Our world is a fear-inducing place - and sometimes, that can seem overwhelming.  Yet Jesus told his followers - and us - to not fear, but instead to invest in the kingdom of God and be ready for whatever Christ asks us to do.

In this week's message, Pastor Adam revisits one of the core commands of Jesus - to seek God's kingdom first - and explores how this frees us from the worry and anxiety that is part of how life operates far too often.

Sometimes, Jesus addressed needs in the Gospels that are strange or unknown to us - but not in this passage.  Here, Jesus tells the story of a rich man who has received a windfall, an unlooked-for blessing, and plots to increase his own comfort and ease.  That path is not the path of life, Jesus says; rather, he encourages all who hear his words to think of those in need and share what God has blessed them with at every opportunity, because nothing that we have been given is ours to own.

It's Easter!  We celebrate today the resurrection of Jesus Christ - and we hear the story of how some of his first followers tried to tell the unbelievable story.

As we observe Good Friday, we hear part of the story from Matthew's Gospel and consider the choice the crowd made that day - between a Messiah of love and grace and a rebel of violence and control - and we ponder what choice we make.
