When the Dead Teach the Living with Prof Lady Sue Black

From her early days working in a butcher's shop, she has risen to become the 37th President of St John's College at Oxford University and a member of the House of Lords. Scotland's First Black Professor - Sir Geoff Palmer
Mr Downie is joined by Sir Geoff Palmer, who is currently Professor Emeritus in the School of Life Sciences at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, and a human rights activist.In 1989, Sir Geoff became Scotland’s first black professor and is most famously known for having invented the barley abrasion process. Sir Geoff was knighted in the 2014 New Year’s Honours for services to human rights, science and charity.
