15. Capitalism is Ruining Sports
The World Cup has come to Canada! Scandalously, ticket prices make attending a match out of reach for most Canadians. This is in spite of the fact that the government paid well over $1 billion to host the games in Vancouver and Toronto. This week on The Class Line, Joel is joined by Oliver Lue to discuss how capitalism is killing sports and how the World Cup is the clearest example of that.📖 Recommended reading:FIFA World Cup 2026: Capitalism is ruining sportsEHSAN ALI RELEASED! Note: This podcast was filmed on Tuesday May 19th, before Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced the referendum on May 21st. 📖 Recommended reading: Why would Alberta separate?Join the Revolutionary Communist PartySubscribe to Communist Revolution, the newspaper of the Revolutionary Communist Party
