The Boondoggle
by The Boondog
First Thought, Boon ThoughtThe plan is this... Every week for a year, I am going to head out on a walk, and I'll record the nonsense from that walk. But it won't just be any old nonsense, it'll be the ramblings of a man trying to create a story on the fly. I'll spin my wheel of genres, find my topic for the week, then off we go. Another thing, there will be NO editing, or at least very little. The whole walk, the ambience, the thinking, the overthinking, the distractions, the tangents, the burps, will all be in there. Finally, since I'm off the socials, we're going back to word of mouth promotion for this one. FTBT - Ep. 08 - Road Trip (fixed, sort of)
I've fixed it! Sort of. This episode was unusable, or so I thought. For some reason the recording of this went all crackly in parts. A lot of it is bearable but there's a small section which was completely unlistenable. You might not think I have any respect for the listener with the rambling, unedited nature of this pod, but I actually do! I have a bit. So I rerecorded over that bit to cover what I'd said in that section. This week's episode is the Road Trip episode and it's a corker. I got so into it that I almost cried. Perhaps it was from a coughing fit but also slightly because I'm a really good actor who has told himself, and yourself, an emotional story. This one COULD be a movie, I'm telling ya! Let me know what you think: [email protected]

FTBT - Ep. 09 - Ghosts
NB. Episode 8 has been recorded but encountered some technical difficulties so I'll rerecord it from where it all went wrong. Today also had a major technical disaster but we're soldiering on. I spilt my water bottle in my bag and my mic got soaked so I'm surprised it works at all. I did some test runs and it seemed fine but it sounds like there's still some crackling on the recording at the beginning. It does go away eventually though. I wouldn't usually put this out but since I missed last weeks I had to put this out. The theme this week is ghosts! I've never been a horror fan because they give me the creeps so my knowledge of ghost movies may be a bit route one. I actually almost shed a tear during this one from my actual acting! That's something to be proud of. Tears were in the scene and tears were delivered... partly due to a coughing fit but that's neither here not there. Have a listen and let me know what you think. Ep. 19 - Christmas Special 2021
It's been a while but I've finally returned to the internet waves. It's been a wild year, not incredibly good for finding stories so I've had a little time off. Here's a little Christmas Special slamming into your podcast feed on Christmas Eve though. I'd recommend listening to it before the 27th or you just won't feel too Christmassy anymore. Why not go on a stroll or stick it on while you're having your Christmas dinner? Drown out those arguments, ey?

Ep. 18 - You're Not the Prey
So here we are. I promised a twelve episode series, and that's what you got. I don't think we've got to the top of any lists yet but there's still time. This week, we conclude the two stories of last week. Mudgard Stripling is tested when she encounters a bear and must use the only skills she knows to outwit it. I apologise for the lack of action in this story but I am only operating at the behest of the author, who I do not know. In Journey to Pinkleton, The Boondog shows George Eliot how to write some romance and we are treated with a delightful conclusion. Thanks for listening guys. I will return soon, but for now, it is goodbye. Stay safe. Stay Sane. Stay Boondoggin'. www.instagram.com/theboondogglepod www.theboondoggle.co.uk www.twitter.com/alexboondoggle
