Big news in the world of DIY as Howdens completes the purchase of DIY Kitchens for £390 million! Dan and Nick discuss what impact this could have mixing trade with DIY consumers and also how the £100k bungalow renovation is coming along!

The title says it all this week! We have Sharn Rayment on the pod and as you can already tell, she is full of life, love and colour! Her bold, rich colour schemes are a match for her bundles of energy and enthusiasm for all things DIY, home hacks and style. 

Nick's back at the bungalow and has been plaster boarding walls, completing the rewire and ripping out 30 year old sinks...well smashing them out. Dan on the other hand has been insulating his porch on May's hottest recorded temperature which, well...was a bad idea.

This week Dan and Nick speak with interior designer, Alana from Delve Interiors. You know how brave it feels to colour drench a room? Well, Alana has gone one step further and created a warm, beautiful home full of dark, bold colours. Alana is also not afraid to tackle DIY, including her very own ceiling mural to go with the self acclaimed "moody" and "dark" character of her incredible home. 

Everything is happening all at once and Nick is panicking; the roof is on, the studwork is up, the plumber has been in and now Nick needs to finally get to work! The guys also discuss what paint is best, how foxes despite looking cute can ruin your life and Nick gives an update of where the £100,000 budget is sitting!

An old Victorian police station with its cake frosting exterior that has featured on BBC News as "Lincolnshire's Ugliest House" is the feature of this weeks episode. Dan and I speak with Ellie about tackling this mammoth task; including how she dealt with the exterior and drama over the look of the property, the history of everything that went on inside and the end goal, including an amazing library!

The roof carpentry is complete, the building inspector is happy and the roofer begins tomorrow - it's getting serious now at the £100k bungalow! Nick and Dan also discuss how Nick has let the bungalow become in his words "a disgrace", how much Nick received from the scrap company for all of the copper and a last minute layout change. 

Betty has been renovating her family home for 3 years and has gained over 170,000 followers on Instagram alone. We discuss what it's like undertaking a lot of the work yourself, living in a renovation alongside family life and share some of Betty's fabulous high-end looks without the price tag! 

Nick receives 3 plumbing quotes with a £6,000 swing, the builders go on holiday (and ask for a suspiciously large payment before they go) and Dan is eyeing up a freebie!

Dan and Nick speak with their first electrician, Owen from OM Electrical. Owen has blown up on social media, showcasing his high quality workmanship, amusing "how quickly can I make £100" videos and the daily life of a hard working electrician running several businesses. 

The builders are working on the extension roof, Nick finally gets back to work at his own job (where everything goes wrong) and Dan showcases his viral staircase!

It's a double this week as Nick and Dan discuss weeks 7 and 8 at Nick's £100k bungalow renovation. The blocks and bricks are flying up in the extension, we're ready for the roof work next week and Nick is on the hunt for a new plumber.

Eve and Ty have been renovating for 4 years; initially wanting to renovate internally only but subsequently doing a complete overhaul with only two rooms remaining the same!  We chat about the perils of living in a renovation, how they overcame problems with a builder and how they are future proofing their home.

The foundations have been poured for the extension, Nick's taken down a structural wall between the living room and kitchen, started the rewire and made a faux par with the electrics too...and Dan does some mocking.
