Is Your Creative Process Holding You Back?
Creatives be like: let me do my thang and don't tell me how to do it. That's often how I am. Creativity needs freedom to flow, but if you intend to monetize your work, thus freeing up more time to create more work because that's what you love doing, then you're going to need a little structure behind that creative freeform workflow. In this episode of the Creative Spotlight, we examine your creative process and see what you need to change to turn your creative passion into a creative income.

You Don't Need More Time to Create More
Time is the number one limited resource I hear about from the Creatives in my community - "If I just had more time, I could create more of my art work." While there is some truth in that, it's not helpful. In this episode, we look at real world solutions to the time problem, and how you can create as much as you want and it will even come out better if you don't have more time.

Don't Create Anything Without Applying This Rule
In this episode of the Creative Spotlight, I share the wisdom of the great Twyla Tharp. I've been applying her concept to every one of my creative projects for over the last decade. In fact, I don't embark on a new project without it. It's simple, but it will add depth and desired complexity to your creative visions. This is a simple way to get a lot better at your medium.

How Your Limited Resources = Creative Expansion

In fact, it might even make you a better artist than you would be with all the resources under the sun. Let's find out why!

Why Artists Stay Broke (And It Isn’t Talent)

Why It's Essential for Humans to Create, Even If AI Feels Threatening
More AI content in your feed? Oh no! That's how I feel anyway. Seems my feed is flooded with made-by-AI or made-by-humans-about-AI content, so why don't I just add one more of those videos to the mix?! 😂 In this episode of The Creative Spotlight, I'm speaking from the heart - not from fear of having my creative job stolen by a bot - to creatives encouraging them to keep creating no matter what! You may see creative roles being taken over by AI, but this video dives into why it's essential for humans to keep on creating.

How To Find Your Creative Voice
The answer is likely not what you think, and it might be easier than you realize. As creatives, we produce our most profound and beautiful work when we practice without force. That doesn't mean you can't steamroll from time to time to meet a deadline, or work swiftly simply out of joy. Working without force is a mindset, a feeling of letting go. Listen to this episode to go deeper into this idea. Let's get you on the path to creative productivity!

The Most Important Skill Successful Creatives Must Master
You've probably been refining your artistic skills for years - your technique if you're a painter, singer or dancer; your voice if you're a writer or musician, etc. But all creatives must master their time management. Subscribe to my channel to become a part of a supportive community of creatives. And I'll help you apply the highly effective road map used in the theater world to whatever art form suits your fancy!

Apply the "Broadway Model" to Your Creative Endeavor
🎭 My creative expertise hails from the theater and performance world. My husband and I built our business once, then we completely rebuilt it again with the Broadway Model. It is what has allowed us to continually produce new works (which I live for) while still getting paid for the last round of creative expression. This model can be applied to your creative medium too - with just a little creativity. 😉

It takes bravery to put yourself in the spotlight, and that's because being seen is a vulnerable experience. This technique is a quick mindset shift that will help you expand your confidence so you take action on the things that, well, require confidence. Let's dive in!

Building an Audience for Your Creative Work

I've been working in the theater industry for two decades now, gradually building up my own unique audience of immersive theater lovers. Whatever your medium, for your art to have an impact on someone other than you, you need an audience. Let's get into the mindset behind being seen.
