It's a "Podpourri"™ episode! The group dives into our most recent movie viewing; Doug gives kudos to FOX's coverage of the MLB special game...and (how could we leave this out) Star Trek gets a tip of the hat. 

Not gonna lie, this is a weird one. Stick with it, at least we had fun!

It's that time of year again for our meandering examination of the Oscar nods. We may not have seen all the movies but we mean well.

Holy crap! A new episode in less than a month. I guess listener Bruce got his wish...and it's a good one! Our friend and returning guest is Bill McDonald, head of Cinematography at UCLA Film School. We talk modern movie making and stuff. Grab a chair and enjoy.

The group listens patiently as Doug spouts off about the flicks he's seen this past summer season. He does allow the others to speak so it's not a total loss. Oh, and we add a Smartless promo to boot!

Time to see the Group's "remote drop" movies and TV shows. We also get sidetracked. (there was drinking) Enjoy the ride!

Second-time guest Chuck Weiss (recordist to the stars) joins us to talk Oscars, Marvel's recent outings and a brag-worthy Tweet exchange. Oh, and Philo mentions Star Trek.

Nicole had the great idea of having us finally watch movies we should've already seen by now and report back with a review. Everyone did a fine job...except for one of us.

For our 30th(!) episode, we talk film and TV music and scoring with Doug's old friend, composer/arranger/orchestrator Greg Pliska. Philo finds a way to include a Star Trek reference so operations normal. Doug apologizes for the overdriven audio levels...his struggles were self-inflicted. Enjoy!

Ever get caught going down a rat hole? How about a rabbit hole? We seemingly do both when surfing the internet for distractions. Our guest, Chuck Weiss, joins in on the discoveries.

We (mostly Nicole) jump into the Oscars with help from our pal Chuck Weiss. Chuck works in TV like us and is a big cinephile (TV too!)

The Group comes up with the most iconic motor vehicles to ever grace the big and small screens. A vroom time was had by all. (Yes, Star Trek is mentioned)

A more boisterous show this outing as we loudly discuss the Rolling Stone Top 50+ Sitcoms of all time. There is still room for Philo to squeeze in a Star Trek reference.

Our annual Oscar show is Nico's spotlight as the rest of us are too lazy to see all the films. Of course that doesn't stop us from adding our two cents.

As we enter "awards season" the Group's topic is...Tom Hanks movies! We pick apart a Rolling Stone Hanks countdown and see how much we agree with it...or not.

We finally finish up our conversation with Bill McDonald, Head of Cinematography at UCLA Film School. A focus on TV but we jump all over to talk cool shots and how tech has changed the industry.
