"Balancing Work, Family, and Self: Our Journey and Lessons Learned" | TBCP Ep 25
Join us for a heartfelt conversation in our latest podcast episode, where my wife and I delve into the delicate balance of work, family, and self-care. We start by reflecting on the work-life balance of our parents, who immigrated from India and prioritized providing for the family above all else. Our upbringing lacked the attention and emotional support we craved, leading us to prioritize being present and engaged parents when we started our own family. We made it a point to be actively involved in our children's lives, attending their events and nurturing them with love and attention. However, in doing so, we neglected our own needs and relationship, lacking role models for a healthy marriage. As our children have grown, we've realized the importance of carving out time for ourselves and each other amidst the demands of work and family. Through practices like meditation, journaling, and prioritizing self-care, we've learned to prioritize our own well-being while still being there for our children. Now, with our children older, we're making conscious efforts to nurture our relationship and pursue our individual passions. We've come to understand that true balance lies in making time for work, family, and personal fulfilment. In sharing our journey, we hope to inspire others to find their own balance and prioritize what truly matters to them. Join us as we explore the complexities of modern life and discover how to create a fulfilling and harmonious existence.

LIVE YOUR LIFE YOUR WAY, STOP LETTING PEOPLE DECIDE WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU | EP 21 | THE BEST COUPLE PODCAST
In our latest podcast, my wife and I talk about how we've learned to set boundaries in our Indian family. We share stories from our own lives and culture, discussing the ups and downs of standing up for ourselves while still respecting our family's traditions. Growing up, we saw different approaches to setting boundaries in our family. Our grandmother showed us the importance of knowing our limits and sticking to them, while our parents expected us to follow strict rules without question. As we became adults, we had to figure out how to balance our family responsibilities with our own needs and desires. Setting boundaries wasn't easy – sometimes our family and friends didn't understand or accept our choices. In our podcast, we talk about how setting boundaries works in different relationships, like with our parents and with each other as a couple. We stress the importance of being true to ourselves and not worrying about what others think. We share personal stories and practical tips to help listeners feel more confident about setting their own boundaries. We challenge the idea that everyone has to fit into the same mold, encouraging people to prioritize their own happiness over society's expectations. We also talk about teaching our kids about boundaries, so they can grow up feeling empowered to stand up for themselves and respect others' boundaries too. By fostering a culture of understanding and respect, we hope to build stronger, happier families and communities. Join us as we share our journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Together, let's break free from society's rules and embrace who we truly are, leading to a more fulfilling and authentic life.
