    To Catch a Catcaller

I'm by myself, peoples. I talk about how I miss my former co-host. I also have to talk about this catcalling video; I speak about harassment, abuse, surveillance, racism, objectification, subjugation, demonization, enabling, mental conditioning, fear, brutality, and molestation, by BOTH genders. But mostly, generalizations and accountability. You know, fun stuff. (This one might get me in trouble.) But I start with a new poem (well, kinda old, actually, but new to YOU) entitled, 'Train Romance'.

    Free Agency and Forgiveness

I'm rolling solo on this one; I discuss horrific leg and neck injuries (again), LeBron 'coming home', the entire NBA free agency happenings, how sports is becoming more big-picture, thinking before you say/do something, and recap various slips of the tongue by personalities like Tony Dungy, Stephen A. Smith, and Don Imus. I also talk about the subject of forgiveness; who to forgive, how to do so, my personal inability to forgive easily, and sensitivity in general. But first, I debut my new poem called "Creep".

    In A Hole

In the first DVS/Alex podcast of 2014, we discuss the open mics we host in Brooklyn, UVA football chants, Anchorman 2, disrespectful gestures, the Superbowl halftime show, porta-potties, and revisit the greatness of the Foreman Grill. Alex further prepares for his wedding, gives a lovely recipe for pesto, hides evidence of him eating meat, and asks for consultation on being a person in authority. I talk about a fading concern of mine which was once prevalent in my life, and the concept of quitting. Also, when I was feeling my most unsuccessful, a successful comic and idol of mine comes by and gives me sound advice, Yoda-style. I also unveil a new poem, written to describe how I've been feeling for the past few months. Sorry to get all deep on ya again.

The Twerk Heard 'Round the World

Alex and I return with some good news about the show moving to a new media network. In this episode, we must (by order of law) discuss the VMA's and the entire "performance" featuring Miley Cyrus. I also educate Alex on the responsibility of being black and what 'twerking' is. We also talk about the anniversary of MLK's most famous speech, why all art is basically poetry, analyze Monty Python's 'Dead Parrot' sketch, and question if comedy will be as clever as it was in the past. Speaking of anniversaries, Alex has MORE good news...

    Sweet Baby Yeezus

In this episode, Alex and I discuss his upcoming participation in a Catholic mass wedding, the highlights from the Trayvon Martin case, the lesser known John Henry Spooner case in Wisconsin, Tsarnaev's appearance on the Rolling Stone cover, and the debut of the royal baby. I also talk about the lack of auditions for promising productions and doing good work as an actor, reconcile with my President, go in on Tavis Smiley, and give my review of Kanye West's Yeezus album in the form of a workplace analogy. But before any of that, I recite a poem written in the aftermath of the Zimmerman verdict. And it ain't funny.
