Welcome to the goatensports podcast! Wow, it’s been a long time since I have said that. It’s good to be back as I took a leave of absence for a while. This episode is the first episode of the brand new season series called Unfiltered with Goaten. Congrats to Giannis for winning the MVP award for the 2nd year in a row.  Also, I apologize, I made a mistake...I said that Giannis, Jordan, and Hakeem are the only ones to win the back-back MVP's and DPOY's...it's just actually those 3 are the only ones to win MVP and DPOY in the same year. Giannis breaks a 26-year-old record. Congrats! Also props to Denver for coming back again from a 3-1 deficit in this year's playoffs. They broke an NBA record as well, 1st team to ever overcome 2 3-1 deficits in a series and win in game 7! The Heat are up 2-0 on the Celtics. 2020 am I right?

NBA Teams only boycotted thursday and friday last week and are back in full swing. Respect to the players for using their platforms though!

After the recent events in the US, the Lakers and Clippers (led by LeBron) announced late Wednesday night that they would be boycotting the rest of the season. The NBA held meetings Wednesday night and Thursday morning to discuss what to do. The most recent news is that the rest of league will continue with the playoffs. Both LA team's participation is still up in the air. We will see what happens but big respect to the players for using their platform to make a change.

Let's Go!  The NBA season is officially back!  July 31st, 2020 ! The NBA Board of Gov's voted to approve the 22 Team Format! NBA X Orlando  We pumped! 

HEY Goatensports Nation!  We have a target date! July 31, 2020! and the estimated NBA Finals Game 7 game is on October 12th, 2020! The NBA and the Board of Govenor's will be voting on Thursday (6-4-20) on whether to approve the 22 team format approach that would take place in Orlando, Florida.  -22 Teams -16 Playoff Teams  -6 additional teams: 5 west: Blazers, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs, Suns     1 East: Wizards -All 22 teams would play 8 more regular-season games  -Seedings can change throughout the 8 seeds and additional seeds -If the 9th seed in either conference is less than 4 games out of the 8th seed, there will be a play-in tournament for that last seed. -For the top seeds it is very unlikely that they would be put into a play in position if they lost most of those 8 games.  Vote is tomorrow 12:30 PM ET
