The Armchair Generals
by The Armchair Generals
A monthly podcast in which two amateur historians discuss the history behind some of their (and your) favourite war movies, and try not to be completely insufferable while doing so. Join up with Liam and Rob as they delve into the fascinating historical backdrops of classic war movies which captured so many of our imaginations growing up. We'll be looking at far-reaching topics from Operation: Market Garden to the Zulu War, as well as getting to grips with such hard-hitting questions as "How do the changing tropes of war films reflect our society's attitudes to warfare?" and "Just how overrated is Erwin Rommel anyway?" So come on over the top with us on our romp through history and cinema and this war will be over by Christmas. Tally-ho!
