The Female Muslim Scholar's Podcast
by Sofia Tsourlaki
Over the last 1200 years, Islam has been shaped exclusively by male scholars. That means that women, 50% of the ummah, have been erased from scholarship in interpreting the Qur'an, shaping laws, producing knowledge and forming regulations. With Allah's help, I am here to reclaim the right of Muslim women in knowledge production, critical examination of fiqh rulings, and interpretation of the Qur'an. I perform ijtihad and discuss a variety of topics clarifying the differences between what Islam was meant to be and what Islam has become throughout the centuries. I do not create laws or fatwas. I teach the steps, methods and knowledge that every Muslim needs to have, to shape their religious identity according to the principles and values of the Qur'an and the Prophetic paradigm. Feel free to ask me questions on topics you need more knowledge about. I claim no infallibility! I am a human and I do make mistakes. My knowledge grows day by day, which means my opinions change! And this is he
