    Cut It Off

Today we’re talking about a topic many Christians avoid — hell. In Mark 9, Jesus uses shocking language about cutting off a hand or tearing out an eye to show how seriously we should deal with sin. In a culture where talking about hell feels harsh or unloving, we have to remember that Jesus spoke about it more vividly than anyone else in Scripture. The truth is simple but sobering: if we take eternity seriously, we will take sin seriously. Let’s dive into what Jesus meant and why it matters for our lives today.

How to Experience Real Change in 2026

As we step into 2026, this episode challenges you to pursue real change—not just new goals, but new obedience—through the powerful story of Book of Jonah, especially Jonah 2. Like Jonah, many of us have run from what God was asking of us—resisting a calling, avoiding correction, clinging to our version of how life should look, or struggling to let go of seasons, people, or expectations. Yet what looked like the end for Jonah—being swallowed by a great fish—was actually God’s mercy. The fish wasn’t punishment alone; it was rescue, refinement, and redirection. In the deep, Jonah stopped running and started praying. He remembered God, looked again toward Him, and discovered that deliverance begins not with escape, but with renewed awareness of God. As you reflect on 2025, what has been your “fish”—the detour, loss, frustration, or unexpected season that forced you to turn back to Him? And what is your “Nineveh”—the obedience you’ve been avoiding, the person you need to reach, the change God is calling you to make? True change isn’t just surviving the storm or leaving the fish; it’s stepping into obedience on the other side. This episode invites you to name your fish, embrace what God is shaping in you, and move into 2026 ready to trust, surrender, and become who He is calling you to be.

    Faith in the Questions

Mark 9:30-32 and 9:38-41This week in The Way: The Gospel of Mark, we’re talking about “Faith in the Questions” from Mark 9. The disciples didn’t understand what Jesus was saying about His suffering—and they were afraid to ask. Many of us aren’t struggling with rebellion; we’re struggling with quiet questions. Why is this happening? Did I miss God’s will? Why does He feel silent? The danger isn’t having questions—the danger is burying them. Jesus invites us to bring our confusion to Him and to stay faithful even when we don’t fully understand. You don’t have to control everything or know everything. You just have to trust Him, stay humble, and keep offering your “cup of water” in His name. Faith isn’t the absence of questions—it’s bringing them to Jesus.

    Response to the Presence

Jesus isn't a campsite to visit; He is a home to inhabitMark 9:1-13This week in The Way: The Gospel of Mark, we look at the Transfiguration in Mark 9:1–13 and ask a challenging question: Is Jesus a campsite in your life… or is He home? On the mountain, Peter wanted to build tents and stay in the powerful moment—but Jesus was calling them to follow Him back down. Many of us love experiencing God’s presence in church, at camp, or in emotional highs, yet struggle to carry that obedience into everyday life. Jesus isn’t meant to be visited occasionally or leaned on only in crisis—He is meant to rule and reign in every room of our hearts. The call is simple: tear down the tents, listen to the Son, and let His presence move from temporary experience to daily surrender.

    A Life Worth Losing

Mark 8:31-38This week in The Way: The Gospel of Mark, we’re talking about “A Life Worth Losing” from Mark 8:31–38. Jesus makes it clear: you can replace your house, your car, your money, your reputation — but you cannot replace your soul. In a world that tells us to protect, promote, and preserve ourselves, Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him. The real question isn’t what you’re gaining… it’s what you’re becoming. Are you saving your life — or surrendering it? Because whoever loses their life for Christ will truly find it. Don’t trade your soul for something that won’t last.

  6. 52

    Getting Your Sight Back

Mark 8:22-30In this week’s episode of The Way: The Gospel of Mark, we explore Mark 8:22–30 and the powerful truth that spiritual change doesn’t start with doing more, but with seeing Jesus more clearly. Through the two-stage healing of the blind man and Peter’s confession of Christ, we’re reminded that we can be near Jesus and still see blurry. Sometimes our spiritual vision is clouded by sin, busyness, pride, or a limited view of who Jesus really is. But when Christ restores our sight, He doesn’t just fix our problems—He transforms our perspective. This message invites you to ask: Who do you say Jesus is? And where do you need Him to heal your vision today? Because when you see Jesus clearly, everything else comes into focus.

The Trade You Don't Want To Make

Mark 6:14-29In this week’s episode of The Way: The Gospel of Mark, we walk through Mark 6:14–29 and confront one of the most tragic trades in Scripture. King Herod had truth right in front of him—he listened to John the Baptist, feared him, and was even fascinated by his words. But when conviction collided with pride, reputation, and pressure from others, Herod made the trade. He chose approval over obedience, comfort over conviction, and ultimately silenced the voice that spoke truth into his life. This message challenges us to examine our own compromises and ask: What trade am I tempted to make? In a world that rewards comfort and image, we’re called to be more than fascinated with truth—we’re called to be devoted to it. Don’t trade the eternal for the temporary.

    Simeon's Song (Luke 2:25-33)

In Week 4 of The Lyrics of Christmas, we close our Advent journey with Simeon’s song in Luke 2 and discover what it means to truly be satisfied in Jesus. In a culture addicted to “what’s next” — the next achievement, upgrade, season, or milestone — Simeon shows us a different way. After a lifetime of waiting on God’s promise, he holds the Christ child in his arms and says, “Now I can depart in peace.” His joy wasn’t found in accomplishment, but in seeing Jesus clearly. This episode explores how patient, Spirit-led waiting shapes our hearts, how Jesus fulfills not only God’s promises but the person who seeks Him, and why if Jesus is enough for eternity, He’s enough for today. If you’re in a season of waiting, wondering, or longing for more, this conversation will help you rest, trust, and rediscover deep, eternal satisfaction in Christ.

  11. 47

    Angel's Song (Luke 2:8-14)

In Week 3 of The Lyrics of Christmas, we step into the fields of Luke 2:8–14 and listen to the angels’ song announced to ordinary shepherds: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace.” This episode invites us to rediscover the wonder of Christmas through childlike eyes and to move from great fear to great joy through worship. We explore the powerful imagery of Bethlehem and the manger—pointing to Jesus as the spotless Lamb of God—and what it means that heaven chose shepherds first, proving this good news is for everyone. In a season where stress, grief, comparison, and hurry try to steal our joy, we’re reminded that real peace begins with peace with God and overflows into every part of life. If something is robbing your joy this Christmas, this conversation will help you name it, pray over it, and experience the great joy and lasting peace only Christ can bring.

  12. 46

    Zechariah's Song

(Luke 1:57-79) In Week 2 of The Lyrics of Christmas, we explore Zechariah’s song in Luke 1 and discover what God can do in seasons of silence. After doubting the angel’s message, Zechariah is muted for nearly a year—unable to speak while carrying a promise that hadn’t yet come to pass. But when his voice is finally restored, he doesn’t return with frustration or complaints; he erupts in praise. His song reminds us that while we wait, God is still working—fulfilling promises, showing mercy, bringing redemption, and shining light into darkness. Sometimes silence is God’s classroom, deepening our faith and reshaping our hearts. If you’re in a season where God feels quiet, this episode will encourage you not to waste the wait, to let discipline turn into doxology, and to believe that what’s muted your praise doesn’t have to mute your future.

  13. 45

    Mary's Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55)

In this week’s episode of The Lyrics of Christmas, we begin with Mary’s Magnificat in Luke 1:46–55 and discover what real, biblical hope looks like. Before the miracle was visible and before her circumstances became easier, Mary chose to rejoice, remember God’s faithfulness, and trust His character. Her song isn’t soft or sentimental — it’s bold, prophetic, and revolutionary. It reminds us that God lifts the humble, fills the hungry, keeps His promises, and works through ordinary people in extraordinary ways. If you’re facing uncertain news, stepping into something new, or simply needing hope this season, this episode will help you learn how to lead your soul, anchor your heart in who God is, and sing hope even before the breakthrough comes.
