    In Episode 39, Amanda Woodward interviews Wendy Whittaker-Large on the recent change to Council Tax legislation for HMO Landlords across the country.  Wendy is a property investor, business owner and in recent years a campaigner, supporting the rights of HMO landlords across the country to have one annual council tax for their property, and NOT multiple council tax bills where the property is banded by the room. As a follow up to Episode 33, recorded back in March 2023, we are pleased to share that Wendy and her campaign team were successful. The government will amend legislation to ensure HMOs are valued as a single property for the purposes of council tax. This will be achieved through amendments to existing legislation, including the Council Tax (Chargeable Dwellings) Order 1992 and related regulations.
