The Hair Metal Guru
by Anthony Bryant
Welcome to the Haircast! They call me the Hair Metal Guru. My name is Anthony, and I'm a retired Army veteran and former high school English teacher who lives for music. The main focus here will be hair metal, and the content will run the gamut--there will be rankings, reviews and commentary about happenings in the era of '80s hard rock. Does that mean I'll only talk about hair metal? Hell no. Could Bryan Adams creep into the conversation? Nirvana? Yes. But if you love hair metal, this is the place for you. Buckle up.

Bret Michaels’ NFL Success… Is This Bad News for Poison?
Bret Michaels just took the stage at the 2026 NFL Draft — and for fans of 80s rock and hair metal, it was a pretty surreal moment. In this video, Patrick and I break down Bret’s performance, what it says about his current level of success as a solo artist, and why that success might actually raise some serious questions about the future of Poison. With Bret continuing to land major opportunities like this — and still drawing big crowds on his own — does he even need a Poison reunion tour anymore? And if not… what does that mean for the band?Is this a win for Bret… but bad news for Poison?#BretMichaels #Poison #HairMetal #NFLDraft #80sRockPlease Like, Subscribe, & HYPE!! BREAKING: Ted Poley Calls Out Sebastian Bach After Cruise Incident
In this video, Jones and I break down the shocking situation involving Ted Poley of Danger Danger and former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach following the Monsters of Rock Cruise. After returning home, Ted took to Facebook with a lengthy post accusing Sebastian of being drunk, unruly, and even threatening to fight people onboard. PLUS, the story was corroborated by Tuff frontman and Metal Sludge founder Stevie Rachelle, who told me his own crazy Sebastian story from the cruise, and he also shared a great story about him mending some fences with Stryper frontman Michael Sweet.I'm assuming we'll be getting more people chiming in with their side of the story, and hopefully some video will drop of the incidents as well... but apparently it got crazy on the MORC!Join me and Jones as we talk about the details, the reactions, and what this could mean moving forward.#SebastianBach #TedPoley #StevieRachelle #Tuff #MetalSludge #DangerDanger #SkidRow #HairMetal #MonstersOfRockCruisePlease Like, Subscribe, & HYPE!! Should Bands Play Covers Live? Eddie Trunk vs Duff McKagan Debate
In this video, Ryan and I dive into a heated debate about whether bands should play cover songs during their live shows. It all started when Eddie Trunk questioned why bands would play covers when they already have massive catalogs of their own music—then Duff McKagan jumped in with the opposite take, saying it’s a great way to show respect and connect with fans. Ryan and I discussed each point and gave our opinion on the subject. So who’s right?Let’s break down both sides of the argument, look at real examples, and talk about whether covers belong in today’s live setlists.Do you think bands should play covers live, or stick to their own songs? ABOUT THIS SHOW
Welcome to the Haircast! Buckle up.
