Did you know that in 2022, viral hepatitis (mainly B and C) caused an estimated 1.3 million deaths worldwide, making it the second-leading infectious, according to World Health Organization. That equates to roughly 3,500 deaths per day , about 83% of these deaths were due to hepatitis B, and 17% due to hepatitis C.
