The Bird Brains Baseball Show

The All Star break comes in the midst of the O's first 4 game winning streak and the boys talk about buying/selling at the trade deadline.  Also a quick look at the Orioles top 5 draft selections from this year's class.

A despondent pair of Brain Cells try to figure out if the Orioles will be big sellers at the trade deadline or whether Mike Elias will try to stay the course. 

A lost week that may make for a lost season. The O's are entering the July 4th weekend 8 games under .500 and no signs of a turn around.  The Bird Brains talk about how it's been since the Mike Elias "Lift Off".

In need of some therapy the Bird Brains were into handing out well earned Bird Turd awards.  A series win against the Dodgers albeit with a blown sweep was uplifting but was neutralized by a horrific series loss to the lowly Angels. 

It's all about pitching..well mostly.  Jeff and Dave talk about pitching by the league leaders and how the Orioles compare.  Also, how will the O's approach the draft and are fundamentals being addressed in the minors? 

The Brains talk about the Birds and discuss the inconsistencies this team shows.  Speculation runs rampant about a potential trade of Adley Rutchman and the boys chime on that one. 

Derek pinch hits for Dave this week and settles his position on the impact of analytics on baseball. The O's had a good week and talk about the significance of May 13th on the team.

 Good starting pitching and some timely hits have given Birdland some hope.  Dave and Jeff talk about the importance of the starting pitching and continuing to play clean baseball as June begins.  

Lamenting a 1-5 week with the Birds, today the boys discuss why analytics based coaching/decision making doesn't necessarily result in "Good Baseball".  Inspiration was taken from Ben McDonald's post game comments.

Down one Brain cell, Derek Pinch Hits for Dave as what's left of our Brains discuss the lack of depth by the starting pitching, chase rates, and a series win against the Yankees.

Dave, Derek, and Jeff review a tough stretch for the Birds and comment on the recent controversial comments made by O's HOFer Mike Bordick. 

April comes to an end and the O's are hovering around .500.  Jeff and Dave talk about some of the promising performances this week and hand out a Bird of Prey award.
