teddy disappearing due to Wi-Fi issues, leaving Blake and Paul to take the reins. The dynamic duo take it upon themselves to discuss the upcoming matchweek, and while doing that in heroic fashion, Teddy reappears on the show after driving to the local library to use their Wi-Fi. To make it three weeks on the bounce, another new game is introduced and, without Carl, it is absolute carnage. The show closes with a huge bombshell, as Teddy has finally seen the light when it comes to the Wahs, and some might say he’s now a fan!

It is decider time in this year’s State of Origin and everything is on the line. Before we get into the stats, previews we see if the team can do a little lipsync battle. Trying to figure out famous State of Origin sayings. Let’s hope Paul’s picks for State of Origin are better than his lip reading skills. Of course, we look ahead to the big game this Wednesday and who will be siding with the Blues and who thinks Queensland will be taking out the series?

The team is back together and gets stuck into all the important news and results surrounding the great game of rugby league including Paul's devastating injury.. To start the show, yet another new game was introduced, as the panel were given a criteria of players and then had to try to come up with a name that no one else would. After the new game, the lads turn back to last week’s game of “Six Again or Play On”, where Karl mentions a topic and the panel choose if it’s worth discussing. Of course, the meat and potatoes of the show were touched on, with the team continuing their season-long punting contest as a new set of picks rounded out the episode.

But the big talking point, a massive move in the betting competition. Only two weeks ago Teddy was more than $800 behind the pack, but now, that gap is getting smaller and smaller. Here. He. Comes.

We had the small matter of Origin. What an absolute banger Game 1 was. The BIG talking point was that sending off. Was it the right call? You can probably guess what Teddy thinks. Despite both teams losing players to Origin the Panthers and the Warriors should we they are leading the NRL ladder as they put on a classic. Was this a preview of a potential final between the teams. We look ahead to this weekend’s games which sadly don’t include the Warriors, but there is still plenty of quality on offer, but can he live up to the action of the past week?

The talking is almost all over, the teams are warming up and we couldn’t be anymore pumped for tonight’s game.  Speaking of Origin, we discuss the origin of Kiwi’s love for either NSW or QLD. Is NZ a Blues or Maroons nature? Who on the panel is a secret Dragons fan boy, and could they really go an entire season without winning a game? Of course, this weekend we see a top of the table clash between the Wahs and Panthers, but with both teams having players out for Origin who’ll finish the weekend on top is anyone’s guess.

Of course, we begin to look ahead to next week as the first game of State Of Origin kicks off and we preview the games at the weekend that might be affected by SoO commitments.

This week, Karl, Paul and Teddy are on their own as they tackle The Grid. Disaster strikes but not in the form of a red square, the screen record didn't work. Despite being a man down, technology failing and all three in different rooms they come away with a decent result.

Luke Metcalf is on his way out of the Warriors and we react to the news and if it is the right decision on both the club and player. Can the Warriors be successful without him. Lastly, we look ahead to Magic Round and all the exciting match ups and will the be the week the Dragons do something magical and win a game? They are playing the Panthers, so probably not.

After last week Teddy sparked a social media storm by suggesting you can’t wear a team jersey as a grown. Well, did social media agree or disagree and how does Teddy respond. This week, we’re playing a friendly game of Start, Cut, Bench Dally M winners from various positions. The catch, the panel have to agree on their decision will we be here all night or are some choices easier than the others. The Warriors beat the Eels to go into the bye in second place and we look at where the match was won. Lastly we preview all the upcoming action and ask, can the Storm turn it around.

PNG are making moves in the market with players like Jarome Luai and Alex Johnston looking to head over to the new franchise, so we have to ask: Is Cleary next? The Wellington hosted the One NZ Warriors at a sell out HNRY Stadium, and despite coming away with a win, there will be areas of improvement that will need to be addressed before the Wahs face the Eels. The Storm seem to be giving the Dragons a race for the wooden spoon, so what has happened and can they recover to make the eight?

Another week of NRL is behind us, which means a fresh edition of The Advantage Line podcast. Hosts Paul and Karl are back to lead a panel of resident NRL experts, joined this week by former NRL player Blake Ayshford and NRL guru Nick Tedeschi. Starting off the podcast, all four of the lads choose their good, bad and ugly from the weekend’s action across the NRL. In a break from normal proceedings, Paul and Karl take a moment to settle an age-old debate surrounding chicken nuggets, putting their taste buds to the test in a blindfolded challenge where they try to name four different brands. After that important challenge, the panel previews four of the biggest games in this week’s slate of action, finishing as always by giving out their best tips of the weekend.

A new week of The Advantage Line is here as hosts Paul and Karl once again lead a panel of NRL gurus. Joining the panel this week is resident NRL expert Nick Tedeschi, along with oval ball connoisseur Searley. Kicking things off, the lads get into the hot topic of injuries around the league and, rather than focusing on this year, they look back at some of the worst in the history of the game. From there, the spin the wheel segment is back and lands on the Bulldogs, which then turns into a discussion about their opponent this week, the Panthers, and how absurd a start their winger Tom Jenkins has had to the 2026 season. After further discussion about other teams around the league, the panel once again zeroes in on their punts for the weekend as their season-long tipping contest begins to heat up.

This week also ups the stakes of the competition, as the punishment for the loser was announced.To finish the episode, the group previews some of the biggest games of a huge Round 5 slate while also making their next set of tips for the competition.

Still yet to land on top of the table, the boys only come up 20 odd points short. Tough going this one.

Welcome back to another episode of The Advantage Line Podcast! It’s the final episode of the year, and the lads wrap up an epic season of rugby league. They review the last weekend of internationals, where Australia beat England 30–8 to sweep the Ashes 3–0, and New Zealand claimed the Pacific Championship over Samoa. A big talking point was Deine Mariner’s disallowed try — would the result have changed if it had counted? The boys agree the match was played at Origin-level intensity, international footy now could be the pinnacle. Kieran Foran farewelled the game in perfect style, ending a phenomenal career, while Dylan Brown picked up three Man of the Match awards and showed his worth for Newcastle next year. They also give credit to Stacey Jones for silencing the doubters. The team looks back on a massive 2025 from Las Vegas and Magic Round to the Pacific Champs, calling it one of the best NRL seasons yet. To finish, they wrap up The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and throw out some early 2026 predictions, naming their premiers, top 8, wooden spooners, Dally M winner, and Team of the Year for 2026.
