Jon’s got some time to himself.I’m at CO3.Isabelle is too.So is Maddie.The snow is melting.Jon is holding down the fort.

Wow, Jon has done 200 of these things!It’s the break week at the U.Jon had some time to himself when Isabelle and I went away for a bit.Jon has been watching hockey, curling and speed skating.We want the USA to lose in hockey.We did this one at my computer, rather than over zoom, as you can see in the pic.

Today is CNDOP.So of course we recorded.Also, I’m sort of burying the lede here.Jon did his presentation in class today and he did a fine job.He did all of the research himself etc.He even made a joke during his talk.Isabelle and I are very proud of you Jon!

Jon texted me to record, so, well, we did.It is Truth and Reconciliation Day.Jon went to the gym with his trainer.He did an exercise called a Superman, hence the pic.Jon has a test this week.I have tests to mark this week.

Jon and I realized we haven’t recorded in a while.So we did.The new school year is on.We had our trip to Quebec.Jon is taking animal behaviour.Plus there is a psychology social he will be coming to.

Scooby Doo.Jon has been watching lots of What’s New Scooby Do.The theme is great, and there are lots of cool guest stars.Jon has been working out a lot.Of course he has been buying his 4K movies as well.We did this over Zoom, but in the house, because we are weirdos

It’s the first day back since the break.So we had our class, intro to neuroscience, this morning.We also had a presentation on student voting.Jon asked questions in both bits. Good ones too. He recounted his experience voting without ID (you can do it).Oh yeah, Canada won the four nations.

Another one?Well, it is the break week after all.Oh and there was a plane crash!Happily, everyone is ok. But when Jon heard about the crash at YYZ he knew we had a podcast topic.So here is us, giving you plane crashe updates.Enjoy.

The other day Jon said he wanted to do a ‘remote podcast’. Of course what he meant was that he wanted to do a podcast over Zoom like I so often do with my other ones.So, today after class, Jon headed home and we did some recording!Today we talked about stress and health in class.Jon has been enjoying everything at the U so far.The weather is getting cooler.I’m not using one of my nice mics, so I don’t sound great…

So my brother Dan and I were to do a podcast today, something came up, but I hadn’t removed it from our calendar.Jon came up to me and said ‘we should be doing. apodcast’ and I figured he meant the Jonathan Files. Turns out he meant ‘We Have the Technology’. You know what? We haven’t done one of these in ages, so let’s!Jon is collecting movies.Jon enjoyed his term at the university.Jon is looking forward to the fall as well.

At this rate we’ll do at least two of these a year!So we were in Sudbury over the weekend and we went to see the Super Mario Bros. Movie.It was pretty good. I liked it, I’d give it 3 mushrooms out of five, Jon would of course give it perfect.Oh right, this is full of spoilers.We both l liked the music in the movie.Isabelle showed a short film too!

Hey look! It’s a new Jonathan Files!Well, maybe it’s a one off for the Canadian National Day of Podcasting, but he seemed pretty positive during the recording.Oh yeah, Dec 1 is Canadian National Day of Podcasting, so it makes sense that we do a Jonathan Files.Jon talked about Transplant, and Children Ruin Everything, they are his favourite shows currently, though he likes Wynnona Earp Still as well.Jon chose a song for this one that is one of the songs that has become very popular in Ukraine and is played a lot by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.Jon and I stand for Democracy, we stand with Ukraine.

Jon has opinions on season 4 of Wynonna Earp.They are good opinions.He liked everything about it (when he likes something he really likes it).He’s also liked Star Trek: Below Decks. I’m not so sure about it, but I’m warming up to it.He wants to see season 2 of The Boys. He didn’t watch season 1……School is starting back up soon too!

It’s episode 183, which, I called 169 for some reason.Jon’s back talking about his favourite show.It had a love scene that Jon really liked.He rates the episode 5 out of 5.Did I mention he liked the love scene?It seems to be aimed right at the male 15-24 demo to me.Jon liked the love scene, did I mention that?It’s great to be back ding these with Jon.

So, reason 4 of Wynonna Earp was on last night, and Jon was all over it.He really loved the episode, which should surprise nobody.I didn’t ask him for a star rating, but, he did say it got 91 on IMDB.We also talked a bit about hockey, it’s coming back!Oh right, this is a Jonathan Files review, so, suffice it to say, it’s full of spiders.Enjoy

Well we were out for a drive, and decided to record.Jon’s been doing a lot of stuff during the pandemic, keeping up with friends over google meetings, playing games, watching his favourite shows, and, working on what he calls his projects.These projects are basically Jon reimagining what various buildings in the city should look like. It’s kind of neat. He has the style of school architecture down pretty well.Happy Canada Day to everyone.

Hey it’s #CNDOP!So, because of that, Jon and I recorded on November 30, which some purists will probably see as cheating or something.Jon hasn’t done one of these in a while, not since his review of the finale of Killjoys. Well he’s back.We get an update on what he’s been up to.We also get some interesting Canadian TV ideas.Happy Canadian National Day of Podcasting from Jon and me!

Jon never used to watch TV shows. Of course he watched movies, but never TV.As regular listeners to the podcast know, Jon is a big Wynona Earp fan. He also got into Killjoys. Well it had its finale last week and Jonno loved it.We’ve missed a whole season (summer) without an episode, so we’ll try to put these out more often.We talked a bit about our summer too, camping in Michigan, trips to London, spilling Sprite on a MacBook air, stuff like that….

Taking a break from the restaurant reviews, Jon’s back at the movie reviews.Yesterday Jon saw ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’. When he came home he told me he gave it 10 out of 10, so as usual, he liked it.Jon’s Oscar pool is done, and Michelle Sullivan won! Congratulations Michelle.The March break is this coming week, so, I’ll check with Jon to see whats sort of stuff he has planned. Right now I can hear him listening to the Greyhounds’ game on the radio.

Out to dinner again!So Jon of course has his review of North 82. He liked it a lot, giving it 10 chicken fingers out of 10.Jon’s been pretty busy with various stuff including a dentist visit, and working on his movie and TV show ideas, so he hasn’t yet determined who won his Oscar pool, but that’s coming.Oh Jon has heard rumours that Wynonna Earp is being canceled. Let’s hope that isn’t true.

We went for dinner. A podcast ensued.Jon had wings as well as deep fried picklesI had a burger.Isabelle had deep fried pickles as well as mac and cheese.Jon was impressed with Montana’s and would give it 10 wings out of 10. He claims it is his favourite restaurant. That said, he claims all of them are his favourite.Jon has started an Oscars pool. You should enter it!

Happy New Year everyone!Jon’s back of course with a movie review.He just saw ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ with his friend Daniel.I’m typing this before he goes, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he liked it.We talked a bit about other stuff too, like what we’ve done over the holidays, that kind of thing.I hope you all like the episode.

Jon is quite a fan of Wynonna Earp which airs on Space.Last night the two part season finale was aired.So we decided to do a Jonathan Files review of the show.It should also be noted, as it has before on Broken Area, that Jon got an autographed Wynonna Earp graphic novel (or comic book, whatever) from Greg David.I think this is Jon’s first TV series review.

Jon went to see another movie.It is a movie I didn't even know existed. He may be beginning to scrape the bottom of the barrel. Then again, maybe it's good.Anyway, the movie is 'Little Italy' which I've not heard of, a romcom sorta deal.Let's find out what the boy thinks.Oh it turns out to be a Canadian movie, who knew?

Boy, Jon has been busy.Thats two reviews this week.This instalment is his review of Alpha. I had not heard of this movie, and after having read the synopsis on wikipedia, I kinda want to see it.I am interested in Jonno's thoughts though.Jon really liked this one. He says it would be a good family movie, though, there is some violence.Enjoy.

We're back from our camping trip, and now Jon is back to the movies.Today it's 'Crazy Rich Asians'. It is getting great reviews, so I imagine Jon will like it.(You can probably tell from the tense in that sentence that I'm writing this before he goes)Ooh he really liked it, says this one should get Oscar consideration.We also talked a bit about our recent coming trip..

It's a busy week for Jon, a busy week of movie going and podcasting.Today he saw Hotel Transylvania 3.It seems to have quite a cast, including Adam Sandler, and other SNL alums.Jon really liked it, and gave it 10 out of 10, as is his custom. His friend Daniel gave it 7.Jon burps in this episode, right in your ears, plus, he rubs his razor tumble on the mic. Ahh the joys of living with Jon.Jon says the movie would be good as family entertainment, and that it is not boring like, say, the Emoji Movie....

So, Jonno just got back from a movie. Christopher Robin. Here are his thoughts, in convenient podcast form.I've neglected to ask him for his ratings lately, so I won't forget this time.So, it turns out that Jon liked it a lot. Both he and his friend Daniel give it 10/10.Of course Jon talked about the various previews he say, and told us more about his movie ideas.

We just got back from a nice vacation. We went to Boucherville, QC and London , On.We visited family, including Julie, Bernard, Maxime, Mémé, Grandma, Dan, TD, Ross, and of course ,Jon's sister, Maddie (who you may know from the wildly successful Third Degree podcast, available on this site).Jon was pleased of course that we stopped for fast food. I imagine he rated all of the places highly.We took our bikes with us, so we went on some bike rides as well.We also shopped at a store with the reddest or orangest floor ever.

While I was away at MMPR (The Marshall McLuhan Podcaster Roundtables) Jon went to the movies. Another trip with his friend Daniel. This time he saw another super hero movie, Ant Man and the Wasp.I'm typing this before we record, but, my guess is that he really liked it.I bet we also talk about the movie trailers.I wonder what Jon will give it out of 5?

So, Jon saw another film with his buddy Daniel.Turns out that there's a pretty cool soundtrack as well.Jon really liked it, giving it his standard rating.Jon's class is having another BBQ at his teacher's house. Jon's teacher is a saint of some sort I imagine.We both hope you like this instalment.

I didn't get a rating from Jon on the podcast, but he gives it 9 out of 10.Anyway, yeah Jon saw Infinity War and liked it as you can see.Oh look there are spoilers, deal with it.He's also been working on his ideas over at his blog.His teacher had a party for the whole class last week, a BBQ for all the kids, pretty nice of her.

So, Jon went to see Deadpool 2. Here's his review. Remember, Jonathan Files reviews are full of spoilers.Jon also told me about the previews he saw, and there were five of them. He thinks the new Mission Impossible movie looks good.Oh he liked Deadpool 2.He's been putting his movie ideas on his new blog.Plus, I bought Jon a new bike, and he likes it a lot, though he has fallen once. Damned city still hasn't cleaned up all of the sand they put out in the winter.

This March Break has been great for Jon's podcasting career.Today he went to see Peter Rabbit. &nbsp;I had no idea it was some sort of irreverent comedy. Having watched the trailer I think it actually might be funny. &nbsp;I'll wait for Netflix though...Jon seems to have liked it which is a good thing.The movie had a song in it that Jon has been playing for at least a year. &nbsp;Turns out when you listen to the whole song, and not just one bit of it, it is not that bad a song.Jon has changed over to a rating scale out of 10 with surprising results.We got vaguely serious for a second, Jon prefers 'person with autism' to 'autistic'. &nbsp;Cool.

It is March Break week.Jon went with his friend Daniel to see Black Panther. &nbsp;Of course, as usual, Jon loved the movie. &nbsp;I've heard so many great things about the movie, both for it's oh, cultural impact let's say, and because it is supposed to be so good. &nbsp;I honestly am not really into super heroes, but Jon is. &nbsp;He gave it what he gives movies.Jon also came to one of my classes today and acted goofy, which was fine.

So we're in Sudbury as Isabelle and some students and faculty from the French department at the university are here for a play. &nbsp;Jon and I came along.We're at the Radisson and it is attached to a (somewhat lame) mall.Well it does have a theatre, so while Isabelle is at the Francoplay, Jon and I went to see Game Night.It was a lot of fun. &nbsp;It was funny, had some pretty good action and, well, you know what Jonno gave it out of five...

So, it is the holiday season and Jon has taken advantage of that today by going to a movie. &nbsp;The movie? &nbsp;Well you probably know from the title here, is the remake or reboot of Jumanji. &nbsp;Jon says he saw the original, and I don't doubt it. &nbsp;Jon really liked it, heck, action / comedy, he's in the target demo.Of course you know what he gave it.Jon also talked a bit about Christmas, and stuff he got and what he's been up to.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Jon and Me.

I think we've used that title before.So Madeleine is here, Isabelle is back from work, and hey how about a short familycast?We talked about Jon's recent adventures, his work at the bushplane museum, and a few other things.Everyone except me was yawning.

So, about a month ago we went to Casey's for dinner. &nbsp;We had planned to do a Jonathan Files review, but, we kept getting sidetracked by so many other things.Today though Jon came to visit me at work and then we took the bus to Mac's and walked home.What a perfect time to record.Well perfect except that it is unseasonably cold and snowy.Oh you probably guessed what he gives Casey's out of Five.

Wow, we haven't put any out in so long and now two in the span of a week. Both Jon and I saw the previews for Dunkirk last year and we looked at each other and said 'let's see that when it comes out'.  So, we did. It was, frankly, a great movie.  We both liked it a lot.  I didn't record our scores but we would both give this one five out of five.  Jon's also been working at the digital creator space in the public library, making animation, which is cool.

We went for a walk in the Hiawatha Highlands (a park/conservation area in town) and Jon and I realized he hasn't put one of these out in a Pope's age, so, we did. Jon's been learning to ride a bike.  We already ride the tandem, but this time, he's doing it on Isabelle's bike.  He'll be getting his own soon. We also talked a bit about what been up this summer, things like Jon doing Chinese calligraphy, and how Yooper's voice sounds somehow like Patton Oswalt's. It's nice to be back doing this with Jon, hopefully we'll have more soon.

I needed a haircut and didn't feel like going out by myself so I asked the boy if he wanted to come.  We took the bus and then recorded this on the way back.  Jon's been having fun at school, especially in his drama class where he's doing the sound effects for a radio play. Much of this was recorded on the bus, and Jon insists on sitting at the back near the engine.  I hope you all can hear us.....

Jon and I haven't seen a movie in quite a while, and, frankly, there's a new Star Wars movie out, so, off we went! It was either Rogue One or Assassin's Creed, which Jon informs me is supposed to be terrible. This is a Jonathan Files review, it will be full of spoilers, so just please keep that in mind. Here's a spoiler, there are space ships and what have you. Enjoy, and Happy New Year from Jon and me.

So, we just got back from Toronto. This was Jonathan's first plane trip that he remembers (there were a couple when he was a baby) so it was eventful. We went to a bunch of different restaurants, and of course to the Art Gallery of Ontario, Jon reviewed them all, out of 5. We recorded this just before takeoff on our way home. Enjoy.

So Jon really wanted to go watch his school's basketball team play tonight, so we went for a bit. They started late, so we only watched the first quarter. We left because it was about a thousand degrees. Nonetheless, it was good fun. When we left Jon's school's team was up 18-6. We then talked about Jon's day and about a movie idea he had. Hope you guys like it.

We went out for dinner tonight, and on the way home Jon wanted to record First off, today Jon used Garageband to create a new theme for his podcast, what do you think? Then Jon talked about his idea for a movie about Confucius. He's been interested in this for quite a while. We had fun recording as we always do, and this time Isabelle is also on the podcast.
