This episode marks the one year anniversary for The Bitter Pickle Podcast.  The Mentor and The Miscreant discuss a variety of topics from traffic to world events. One can tell they aren't fully confident, and they are nervous with recording, but you can also hear the good things that became what people enjoy.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.  Enjoy the podcast, and keep your ears tuned to the pickle. In this episode, the Miscreant and Mentor discuss the filthy urchins and their parents who create messes in public events.  From there, they discuss people known as "professional commiserators" who ask if you're ok then proceed to attempt to tell their own story and then one-up it. Today's snacks are all RAP snacks provided by a fan.  Hilarity ensues! Lastly, the game is a mad libs for the Mentor.  Thanks and enjoy.  

In this episode, the Miscreant and Mentor discuss the issue of leadership and humility.  A normal topic of the show, the two discuss the proper way to admit one is wrong and diffuse a bad situation.  They also talk about the joys of enjoying the summers in Little Letcher County.  For the snacks today, they try Smoky Mountain Popcorn and several energy drinks.  One of the popcorn flavors had to be obtained by signing a waiver and showing that one is over age 18.  After trying, they understood perfectly well why.  Tune in because the Miscreant receives yet another blow to his aversion to ranch dressing.  Thanks for listening. 

In this episode The Miscreant and The Mentor discuss how adversity makes diamonds of us through pressure and creative solutions to problems. We discuss how technology, especially AI, has taken creativity and grit from people.  They then discuss the various love languages.  For the first time ever, they introduce two new love languages that they hope will be added to the literature on the subject. Next, there is a snack sampling. There are two types of chips, two gummy snacks, Japanese Oreos, and a Japanese cinnamon roll.  Finally there is a game where the guys look at the last meals of people on death row and either swipe left to immediately be executed, or swipe right and eat that meal. In this episode, the Miscreant and Mentor discuss the hype around the hantavirus and its possible origins.  Is it conspiracy theory, lunacy, or plain idiocy? You decide.  Next, there is a discussion about complexity for complexity's sake.  People have a way of making simple things complicated to appear complex.  This discussion is an attempt to demonstrate understanding of that, but to also challenge it.  The snack section contains three varieties of potato chips in specialty flavors.  Will the Miscreant vomit on air?  It's highly possible.  Lastly, the game section is an attempt to stump and confuse the geriatric Mentor with riddles.  Play along, join in, and enjoy the madness. 

In this special Friday episode, the boys discuss keyboard warriors who spread nonsense lacking context and content on social media.  They also discuss information overload and burnout.  Of course there are the usual mother jokes, catch phrases, and only fan references. This week's episode finds the Miscreant and Mentor angry at being singled out on social media for the airing of grievances as they discuss the importance of social etiquette, decorum, and kindness.  Next they discuss the DMV and how badly regional offices are in Eastern Kentucky.  Finally, there is a section where they engage in useless debates on fan-provided topics. 

In this episode, The Miscreant and Mentor discuss garbage: both the wasted and human kind. In this episode, The Miscreant and The Mentor discuss the flaw in the logic of "The grass is greener." In a metaphorical discussion, the elders point out that urinals are much like life and regardless of how you try, you still get urinary blowback. Next is a discussion of several societal injustices. They then move on to discuss rude people and social etiquette/norms.  In the food tasting segment, they try several forms of chocolate, an energy drink, and some pickle flavored cashews.  For the game, they play 12 questions about a person in their minds. In this episode, the Miscreant and Mentor discuss some unsolved mysteries.  One of those mysteries revolve around last week's episode of "I seen it!" They finally figured out what the note meant.  They also discuss personal hygiene rituals and how it applies to individuals.  Once again, the issue of automatic headlights comes up.  For the taste test, there are two energy drinks that lead to some funny outbursts.  Lastly, the game is the picnic game.  Take a letter of the alphabet and name an item to take on the picnic.  The trick is to remember everything before including your next letter.  It's harder than it seems.  Play along and see how long the guys last.  Hilarity ensues.  Thank you for tuning in as always.

Next they talk about personal space and neck breathers at the grocery store.  Then they discuss medical marvels and the inability to put money toward meaningful advancements. In this episode, the Miscreant and the Mentor are in super grumpy mode and attacking the use of the word "We" in various inappropriate scenarios.  They also tackle the subject of pigeon-holing or type-casting as it applies to life.  On the lighter side, the guys discuss whether or not dances were ever really full of dancing people or whether they've always been semi-awkward social events.  For today's snacks, we try lentil chips in two varieties, some messala chips, and a coffee cream bar.  To cleanse the palate, the gentlemen try two warhead sour drinks.  Lastly, for the game segment, the boys play "Book Title or Metal Band" where they have to try to stump each other as to whether the name they mention is a book title or if it's the name of a heavy metal band or both. In this episode the boys discuss how everything in popular culture is hyped to the point of ridiculousness and the spectacle has taken precedent over substance and talent. Along those same lines, they discuss the protein obsession in society.  Though necessary, most things produced to provide protein don't do it honestly.  Next, they discuss a promising update on the brightness of modern headlights. After this, they discuss how Pepsi cleverly took an expired Coke trademark and utilized it for themselves.  The taste testing session is one of the funniest of the whole series which finds them tasting Shrimp flavored chips and several protein-infused product.  Lastly, for the game, the pair quiz one another in a 60-second blitz resulting in one of the funniest of this whole season.  Tune in, laugh, wonder, and pickle it up!

Welcome back, pickle heads! In today's episode, the Miscreant and the Mentor discuss the "Magic Eraser" behind the "good ole days." Could we be wrong about how good things used to be?  They also question how we processed information in the past and why we didn't see danger in things that seem obvious today. Also, they discuss the need to focus on positivity for the future regardless of how far it feels from the days of old.   Then the transition goes to people who burden you with their problems and how frustrating it is to deal with poorly parented children, people who ask for advice and won't take it, and people who vent just to unload. In this episode, the Miscreant and the Mentor discuss the entitlement mentality in adults who feel the world and everyone in it owes them.  After exploring this, they tackle the issue of being situationally aware (reading the room) and why that is a skill currently in decline.  Next, the Miscreant quizzes the Mentor on Appalachian colloquial sayings prompting an impromptu story from the Mentor about the murder of a chicken.  In the sampling section, they try two boutique sodas and open a mystery snack box.  Lastly, they play a game of "Would You Rather?" In this episode, the Miscreant and Mentor go off the rails and off script as they condemn Phil for his shadow prediction (Groundhog Day) since they are recording the podcast during Snowmageddon 2026.  They then explore the disaster that is the winter snow covered parking lots.  Once again, they call upon restitution from a large retailer for having promoted a delivery service. Lastly, they tackle musicians and why they should keep their beaks out of politics.  Snack time has them trying salt and seaweed chips, Korean bbq chickpeas, and mushroom sodas.  Lastly, tune in as they play rock, paper, scissors to determine who drinks a large quantity of pickle juice.
