The Cultivation Room
by Cecily
The Cultivation Room is where the practical questions of home education meet the philosophical questions underneath them. Hosted by Cecily, a homeschooling mother of four, we explore education through a Christian and Charlotte Mason lens, drawing from great books, classical education, philosophy, literature, and ordinary family life. We’ll talk homeschool curriculum, living books, habits, atmosphere, attention, and family culture…but we won’t stop with what should we do? We’ll keep asking why? And perhaps discover that educating our children has a way of educating us, too.

Ep. 1 : What Is a Child? The Person Before the (Homeschool) Plan
Before we choose curriculum, methods, schedules, or philosophies, perhaps there is a more fundamental question we need to ask: What is a child? In this first episode of The Cultivation Room, I'm thinking through what changes when we begin with the child as a whole person—not simply a mind to fill...
