The Most Hated Teaching in the Bible (And Why People Reject It)

Why Did Jesus Stay 40 Days After His Resurrection? (The Shocking Biblical Reason)

After rising from the dead, Jesus Christ didn’t immediately ascend to heaven… He walked the earth for 40 days. Why? Was it symbolic? Was it necessary? Or was God revealing something deeper about preparation, proof, and purpose? In this powerful teaching, we break down: ✔️ Why Jesus appeared for exactly 40 days after the resurrection ✔️ The biblical pattern of “40” as a season of testing and preparation ✔️ What Jesus taught His disciples during those 40 days ✔️ The real meaning behind the Ascension on the 40th day ✔️ How this connects to Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit ✔️ What your “40-day season” might look like right now This isn’t just theology… This is a timeline that reveals how God prepares people before He releases them. 📖 Key Scriptures Covered: Acts 1:3–9 Luke 24:44–49 John 20–21 ⚡ If you’ve ever wondered: “Why didn’t Jesus ascend immediately?” “What was the purpose of the 40 days?” “Is there prophetic meaning behind this timeline?” This video will give you clarity—and challenge you to see your own season differently.

Three Days and Three Nights, What did Jesus REALLY Mean?

Did Jesus really spend a full 72 hours in the grave… or is there something deeper going on in the text? In this episode, we tackle one of the most debated questions surrounding the resurrection: how do we reconcile Jesus’ statement about “three days and three nights” with the many passages that say He rose “on the third day”? At first glance, it may seem like a contradiction—but when we step into the first-century, Hebraic mindset of Scripture, everything begins to make sense. We break down: Why Jesus referenced Jonah—and what He actually meant The difference between modern timekeeping and biblical “inclusive reckoning” Old Testament patterns that clarify how “three days” was understood Why a strict 72-hour timeline doesn’t align with the full testimony of Scripture And what the resurrection accounts intentionally emphasize (and what they don’t) This episode isn’t about technicalities—it’s about clarity. When you understand how the original audience understood time, the tension disappears, and the truth shines even brighter. 👉 Jesus was crucified 👉 He was buried 👉 And He rose on the third day—just as He said No contradictions. No confusion. Just a deeper confidence in the reliability and beauty of God’s Word. If you’ve ever wrestled with this question—or want to help someone who has—this episode will equip you with both understanding and confidence. 🎧 Listen now and discover why the power of the resurrection isn’t in counting hours… but in the reality that the tomb is empty. #bible #podcast #truth

Passover to Easter How Did This Happen? #podcast #biblehistory #faith

Did you know Easter didn’t start the way most people think? In this episode, we explore the powerful and often overlooked connection between Passover and Easter—and how a biblically commanded feast became a globally recognized Christian holiday. Starting in Exodus 12, Passover reveals God’s plan of redemption through the blood of the lamb. Fast forward to the New Testament, and we see Jesus—the Lamb of God—crucified during Passover, fulfilling everything it pointed to. So how did the early church go from celebrating Passover (Pascha) to observing Easter Sunday? In this podcast, we break down: The biblical foundation of Passover How Jesus fulfilled Passover prophetically What the early church actually practiced The Quartodeciman controversy The impact of the Council of Nicaea (325 AD) Why the church separated from the Hebrew calendar What was lost—and what can be rediscovered today This isn’t just history—it’s about understanding the full story of redemption and seeing Jesus in the richness of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. 👉 Jesus didn’t replace Passover… He fulfilled it. #Passover #Easter #Jesus #BiblicalTruth #ChristianHistory #HebrewRoots #Messiah #BibleStudy #Faith #Gospel #ChurchHistory #Yeshua #KingdomOfGod #Exodus12 #Nicaea #EarlyChurch

    Being Discipled by the Algorithm?

What’s shaping your thoughts, your beliefs, your emotions, and your faith? In this powerful episode, we expose the hidden reality of algorithmic discipleship—how platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook are quietly forming your worldview one scroll at a time. Jesus called us to be discipled in truth… but what happens when our attention is being shaped by engagement-driven systems instead of the Word of God? 📖 In this episode, we cover: What “discipleship by algorithms” really means How your feed is shaping your desires and beliefs The danger of echo chambers and influencer theology Why distraction may be the enemy’s most effective strategy How to reclaim intentional, Christ-centered discipleship This is more than a conversation about social media—this is about your soul formation. ⚠️ If we are not being discipled by Jesus… something else is discipling us. #Discipleship #ChristianPodcast #FaithAndCulture #SocialMedia #SpiritualGrowth #BiblicalTruth #ChristianLiving #JesusIsKing #MindRenewal #DigitalAge

Is Passover for Christians or Just Jews?

Is Passover only a Jewish feast — or is it one of Scripture’s clearest pictures of Jesus? In this episode, we unpack the powerful connection between Exodus 12 and the crucifixion of Christ. Discover how: • The spotless lamb points to the sinless Messiah • The blood on the doorposts foreshadows the cross • Unleavened bread reveals a life without sin • The Passover cup anticipates the New Covenant • Fulfillment does not abolish — it reveals fullness From Egypt to Calvary to Revelation, the Lamb was always coming. Forgiveness, Vision, and Kingdom Purpose in Marriage

What makes a marriage truly unshakable? In this episode, we explore how shared faith, shared prayer, and shared purpose create spiritual unity in marriage. Forgiveness, Renewal, and Redeemed Intimacy | Marriage & the Gospel

Every marriage encounters moments of distance. Misunderstandings. Unspoken hurts. Seasons when closeness fades. What determines the health of a marriage isn’t whether wounds happen—but how quickly forgiveness flows. In this episode, we explore how forgiveness restores intimacy and how redeemed closeness becomes a living picture of the gospel. Intimacy doesn’t erode because love disappears—it weakens when unresolved wounds remain. Resentment hardens hearts. Silence becomes punishment. Distance becomes leverage. But grace breaks the cycle. Drawing from Scripture, we look at: Why you can’t experience closeness while holding onto resentment How forgiveness releases control without minimizing pain Jesus’ restoration of Peter in John 21 as a model for marital healing Why unresolved anger quietly erodes intimacy How reconciliation restores safety and grace revives closeness The difference between intimacy as performance and intimacy as partnership How redeemed intimacy reflects Christ and the Church Marriage was never meant to be transactional—it was meant to be sacred. When emotional, physical, and spiritual intimacy are renewed by grace, even broken places can become beautiful again. Nothing is beyond redemption. Nothing is beyond renewal. 🎙️ HHP Podcast Honest conversations about Bible, marriage, church, and family. 👉 Like, share, comment, and subscribe to join the conversation 👉 Support the podcast and access resources at hff.church 👉 Looking for a church home? Safe Enough to Be Known | Vulnerability, Grace & Emotional Intimacy

“You can’t be fully loved if you’re not fully known.” It sounds simple—but it’s deeply challenging. In this episode, we continue our marriage series by exploring emotional intimacy, vulnerability, and the role safety and grace play in building deep, lasting connection. Many marriages don’t struggle because love is gone—but because emotional safety has slowly eroded. Conversations become guarded. Hearts grow quiet. Conflict is avoided instead of healed. From the beginning, Scripture tells us that Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed—not just physically, but emotionally. Nothing hidden. Nothing guarded. But when shame entered the story, hiding followed. That same pattern shows up in marriage today. In this conversation, we discuss: Why intimacy grows in the soil of safety How grace makes vulnerability possible Why vulnerability is courage, not weakness The danger of emotional withdrawal and guarded hearts How emotional check-ins rebuild connection Choosing curiosity over defensiveness Why presence matters more than perfection Healthy intimacy doesn’t come from fixing, correcting, or controlling—it comes from listening, grace, and creating space where your spouse feels safe enough to be known. Because vulnerability without grace leads to shame. But vulnerability covered by grace leads to unity. When hearts open, intimacy flourishes. 🎙️ HHP Podcast Hosted by Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church (Oklahoma City) Real conversations about Bible, church, marriage, and family. 👉 Like, share, comment, and subscribe to join the conversation 👉 Support the podcast and find more resources at hff.church 👉 Looking for a church home? Intimacy Is the Glue of Covenant | Rediscovering Connection in Marriage (Part 1)

Over the last few weeks, we’ve talked about building healthy marriages—and how those same foundations strengthen our relationships at work, church, and in everyday life. Now, we’re turning our attention to something many couples quietly struggle with but rarely understand fully: intimacy. In this episode, we kick off a three-week series on intimacy through the covenant of marriage. But we’re going deeper than just physical connection. True intimacy is emotional, spiritual, and physical—and all three are inseparably connected. When one is out of balance, the others are affected. Many marriages today are close in schedule but distant in soul. Busy. Faithful. Functional. Yet intimacy has slowly drifted into routine—or tension. Scripture reminds us that from the beginning, marriage was designed to be sacred: two becoming one, naked and unashamed—not just in body, but in heart. In this conversation, we explore: Why intimacy is not about performance, but presence How emotional and spiritual disconnect often impacts physical intimacy Why intimacy is the glue of covenant, not an accessory The danger of busyness, withholding, and transactional love How love languages, communication, and mutual honor rebuild connection Why intimacy grows through small, consistent, faithful steps This episode isn’t about pressure or control—it’s about alignment, safety, and rediscovering oneness. Intimacy can be rebuilt. Slowly. Gently. Faithfully. And when hearts reconnect, everything else begins to follow. 🎙️ Welcome to the HHP Podcast Hosted by Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City Join voices from around the country as we talk all things Bible, church, and family. Forgiveness, Renewed Vision, and Shared Kingdom Purpose in Marriage

Even Christ-centered marriages experience conflict, hurt, and seasons of weariness. The difference isn’t whether pain happens—it’s how quickly forgiveness flows and whether God’s purpose remains alive. In this episode, we build on the foundation of shared faith and explore what happens after the anchor is set. Drawing from John 21, Romans 12:2, Habakkuk 2:2, and Psalm 127, we talk about how forgiveness protects spiritual unity, how renewed vision keeps marriages from drifting into routine, and how shared purpose transforms a relationship into a living witness of the Kingdom of God. In this conversation, you’ll learn: Why forgiveness is essential for spiritual intimacy and unity How praying together after conflict disarms division The danger of unspoken disappointment and delayed repentance How to renew vision and align your marriage with God’s calling Why your marriage was designed to be a Kingdom witness, not just a private relationship We also share practical rhythms—like vision nights, praying after disagreements, and serving together—that help couples stay aligned, purposeful, and spiritually alive. This episode closes with a prayer over your marriage—that it wouldn’t simply endure, but flourish, reflecting unity, redemption, and shared mission in Christ. 💬 Whether you’re rebuilding, refocusing, or simply longing for more purpose, this message will help you see your marriage through a Kingdom lens. 👉 Like, subscribe, and share to encourage other couples to pursue forgiveness, renewed vision, and a Christ-centered mission—together. #ChristianMarriage #MarriagePodcast #FaithBasedMarriage #MarriageAdvice #ChristianRelationships #ChristianMarriage #MarriagePodcast #FaithBasedMarriage #BiblicalMarriage #JesusAtTheCenter #ChristianPodcast #MarriageAdvice #FaithAndFamily #ChristCentered #KingdomMarriage #MarriageMinistry #PrayTogether #ChristianYouTube

Anchoring Your Marriage in Christ & Community

What’s the difference between a marriage that merely survives and one that truly thrives? It’s not just compatibility, communication, or shared interests—it’s shared faith. In this episode, we talk about what it really means to anchor your marriage in Christ—not as a religious routine, but as a daily, intentional pursuit of Jesus together. Drawing from Ecclesiastes 4:12, we explore how Christ as the third strand brings strength, clarity, and purpose when life gets turbulent. You’ll hear practical, pastoral insight on: Why spiritual unity matters more than personality compatibility How quiet spiritual drift slowly creates distance in marriage Simple, intentional practices like praying, worshiping, and growing in faith together Why marriage is meant to be a safe spiritual community—not a solo journey How shared faith builds accountability, vulnerability, and lasting unity We also challenge couples to ask honest questions: Are we growing spiritually together—or just living side by side? This episode closes with a prayer over your marriage and a preview of what’s next as we move into forgiveness, renewed vision, and shared Kingdom purpose. 💬 Whether you’re newly married, struggling, or thriving—this conversation will help you realign your marriage around Christ, not convenience. 👉 Like, share, subscribe, and join us as we pursue faith, family, and the Kingdom—together.   #ChristianMarriage #MarriagePodcast #FaithBasedMarriage #MarriageAdvice #ChristianRelationships #ChristianMarriage #MarriagePodcast #FaithBasedMarriage #BiblicalMarriage #JesusAtTheCenter #ChristianPodcast #MarriageAdvice #FaithAndFamily #ChristCentered #KingdomMarriage #MarriageMinistry #PrayTogether #ChristianYouTube

Trust and Transparency in a Messy World

Trust and transparency—two words that make most of us cringe. Why? Because today we live in a world where promises break, loyalty feels rare, and honesty is hard to come by. It’s tough to trust when people let you down. It’s even harder to live openly when guilt, shame, and judgment seem to follow you everywhere—from your marriage to your church community. But what if trust and transparency aren’t threats... What if they’re lifelines? In this episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke (HFF Church, Oklahoma City) digs deep into the spiritual foundations of trust rooted in Christ—not culture, not fear, and definitely not control. Together we explore: ✨ Why trust is soil where love grows ✨ How shame shuts down connection and why Jesus calls us back into the light ✨ Three daily habits that build trust over time (not overnight) ✨ Why transparency isn’t oversharing—it’s integrity ✨ How confession, accountability, and community unlock healing ✨ The difference between building walls for protection and building bridges for relationship ✨ Why forgiveness frees you, even when others fail ✨ And how God can redeem even betrayal and turn your story into testimony We’ll also ask hard but necessary questions: Am I trustworthy? Do I hide when confronted? Who can speak truth to me without fear? What lies am I believing about God—and about myself? Because trust doesn’t start with people. It starts with God. So join us as we confront fear, choose honesty over hiding, and learn how to walk in the vulnerability Jesus modeled—not the shame the enemy whispers. Faith in Action: Practical Ways to Care for the Poor & Oppressed

Last week, we explored what the Bible teaches about injustice and God’s heart for the poor, the widows, the orphans, and the needy. In this episode, we bring that conversation home with practical, everyday ways believers can live out justice, mercy, and compassion as a reflection of the Spirit of Jesus—under the authority of our King, Jesus. Welcome to the HHP Podcast. My name is Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. Together with believers from around the country, we talk all things Bible, church, and family—wrestling honestly with Scripture and what it means to live the Kingdom of God in daily life. We may be right. We may be heretical. That’s for you to decide. Building off James 2:15–16, we ask a vital question: 👉 What does obedience to Jesus actually look like when it comes to caring for those in need? Biblical compassion isn’t limited to street corners or food banks. Scripture shows us that poverty is often hidden—in our churches, families, workplaces, and communities. Justice begins when we open our eyes, pay attention, and intentionally step into what God is already doing around us. 📖 Key Scriptures Explored: James 2:15–16 Proverbs 31:8 Acts 2:45 Romans 12:13 Proverbs 24:11 Luke 3:11 Luke 4:18 🛠 Practical Themes Covered: Seeing the unseen needs around us Sharing what we already have Hospitality as dignity, not charity Advocacy for those without a voice Giving consistently, not seasonally Walking toward suffering like Jesus did Justice that walks. Mercy that lives. Faith that shows up. Justice a Core Gospel Issue | Caring for the Poor, the Vulnerable & the Oppressed

Justice, mercy, and humility are not optional add-ons to the Christian life—they sit at the very heart of the Kingdom of God. In this episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church, walks through Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—to show how God’s heart consistently beats for the poor, the widow, the orphan, the foreigner, and the oppressed. This is not a political trend. This is not a cultural moment. This is a gospel issue. Rooted in passages like Micah 6:8, Proverbs 14:31, Isaiah 1:17, Matthew 25:40, and James 2:15–16, we explore what biblical justice actually looks like—not punishment or revenge, but restoration. Justice in Scripture is active, practiced, and embodied through obedience, mercy, and humility. Jesus makes it unmistakably clear: how we treat “the least of these” is how we treat Him. Faith that never moves our hands has not yet moved our hearts. Join us as we wrestle honestly with Scripture, discipleship, and what it means to live out the Kingdom of God in everyday life. 📌 Topics Covered: Why justice is central to the gospel God’s heart for the poor and vulnerable Biblical justice vs. cultural definitions Restoration, not revenge Faith that moves beyond words into action 🙏 Support the Mission If this podcast has blessed you, consider supporting the work we’re doing by visiting https://hff.church. 🏠 Looking for a church home? Keeping a Spiritually Clean Home: Repentance, Rest, and Rhythms of Renewal

Most parents want a clean home. Even those who don’t meet someone else’s standard still desire order, tidiness, and peace. We put enormous energy into physical chores—vacuuming before company comes over, rushing the kids to pick up toys, stuffing laundry behind a door. But if we care so much about physical cleanliness… why do we pay so little attention to the spiritual cleanliness of our homes? Welcome to the HHP Podcast. I’m Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. Join me and others from around the country as we talk all things Bible, church, and family. We may be right… we may be heretical… but that’s for you to decide. Drop a like, comment, share, subscribe—and let’s get to it. Today’s Episode: Repentance Keeps the Home Clean In Judaism, Christianity, and even many world religions, the physical and spiritual are always intertwined. So why do we clean frantically for guests—yet ignore the emotional dust, spiritual clutter, and relational messes piling up in our home? In this episode, we explore: Why repentance and forgiveness are the spiritual “cleaning supplies” of a healthy home How every household gets messy—emotionally, spiritually, relationally Why the healthiest families aren’t conflict-free, but conflict-clean How modeling repentance teaches children that mistakes don’t end love—they begin healing Why unforgiveness hardens the heart but repentance softens it How confession lightens the emotional weight in the home Why lingering silence, passive-aggressive tones, and held grudges poison family culture The spiritual discipline of rest and why hurried homes create anxious hearts How Isaiah 30:15 reveals that rest restores the soul Why Sabbath rhythms teach children that worth is not found in productivity How your habits become the liturgy of your household—the worship of your daily life Why gratitude, forgiveness, joy, rest, and prayer preach louder than any sermon Habits are liturgy. Rhythms are worship. Your home is always preaching something. When your patterns embody prayer, peace, repentance, gratitude, and rest, you teach your children that God is both holy and near. The goal isn’t a perfect home—none exist. The goal is a faithful home, a Christ-centered household where everyone knows who truly holds the family together: Jesus, and the Spirit of Jesus. Philippians 4:9 says: “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Let your daily rhythms become your family’s clearest testimony. Reflection for Today Am I cleaning physical messes faster than I’m addressing spiritual ones? Do I model repentance or let wounds linger? Does my home have space for rest—or is busyness running it? What habits are preaching to my children right now—complaining or gratitude? Habits That Shape Your Home: Building a Culture Your Children Can Imitate

This week on the HHP Podcast, we’re talking about one of the most overlooked truths in parenting: The culture of your home is shaped less by what you preach and more by what you permit. Your habits, your tone, your rhythms, and even what you tolerate all quietly disciple your children—every single day. Welcome to the HHP Podcast. I’m Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. Join me and others from around the country as we talk all things Bible, church, and family. We may be right… we may be heretical… but that’s for you to decide. Drop a like, share, comment, subscribe—and let’s get to it. Today’s Episode: Habits Become Heritage The culture of your home will shape the culture of your church—and your children will live out the habits they see more than the words they hear. Children imitate your walk, not your talk. Deuteronomy 6:7 commands us to speak of God’s ways throughout our daily lives, but if we talk about faith without practicing it, we unintentionally teach our children that it’s okay to live one way publicly and another way privately. In this episode we explore: Why what you tolerate becomes the culture you teach How household habits either bring life or chaos into the church community Why pastor’s kids struggle—and why it’s not just pastors How small, ordinary repetitions shape eternal values Why faith is formed in everyday practices: bedtime prayers, forgiveness after conflict, gratitude before meals Why habits become heritage, not just routine How Luke 16:10 teaches that spiritual faithfulness grows through small acts repeated consistently Why spiritual rhythms anchor the soul of your home Why the three anchors of a healthy household are: pray together, eat together, rest together How your example becomes your child’s first discipleship model Why hypocrisy breeds confusion—but authenticity builds trust What it means to model worship, generosity, prayer, and grace How gratitude reshapes the emotional tone of your home Your habits preach louder than your words. If they observe forgiveness, they will learn mercy. If they observe prayer, they will learn dependence on God. If they observe gratitude, they will learn joy. What you model, they will mirror. This episode will guide you in building the rhythms that create a home filled with life, not tension—thanksgiving, not complaining—worship, not worry. Reflection Questions for Parents What habits am I actually cultivating in my home? What do my children believe I value based on my daily rhythms? Do my actions reflect the Christ I want my children to follow? Are we practicing gratitude more than complaining? What habits am I tolerating that contradict the culture I want? Consistency & Connection: The Parenting Rhythm That Shapes the Heart

One of the hardest things for modern parents—especially in a culture built on trends, fads, and constant change—is consistency. But consistency is one of the purest forms of love a child can receive. It communicates safety, stability, and trust in a world full of noise. Welcome to the HHP Podcast. I'm Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. Join me and others from around the country as we talk all things Bible, church, and family. We may be right… we may be heretical… but that’s for you to decide. Drop a like, a comment, share the episode, subscribe—and let’s get to it. Today’s Episode: Why Consistency Communicates Love As parents, we know consistency is difficult. We’re tired, we’re busy, we’re stretched thin. But Jesus gives us one of the simplest and most profound principles: “Let your ‘yes’ be yes, and your ‘no’ be no.” — Matthew 5:37 Inconsistency confuses children and undermines their trust. When expectations shift with our moods, our leadership becomes unpredictable—and unpredictability breeds insecurity. In this episode we explore: Why consistency = security How predictability helps children flourish emotionally and spiritually Why inconsistency—even unintentional—can create fear and anxiety in a child Why consistency doesn’t mean perfection; it means dependability How following through gently and firmly communicates love Why transparency matters when we mess up—and how apologizing strengthens connection Why correction must always lead to reconnection How withdrawing love after discipline distorts a child’s view of God How Ephesians 6:4 and Revelation 3:19 reveal God’s model for restorative discipline Why correction without reconnection leaves wounds, but correction with compassion creates discipleship How pausing and praying before discipline protects your child—and your relationship Your children need to know what to expect from you, even when you’re tired, frustrated, or overwhelmed. Because correction should always lead to connection, not distance. Every consequence should end with reassurance: “I love you. We’ll grow through this together. God has us.” This is how God loves us—and how we model His heart to our children. A Parenting Prayer for Today “Holy Spirit, lead my words, my tone, and my actions. Let my correction reflect Your gentleness, not my frustration. Make my consistency a testimony of Your faithful love.”

The Heart of Discipline: Parenting with Love & Boundaries

The topic of discipline in the 21st century is complicated. Many adults carry the wounds of abusive or unhealthy childhoods, and in response they either swing toward free-range parenting with no structure… or subconsciously replicate the very model they swore they’d never repeat. But biblically, discipline is not optional—and when done God’s way, it produces life, not fear. Welcome to the HHP Podcast. My name is Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. Join me and others from around the country as we talk all things Bible, church, and family. We may be right, we may be heretical—but that’s for you to decide. Drop a like, a comment, a share, subscribe, and let’s get to it. Today’s Episode: Discipline Is About the Heart, Not Behavior God disciplines His children—and Scripture calls us to do the same. But biblical discipline isn’t about punishing behavior. It’s about training the heart. In this episode, we explore: Why heart training matters more than behavior management How the Torah emphasized the outward, but Jesus emphasized the inner transformation Why godly discipline prepares, rather than punishes How consistent boundaries build trust, not fear Why love without discipline leads to rebellion—and discipline without love leads to resentment How empowered obedience creates lifelong trust, while blind obedience creates future rebellion Why boundaries are not barriers to freedom, but environments where freedom flourishes How calm, consistent authority reflects the heart of the Father (Hebrews 12:6) Why the goal is not to control your child, but to steward their heart toward Christ Proverbs 4:23 reminds us: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Your child’s behavior flows from their beliefs. Change the heart—and the actions follow. This episode teaches parents to ask heart-shaping questions: “Why did you do that?” “What were you thinking in that moment?” “What was going on inside you?” Not just: “Don’t do that.” Rules without relationship create rebellion. Relationship with guidance creates maturity. What Healthy Boundaries Produce Safety, not fear Confidence, not confusion Responsibility, not rebellion Freedom within structure (Psalm 16:6) Use calm explanations instead of threats. Connect correction to protection. Say, “I’m guiding you because I love you,” not, “Do this because I said so.” Ask yourself: Do my boundaries create peace in my home… or fear? Your job isn’t to control your child. Your job is to guide them toward Christ.

Parenting from Peace: Spiritual Stability for the Home Part 2

Every parent knows what instability feels like—rage one minute, joy the next, frustration right after. For years, I lived that cycle myself. Ministry pressures followed me home, and I would swing between extremes. I loved my kids deeply, but my emotional instability often set the tone of the household. Eventually, I realized a hard truth: My home could never be more stable than my spirit. Isaiah 26:3 reminds us, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast.” A child can only feel as secure as their parent is grounded. In this episode, we talk about: Why spiritual grounding is the root of emotional grounding How children absorb the anxiety, anger, or peace we carry The “lifeguard principle” of parenting: you must stabilize yourself before rescuing anyone else Why peace isn’t built by routines but by God’s presence saturating those routines How grace—not perfection—is what creates long-term stability The rhythms, habits, and prayers that help form a peaceful home How your emotional tone becomes your child’s first theology What it means to replace chaos with Spirit-led consistency How parents can model Christ in the moments that matter most Scripture tells us: “The fruit of righteousness will be peace…” — Isaiah 32:17 “Do not provoke your children…” — Colossians 3 “God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” — 1 Corinthians 14 “Practice these things… and the God of peace will be with you.” — Philippians 4:9 You don’t need perfect routines—you need Spirit-led rhythms. You don’t need control—you need communion. And you don’t need to be the perfect parent—you just need to be a peaceful presence. Reflection Questions from Today’s Episode Does my home feel peaceful or pressured? Are my children confident in what to expect from me daily? Where can I replace chaos with consistency? What does my tone teach my children about God? Have I made peace the pursuit of my home—or perfection? Connect & Support If this episode blessed you, consider supporting the ministry at HFF.house. Shepherding & Stewarding Your Children Part 1

In this episode, we explore the heart of biblical parenting—not behavior control, but heart formation. Children thrive when structure shapes their days and love grounds their identity. Scripture reminds us: “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established.” — Proverbs 24:3 “Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40 We unpack why: Structure builds stability, but love builds confidence Extreme parenting—too loose or too strict—fails to train the heart Predictable rhythms (meals, prayer, chores, bedtime blessings) create emotional safety Parents disciple children into either steadiness or chaos Your tone, presence, and reactions shape how your children imagine God Authority must reflect Psalm 103: compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love Daily habits should reflect God’s character—not fear, instability, or emotional volatility You’ll walk away with practical, biblical tools to help your home become a place of peace, predictability, warmth, and Christlike formation. Your Role in Creating a Healthy Church Podcast | Part 2

How do you help make your church healthy? 💭 In this powerful conclusion to our two-part series, Pastor Chris Franke of HFF Church in Oklahoma City explores your personal role in building a Jesus-centered, Spirit-led, and servant-hearted church. Healthy churches don’t happen by accident — they’re built by people, not programs. And the truth is, the church will only ever be as healthy as the people who make it up. 🔑 This Episode Covers: 1️⃣ Serve Faithfully & Humbly Jesus said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” (Mark 10:45) A healthy church is led by servants, not celebrities — by people who care more about washing feet than building platforms. 2️⃣ Walk in Fruit, Not Just Gifts Many want the gifts of the Spirit, but few cultivate the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22–23) reminds us that true transformation happens when love, patience, kindness, and self-control define our lives — not just our ministries. 3️⃣ Stop Complaining — Start Contributing If you see something missing in your church, fill the gap instead of fueling the gossip. Be the solution God can use to bring healing, maturity, and revival. Healthy churches are not perfect churches — they’re repentant churches. They’re families on mission, walking in humility, fruitfulness, and unity. So before saying, “My church isn’t healthy,” ask yourself: “Am I bringing health to it — or am I part of what’s keeping it sick?” 🎧 Welcome to the Hopeful Heretic Podcast (HHP) Join Pastor Chris Franke and others from around the country as we talk all things Bible, church, and family. Your Role in Creating Healthy Churches Podcast | Part 1

How can you help make your church healthy? 💡 In this episode of the Hopeful Heretic Podcast (HHP), Pastor Chris Franke from HFF Church in Oklahoma City challenges listeners to move from consumers to contributors — from spectators to participants in the Body of Christ. Over the past two weeks, we’ve unpacked what defines a healthy church — a Christ-centered foundation, sound doctrine, authentic community, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. But today we turn the question back on ourselves: 👉 What can YOU do to make your church healthy? 🔑 Key Points Covered: 1️⃣ Be a Participant, Not a Consumer Stop asking, “What did I get out of church?” and start asking, “What did I contribute to it?” (Hebrews 10:24–25) 2️⃣ Be Rooted in the Word, Not in Opinion A healthy church requires spiritually rooted members who anchor themselves in the truth of Scripture — not emotion, not popularity. (2 Timothy 3:16–17) 3️⃣ Build Relationships That Heal, Not Hurt Unity isn’t about perfection; it’s about forgiveness, humility, and reconciliation. (Ephesians 4:2–3) Healthy churches don’t just happen by accident — they’re built on people, not programs. When you live biblically, love humbly, and serve faithfully, you bring health to the house of God. So before asking, “Is my church healthy?” ask yourself: “Am I helping it become healthy?” 🎧 Welcome to the HHP Podcast — where we talk all things Bible, church, and family. We may be right. What is a Healthy Church Podcast | Part 2

What does a healthy church actually look like? 🤔 In this week’s episode of the Hopeful Heretic Podcast (HHP), Pastor Chris Franke of HFF Church in Oklahoma City wraps up this powerful two-part series on What Makes a Healthy Church. Last week we explored: 📖 1 Corinthians 3 — Jesus as the only true foundation 📖 2 Timothy 3:16 — Biblical authority and sound doctrine 📖 Acts 2:42 — Authentic, Spirit-led community This week we conclude with the next four marks of a truly Jesus-centered church: 1️⃣ Discipleship & Spiritual Growth — Churches aren’t called to create consumers; they’re called to form apprentices of Jesus (Matthew 28:19). 2️⃣ Mission & Evangelism — The Church exists to transform homes, neighborhoods, and nations (Acts 1:8). 3️⃣ Servant Leadership — True shepherds serve in humility and accountability, not control or celebrity (Matthew 23:11). 4️⃣ Presence of the Holy Spirit — Not by might, not by programs, but by God’s Spirit (Zechariah 4:6). Because a healthy church isn’t perfect — it’s repentant. It’s a place where truth and grace meet, where Jesus is enthroned above all, and where transformed people multiply transformation. 💭 Ask yourself: “Is my church healthy?” Or maybe the better question is — “Am I healthy?” 🎧 Welcome to the HHP Podcast — where we talk all things Bible, church, and family. ⚔️ “The Church Isn’t Broken — We Are.” | Why You Still Need the Body of Christ

It’s trendy in 2025 to deconstruct, criticize, and abandon the Church. But what if rejecting the Church means rejecting the very system Jesus designed to heal you? Welcome to the Hopeful Heretic Podcast with Pastor Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. In this episode, we tackle one of the most polarizing topics in modern Christianity — “Why the Church Still Matters.” 🔥 In this episode, you’ll discover: Why “church hurt” isn’t new — it’s a human problem, not a God problem. How the adversary uses offense and isolation to pull believers from God’s design. Why rebellion begins with distrusting that God knows what’s best for His people. How Hebrews 10 and 1 Corinthians 12 prove you cannot grow spiritually in isolation. Why accountability, structure, and leadership are not oppression — they’re protection. How the Church — flawed, messy, and human — remains the only system Jesus calls His Bride. 📖 Key Scriptures: Hebrews 10:24–25 | 1 Corinthians 12 | Romans 12 | 1 Timothy 3 | Titus 1 | Galatians 6 | Psalm 95 | Matthew 18 💡 Big Takeaway: You can’t love Jesus and reject His Body. When you walk away from the Church, you’re walking away from the structure Christ Himself leads. 👑 The Church isn’t perfect — but it’s necessary. It’s the training ground for saints, the hospital for sinners, and the billboard for the Kingdom of Heaven. 🎧 Listen Now: “The Church Isn’t Broken — We Are.” 👉 Like | 💬 Comment | 🔔 Subscribe | 🔗 Share this message of Kingdom truth If this podcast blessed you, visit hff.church   #HHPodcast #HopefulHereticPodcast #HFFChurch #ChurchHurt #Deconstruction #WhyChurchMatters #BodyOfChrist #Ecclesia #KingdomInAction #JesusIsHead #ChristianPodcast #AccountabilityAndStructure #FaithCommunity #ChurchLeadership #HolySpiritPower #BiblicalChurch #ChristianFaith #EndTimesChurch #Hebrews10 #1Corinthians12 #SpiritualMaturity #GospelTruth

The Prophetic Rehersal of The Day of Atonement for Christians (Yom Kippur)

🔥 The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) isn’t just an “Old Testament holiday” — it’s one of the most prophetic, Christ-centered rehearsals in Scripture. What if this ancient feast holds the clearest picture of the cross, the loudest call to repentance, and the most urgent prophetic sign of Jesus’ return? 📖 In this episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke of HFF Church in Oklahoma City dives deep into the history, prophecy, and present-day power of Yom Kippur. From Leviticus 16 to Hebrews 9–10, we uncover how the blood of Jesus fulfills every detail of the Day of Atonement. Two goats. One sacrifice. One scapegoat. Both pointing to Christ. 👑 Yom Kippur is not dead religion — it’s living revelation. It shakes us with the reality that sin cannot be hidden, rebellion cannot be managed, and repentance cannot be delayed. This feast is a prophetic rehearsal of the day when the Cross and the Crown collide at Jesus’ return (Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26; Revelation 1:7). ✨ Whether you’re new to the biblical feasts or a seasoned believer, this teaching will challenge and equip you to see why Yom Kippur matters for every Christian today. 👉 Topics we cover in this teaching: The powerful symbolism of the scapegoat and the blood sacrifice How Hebrews unlocks the meaning of the Day of Atonement Why ignoring Yom Kippur waters down the cross How this feast calls us to true repentance, not cheap grace The prophetic connection to the return of King Jesus 🔔 Don’t miss this powerful episode! How Christians Can Apply the Feast of Trumpets in Everyday Life | Part 3

Welcome back to the Hopeful Heretic Podcast (HHP) with Pastor Chris Frankie of HFF Church in Oklahoma City. In this episode, we dive deep into the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah)—not just from the Old Testament or prophetic perspective of Christ’s return, but from the lens of how we live it out today. How should Christians approach the Feast of Trumpets in daily discipleship when we don’t live in Israel, don’t have the temple, priesthood, or sacrificial system? What does it look like to walk out repentance, reconciliation, forgiveness, holiness, and urgency in our modern lives? And how do the Ten Days of Awe leading up to Yom Kippur apply to believers in Jesus today? Pastor Chris explores the dangers of works-based salvation, the call to genuine forgiveness (Matthew 6), living with urgency (Ephesians 5), cultivating holiness (1 Peter 1), and being awake to eternity (Romans 13). The trumpet blast is not a call to hide—it’s a call to live awake, reconciled, and joyfully prepared for the coming Kingdom of God. The Final Banquet: Matthew 26 and the Last Supper | HHP Podcast All of Jesus’ teaching, miracles, and mission point to one climactic moment: the final banquet in Matthew 26. Commonly known as the Last Supper—or Pesach in the Messianic tradition—this intimate meal with His disciples was more than bread and wine. Banquets of the Kingdom: From Table Fellowship to Miraculous Feasts

The HHP Podcast | The Kingdom Banquet: Feeding the Multitudes (Matthew 14–15) This week on the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke (Senior Pastor of HFF Church, Oklahoma City) continues our journey through the banquet imagery in the Gospel of Matthew. After looking at the Kingdom table in Matthew 9—where Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners, sparking outrage from the religious leaders—we now turn to one of the most famous banquets of all: the feeding of the 5,000 and the 4,000 (Matthew 14–15). These miraculous feedings were more than meals in the wilderness. They were living testimonies that Jesus is the Bread of Life, the Living Water, and the fulfillment of Israel’s long-awaited hope. Through breaking, blessing, and giving bread, Jesus not only fed hungry crowds but foreshadowed the communion table and revealed that the Kingdom of Heaven isn’t far off—it’s here, now, and available in Him. Join us as we explore: 🍞 Why the feedings were real, literal, and deeply symbolic 🍞 How Matthew ties these miracles into the bigger banquet theme of the Kingdom 🍞 Why Jesus satisfying physical hunger points to Him as the only One who can satisfy our deepest spiritual hunger We may be right. Can you imagine getting invited to sit at the table with Jesus Himself—the Messiah—only to say… "I'm too busy"? In this week’s episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke rewinds from Matthew 22 to Matthew 9:10–13 to explore a deeper layer of the banquet metaphor. This time, Jesus isn’t dining with kings or religious elites—but with tax collectors and sinners. 📖 What does it mean when the King of Heaven reclines at a table with the outcasts? Why were the “righteous” offended? And how often do we create our own spiritual hierarchies that push people away from the table of grace? 🕯️ We’ll discuss: The historical and cultural meaning of reclining at a feast The contrast between the Passover and Greek symposiums Why Jesus’ choice of dinner companions shattered religious expectations How self-righteousness still divides us today The power of grace and restoration at the table of the Kingdom This isn’t just about meals—it’s about mission. Jesus didn't come for those who think they have it all figured out. He came for those who know they need saving. And His table is open to them… and to us. 🙏 If this episode has blessed you, consider sharing it with someone who needs to know they’re invited too. 👍 Like | 💬 Comment | 🔔 Subscribe | 📤 Share 🌐 Support or find more content at https://hff.church 📍 Join us for Saturday Church in Oklahoma City every Saturday at 10:30 AM. #JesusAndSinners #Matthew9 #BanquetOfGrace #HHPPodcast #MessianicFaith #ChurchPodcast #KingdomOfHeaven #TaxCollectorsAndSinners #HFFChurchOKC

The Banquet Is Ready | Matthew 22 & the Kingdom Invitation

What does a banquet have to do with the Kingdom of Heaven? In this episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke explores the powerful imagery of the banquet throughout Scripture—especially in Matthew 22, where Jesus tells the parable of the wedding feast. This isn't just about food, fellowship, or fun. It’s about the radical invitation of the Gospel, the seriousness of sacred space, and the glory of entering God's Kingdom on His terms—not ours. 🕯️ We’ll explore: Why many rejected the King’s invitation What it means to show up “unprepared” How the banquet reveals the heart of the Gospel The cultural context of feasting and its eternal implications How this connects to the Messianic understanding of God’s feasts Whether you’ve studied Matthew for years or you're just starting, this conversation will challenge, encourage, and hopefully deepen your understanding of what it truly means to be invited to God’s table. 🔔 Subscribe for more Bible deep-dives, church & family discussions, and cultural commentary rooted in Scripture. 👍 Like | 💬 Comment | 📤 Share with a friend 🌐 Learn more or support the ministry: https://hff.church 🕍 Join us for Saturday Church in Oklahoma City — every Saturday at 10:30 AM. #BanquetParable #Matthew22 #KingdomOfHeaven #WeddingFeast #JesusIsKing #BiblePodcast #MessianicFaith #HHPPodcast #HFFChurchOKC

Comfort Is the Enemy: Rediscovering Radical Faith in a Soft Culture

We don’t need more fans of Jesus—we need people on mission with Jesus. In today’s episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke (Senior Pastor at HFF Church in OKC) gets real about the tension many modern believers feel: how do we actually follow Jesus in a culture built on comfort, convenience, and self-promotion? We’re asking the hard questions: 🔹 What does true discipleship look like in today’s world? 🔹 Are we building brands… or building the Kingdom? 🔹 Has our faith become admiration from a distance rather than boots-on-the-ground obedience? From foxes and nests to American Christianity and TikTok theology, this episode unpacks the urgent need for believers to move beyond safe religion and step into radical obedience. 🎯 Topics include: The difference between fans and followers How comfort has become the counterfeit calling The cost of Kingdom living in modern culture Living on mission—right where you are What it means to apprentice Jesus in daily life It’s time to stop asking, “What’s my purpose?” and start asking, “What does obedience look like today?” 📍 Don’t forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe! 💻 Want to support the podcast or dive into more resources? Comfort vs. Calling: What It Really Means to Follow Jesus

“Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.” Simple words. Profound truth. In this episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Frankie (Senior Pastor of HFF Church in OKC) dives deep into one of Jesus’ most poetic and challenging statements from Matthew 8:20. What seems like a soft metaphor becomes a direct confrontation with our desire for comfort, control, and stability. 🔹 What does it really mean to follow Jesus? 🔹 Are we willing to walk a road that offers no earthly refuge? 🔹 Are we apprenticing Jesus—or something else? This isn't just about ancient foxes and birds—this is about the uncomfortable call to live a life on mission, just like our Messiah. Discipleship comes at a cost, and Jesus never hides the price. 🔥 Join us as we unpack themes of: Self-denial and mission The tension between comfort and calling The divinity and humanity of the Son of Man What it means to truly apprentice the Rabbi from Nazareth Whether you're in the church, the messianic world, or just wrestling with Scripture—you're invited to listen, reflect, and decide: Are you part of the crowd… or truly following? 📍 Like, share, comment, and subscribe to stay up to date. 💻 For resources, blogs, and how to support this podcast, visit https://hff.church 🕊️ Join us in person every Saturday at 10:30 AM in OKC! #HHPPodcast #Matthew8 #JesusWords #CostOfDiscipleship #FoxesHaveHoles #MessianicTeaching #KingdomInAction #FollowJesus #ApprenticingTheRabbi #SonOfMan #ChurchPodcast #TorahAndMessiah #BibleTeaching #HFFChurch

We’ve all heard it: “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it.” But what does that really mean? In this episode, Pastor Chris dives deep into John 14:13–14 to dismantle the myth of a "vending machine God" and explore what it truly means to pray in alignment with Jesus' character, mission, and Kingdom. ✅ Why prayer is not about personal gain ✅ How culture has warped our view of blessing ✅ What holiness actually means in a chaotic world ✅ Why your prayers must glorify God—not yourself 🙏 Jesus still answers prayers—but not on our terms. "I Can Do All Things?" — The Real Meaning of Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13 was my life verse growing up — shouted at swimming lessons, shared with kids I taught, and repeated like a spiritual rally cry: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” But what if we’ve been using this verse all wrong? Jeremiah 29:11 Misunderstood? What This Verse Really Means (Not What You Think)

Most people quote Jeremiah 29:11 as a feel-good promise of instant blessings, success, or smooth sailing — but that's not what God was saying. This verse was written to a broken, exiled nation, not individuals chasing quick prosperity. In This Podcast: ✅ What Jeremiah 29:11 doesn’t mean 🧭 The real historical and biblical context 🗝️ Why it's a promise of long-term restoration — not immediate results ❤️ What this verse truly teaches us today 📝 Key Takeaways: • It’s a corporate promise to Israel — not a personal guarantee • Fulfillment took 70 years — many never saw it in their lifetime • It came in the midst of discipline and suffering • God’s good plans often involve hardship that leads to hope • Even in exile, God remained faithful to His covenant 💬 Final Thought: Jeremiah 29:11 isn’t a prosperity slogan — it’s a profound reminder that God is faithful even in the waiting. His plans may unfold slowly, but they are always good and always redemptive. 👉 Don’t just quote the verse — understand the context. 🔔 Subscribe for more deep-dive Bible teaching! 📖 #Jeremiah29 #BibleStudy #ChristianTeaching #FaithInHardTimes #BiblicalContext #MisusedVerses #podcast #understandingthebible #biblecontext #bible #christianpodcast
