The Secret History of Chemo Pt1
Host Dean Jernigan welcomes guest Kara Bultman of the Hobby Hoe Club, as he introduces a WWII medical story tied to the origins of chemotherapy, stemming from a poison-gas-related accident the government tried to conceal. The episode sets the scene in Bari, Italy, in 1943 lax blackout conditions and a party atmosphere before a surprise German air raid devastated the harbor, destroyed ships and cargo, caused thousands of casualties. Dean then profiles Lt. Col. Stuart Francis Alexander, a young physician recruited into Chemical Warfare Services, or should we say DOCTOR AMERICA! Possibly THE most accomplished American to ever wear a uniform. DeanJernigancomedy.com , [email protected] Kara Bultman TikToc Hobbyhoeclub/ insta officailhobbybhoeclub

The Jugurthine War Pt2
In episode three of The History Pot, the host finishes the Jugurthine War, framing Rome’s struggle as a “Vietnam”-style guerrilla conflict. Massiva’s bid for Numidia is cut short when Jugurtha has him assassinated in Rome, leading to Jugurtha’s expulsion and renewed war. Spurius Albinus leaves his brother Aulus in command; Aulus disastrously pursues Jugurtha, is trapped, surrenders, and his army is humiliated under the yoke. Quintus Caecilius Metellus restores discipline, defeats Jugurtha in battle. Marius wins the consulship, reforms recruitment by enlisting the poor with state-supplied gear and retirement promises, campaigns harshly, and with Sulla negotiates King Bocchus’s betrayal: Jugurtha is delivered in chains, taken to Rome, paraded in triumph, and ceremonially strangled.
