What do you need to have a good Christmas? ... We NEED Jesus!   Let's break down Mary's Magnificat from Luke 1:26-38. The main point of Pastor Paul's sermon on 12/21 was to model Mary’s Magnificat for a great Christmas. He summarized it with four words: remember, rejoice, refocus, and respond. Which one of these words resonates with you the most for a great Christmas, and why?   We're thankful for Mary, whom God chose to bear the Christchild. May we glorify God this Christmas just like she did!

Pastor Alice starts the podcast off with POP QUIZ! We dig into Mark 9:30-37 and discuss who is the GOAT and who is the LOAT.

We are truly blessed! Not just because of circumstances, but because Jesus loves us and calls us to follow him every day. The pastors discuss The Beatitudes from Matthew 5: 1-12 and how we as Christians can live a blessed life. The Beatitudes describe the character and conduct of those who belong to God's kingdom. These sayings redefine what it means to be blessed by the world's standards!

What do you do when you are unworthy and desperate? Turn to Jesus. Jesus generously invites us to take hold of him and never let go. The pastors dig into Mark 5: 21-34 and encourage you to trust in Jesus in all circumstances.

The countercultural claim Jesus is making in Luke 16: 19-31 is that the riches of this life can blind us to the riches of God. The pastors dig into the story of the rich man and Lazarus.

Pastors Alice and John dig into the seven woes from Matthew 23. We invite you to go to God asking Him to show you which areas in your life to be cautious to not be a hypocritical Christian.

The pastors discuss the story of Lazarus (John 11:1-44) and how Jesus is deeply emotional. Jesus used his feelings wisely and demonstrated how to surrender our emotions in service to God and others. 

Our Savior is relatable! We shift from talking about Jesus being fully God to Jesus being fully HUMAN. We begin this section digging into John 2 with Jesus's first miracle - the wedding at Cana.

The transfiguration was not just a statement; it was an experience of Jesus’ divinity! The transfiguration (and surrounding stories) are meant to change our understanding of discipleship: Disciples live in the valley, yet remember the mountaintop. Disciples remember the eternal while living in the present. Disciples die to self while rising with Christ.

The pastors dig into Mark 4:35-41 where the identity of Jesus as God is further revealed in a powerful way as He calms a raging storm. We can see Jesus’ divine power in this story. We know that we can trust Jesus in the storms of life because He is more powerful than any storm.

Because Jesus was tempted in every way, he gets us. The pastors dive into Luke 4:1-13 and Hebrews 4:14-16 as they discuss temptation, sin, and our world.

The first section of this series focuses on Jesus being fully God. We use the word “divine” to describe a lot of things. Why is it important that Jesus is divine, or in other words, fully God?
