    Hind oversees financial information and valuation activities at Astorg across funds, and acts as the representative of Astorg Asset Management in the board of the companies.   Next to that, she is responsible for the financial communication to LPs for reporting and fundraising activities. Hind started her career in the Deals & Valuations team at PwC Amsterdam where she advised corporations on mergers and acquisitions, business restructurings and strategy. During her time in Luxembourg, she was responsible for advising on valuations to funds investing in Private Equity, Private Debt, Venture Capital and Infrastructure.   Next to that, Hind is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and holds an Executive MBA from Groningen University, The Netherlands and an MSc. in Financial Management from Nyenrode University, The Netherlands.     Akikul joined Alpha in 2020 and is Head of Strategy and Fundraising based in Luxembourg and the UK.   Akikul started his career at the Royal Bank of Scotland on the EMEA Loan Origination, Syndicate and Sales desk. Prior to joining Alpha, Akikul headed up the EMEA Project Management function at Eaton Partners, including co-heading origination as well as being involved in distribution.     The interview with Jérôme Wittamer on 24th of February 2021 (Moderator: Stephane Pesch; CEO at LPEA)    Jérôme Wittamer is Founder and Managing Partner of Expon Capital, a Venture Capital firm based in Luxembourg.    Jérôme has been active both as an investor and as an entrepreneur in technology for over 25 years. His latest investments include ground-breaking storage acceleration chip Pliops, revolutionary big data company Spire Global (space constellation that will save lives, crops and billions in GDP), Dott, a micro-mobility operator, and Catalyte, a software development company using predictive analytics to advance human potential in poor neighbourhoods. Jérôme honed his skills in the early 90s backing the pioneer of flash memory M-Systems (sold to SanDisk) and cybersecurity company Aladdin Knowledge Systems (listed). In the early 2000’s, he led successful investments in media and communication technology companies such as EVS (IPO), Option (IPO) and Evertz (IPO), all of which became a world leader in their field. During that period, he contributed to the foundation of VOXmobile, a mobile operator (sold to Orange). Active in multiple non-profit organisations supporting education and entrepreneurship (Junior Achievement Luxembourg), Luxembourg’s internet connectivity (www.LUCIX.lu) and Luxembourg’s Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (www.LPEA.lu), of which he is a former Chairman.    Jérôme graduated Cum Laude from the University of Louvain, where he obtained a Master of Law. He received his MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

    The Luxembourg PE/VC Stories with Peter Veldman

    Peter has studied Business Economics at the UVA in Amsterdam. After his graduation, Peter started his career at the Dutch Central Bank and continued at ABN AMRO where he was a senior trader followed by Cyrte Investments and Ownership Capital where he was the COO. Peter joined EQT in 2014 as Managing Director in the Amsterdam GP office, where he was responsible for the Dutch-based Funds. In 2017 Peter relocated together with his wife and 2 teenage boys to Luxembourg where he became the Head of Fund Management, taking full responsibility of the EQT Fund Management platform. In 2019 he took on the role of Deputy Group Head of Fund Operations that next to Luxembourg, has (legacy) locations in Guernsey, London, Stockholm, and Amsterdam. Currently, around 85 of EQT’s FTE’s are part of the Fund Operations organization.
