Best known for producing definative glam rock albums with David Bowie and Marc Bolan, he has also produced a wide range of albums for a variety of Artists including Morissey, Thin Lizzy, The Moody Blues, The Kaiser Chiefs, Alejandro Escovedo, Esperanza Spalding, Wings, Luscious Jackson, Adam Ant, AngÈlique Kidjo, The Boomtown Rats, John Hiatt and Iggy Pop. Producer, arranger, musician, mixer Tony Visconti brings an array of talents to the table when he works on an album and his inovations and style continue to play an infuential role in the indistry. EVS 03.05.15 Coxsone Dodd Radio
This month, we feature Clement "Coxsone" Dodd who was an incredibly influential Jamaican record producer and the founder of legendary Studio One records. With motivated organization and a sharp ear for talent Coxsone took Jamaican music from Sound System street parties to international acclaim by helping to introduce the world to artists such as Bob Marley & the Wailers, Lee Scratch Perry, Peter Tosh, The Skatalites, Alton Ellis, Burning Spear, The Heptones, The Maytals and countless others. He continued putting out albums, working at his label and operating a record store until his passing at the age of 72 and his lasting impact on the world of music carries his legacy into the future.
