Two Inclusion Nerds, One Big Idea: Live Music Should Be For Everyone

Okay, episode five. And I have my very first guest on the couch.Yes, we have upgraded from the beanbag. It's a long story.Dale is my Studio Manager at Perform Ability, my co-founder of something very exciting and new, and honestly one of the most talented, passionate, humble humans I have ever met in my life. He came into my studio as a support worker for one of my students and I basically just walked up to him and said, do you want a job? The rest is history. Full time employee, shared brain cell, and now co-creator of The Loop.So what is The Loop? It's an inclusive live music event series on the Central Coast and it is everything I wish already existed. We are talking proper quiet zones, accessibility that actually makes sense, parking that doesn't put people at run risk, and charm bracelets on entry that you add to every single time you come back. That last one was not my idea but it might be my favourite idea of all time.In this episode Dale and I talk through the whole origin story, including the inclusive event we attended that inspired us by showing us exactly what not to do, the 50 page planning document Dale produced basically overnight, and why we decided that if no one else was going to do this properly, we would just have to do it ourselves.Because we go hard or we go home. There is no in between. The Loop launches Wednesday 24 June at Goons Brewing, Berkeley Vale. Tickets are on sale now and I would absolutely love to see you there. https://events.humanitix.com/the-loop-live-at-goons-inclusive-live-music-night-feat-the-sugar-whiskey-bandIf you can't make it, follow us on socials because eventually there will be a Loop near you.Follow The Loop on Instagram and Facebook: @YoureInTheLoopFollow me on Instagram: @missmirandadaisy @thedaisychaineffect.pod Follow Perform Ability on Instagram: @performabilityOne daisy can only do so much. My Non-Negotiables for Teacher Wellbeing (And Why They Make Me Better in the Studio)

Teacher wellbeing. (Well, human wellbeing really). It's one of those things that sounds nice in theory but gets pushed to the bottom of the list the moment life gets busy. I didn't prioritise it for years and in this episode I'm telling you exactly what changed, and what I now refuse to compromise on.In this episode you'll hear:Why your nervous system is your students' problem too and what to do about it before you walk through that studio doorThe Danish concept that completely reframed how I think about rest and enjoymentThe Monday ritual I do every week with my studio manager that sets us both up to win the weekWhy the 60 seconds before you step into the studio might be the most important 60 seconds of your teaching dayWhat teacher wellbeing actually looks like in real life and why it has nothing to do with bubble bathsAnd I've created a free one-page weekly planning tool to go with this episode so you can start doing this with me every Monday.Download The Daisy Chain Reset here 👉 mirandadaisy.podia.com/the-daisy-chain-reset-pdfOne daisy can only do so much. 3 Words I Can't Stand That Might Surprise You

There are three words I hear constantly in my world. You've probably said at least one of them. And in this episode, I'm finally saying why they drive me absolutely mad.In this episode you'll hear:The three words I can't stand and why they might surprise youWhy I never assume what a student can or can't do before letting them show me firstThe difference between admiration and actually being inspired and why it mattersWhat this job really looks like on the hard days and what genuinely keeps me goingThe front row experiment and why I think it could change thousands of kids' confidence overnightBecause my students don't need your assumptions. They need your belief. And after this episode, I think you'll see why.One daisy can only do so much. But together we create the chain. 🌼

Equal vs. Equality: What Every Performing Arts Teacher Needs to Know

What's the difference between treating students equally and giving them what they actually need? In this episode I tackle the "treat everyone the same" myth head-on — and explain why this seemingly kind idea can quietly exclude the very students you're trying to support.I'll share the strategies I use every day at Perform Ability, an analogy involving an iPhone charger that might just change how you think about learning, and a personal story that still sits with me years later. Because the arts are only truly for everyone when we're willing to show up differently for each student.Come on this journey with me. I hope that as you listen and learn with me because I am just as passionate about learning as I am about teaching you'll want to change the world too.Because one daisy can only do so much.
