From Theory to Practice: The Real Challenges of Modern CMR Scanning

We have a small treat for you at the end of the episode! Stay till after the interview :PDear MRI Community,In this episode of The 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐑𝐈 𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭, we welcome back Stephen Mhiribidi, a CMR Application Specialist, Educator, and the visionary behind Transform CMR, to discuss the struggle of 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩-𝐭𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 in CMR while managing a heavy patient load. We tackle the mismatch between "perfect" academic research findings and the daily reality of scanning patients with 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐡𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐬 or 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 in a standard 45-minute slot. Stephen shares his thoughts on navigating the "Black Box" complexity of 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, maintaining clinical oversight, and optimising 𝐂𝐌𝐑 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐬 according to specific clinical scenarios. And about this, we truly recommend watching this episode until the end... A little CMR 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 awaits you! 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖?! Our brand-new 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐑𝐈 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 is now 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄, with courses covering from foundational and cardiac MRI to veterinary and remote MRI scanning. https://everythingmri.learnworlds.com/𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞 and 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 can email [email protected] for an 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭.As usual, if you have anything you would like to share in regards to the CMR world, and specifically troubleshooting complex cardiac MR cases, feel free to share it in the comments and be part of the conversation!

MRI Remote Scanning: The NHS Approach

“𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐑𝐈 𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞” ⚠️ That’s what many people said a few years ago. Some still do.But while critics debate it on LinkedIn, several private hospitals and public institutions around the world, like NHS England, are already using remote scanning successfully in real clinical environments on a day-to-day basis. That’s because remote operations were never about cutting corners. They are about solving real problems: staffing shortages, burnout, workflow pressure, access to expertise, and safer support for both patients and radiographers. In this podcast episode, we sit down with Philip Gregory, practice educator at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, to talk openly about where remote MRI actually stands today in the UK.We discussed why departments adopting remote operations are seeing:- Greater operational flexibility- Better staff support- Improved resilience across sites- Safer escalation pathways and operations- More sustainable MRI servicesWhat’s fascinating is that some of the strongest critics of remote scanning have completely changed their position after seeing it work in practice. The conversation has moved from:“Will this ever happen?” "I don't think this is the way to go in terms of safety" to: “How do we implement it properly?” "How can I get a free pilot?"Remote MRI is here to stay. The departments embracing it early will shape the future of imaging. If your department wants to explore remote MRI operations through a free pilot, comment below - "𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭"#MRI #Radiology #Radiographer #MedicalImaging #RemoteMRI #NHS Julien Greggio Samuel Oliveira
