E358 - Kentucky Wildcask Bourbon (Release # 2)
Kentucky Wildcask bourbon is back! Around this time last year, we tasted and reviewed the inaugural release of this product. We were impressed and excited to see what was on the horizon for the next release. As a reminder, Wildcask Bourbon is created by a group of students at the University of Kentucky who are learning about all aspects of the commercialization of bourbon. This class at UK is part of the Distillation, Wine, and Brewing Certificate offered by the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. So how does the sophomore release of product taste? More importantly, how does it taste compared to last years offering? You'll have to listen to find out. This bourbon is definitely one of a kind in terms of how it is produced and we are excited to see what the future holds. --------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E357 - Old Charter Finest Oak & Single Oak Project
Recently, some of our "friends we haven't met yet" came into Lexington and some madness ensued. In the aftermath, we discovered two bottles (amongst the ruble) to review. For this week's episode, we taste and review Old Charter Finest Oak Bourbon and barrel # 80 of Single Oak Project. We've talked about Single Oak Project before, but when it comes to Old Charter, we are in uncharted territory. What does Buffalo Trace do and how do these brand new gift shop releases taste? You'll have to listen to find out. As per the usual, the conversation dovetails far off the beaten path.

E356 - Triple Blind Tasting
It's been a minute since we hit some blinds. In this short, we knock the rust off and ready our palates for some good ole' blind tastings. We also discuss our forthcoming appearance on "poor guesses" which is a blind taste off with the Bourbon Junkies. We also talk about recent barrel picks and all kinds of other fun stuff. So please join us this week and we attempt to guess age, proof, and distillate of three blinds samples. Two of the blinds are from large heritage distillers and other is single barrel from another podcast. Want more info than that - just give us a listen.--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E355 - Eljah Craig 15 Year Bourbon
Elijah Craig 15 Year Bourbon is a brand new offering from Heaven Hill. Some say this whiskey was created to bridge the gap between the flagship Small Batch that we know and love versus some of the ultra-aged stuff like the 18-Year-Old expression. Regardless, this bourbon carries and age statement (15 year) and a proof (108) that seems to be in the wheelhouse of the whiskey enthusiast. But, how does this new offering taste? You'll have to listen to get our take. Jason joins us for this episodes and we get into all kinds of trouble including breaking news and blinds. Should you be chasing this new single barrel offering from Heaven Hill? We think so, but there are definitely some things you need to consider.

E354 - Maker's Mark Wood Finishing: The Stewards Release
The Wood Finishing Series from Maker's Mark rolls on and we are here for it. For this week's short, we taste and review the most current release in this series. Released in March 2026, the Maker's Stewards release is a limited-edition, cask-strength bourbon (approx. 109.6–113.3 proof) honoring the distillery’s operations team at Star Hill Farm. As the third installment in a five-year series, it uses 10 virgin toasted oak staves. How does it taste? Well...--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E353 - Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Rye (A126) & Old Overholt 12 Year Rye
We often have quite a bit to say about Heaven Hill and Jim Beam. When we were planning for this episode, it was only supposed to be about Elijah Craig. But then, we found a bottle of Old Overholt 12 Year Rye and said, "Why not try them together?" Elijah Craig Rye is a relatively new venture for Heaven Hill and Old Overholt is a brand that Beam acquired in the 1980s. If you want brand history - this isn't the episode for you. This week, we have a goog ole' taste off between two ryes that are relatively similar in age and proof. What the results? You'll have to listen to find out. One thing is for certain...rye whiskey is delicious and more people need to try it.

E352 - Kentucky Senator Release #7 (Bunning)
Kentucky Senator Bourbon is a brand that honors some of Kentucky's most well known and iconic politicians. The seventh release in vertical series hit retail shelves recently and the limited offering honors the late Jim Bunning (1931–2017). Bunning holds the unique distinction of being the only person elected to both the Baseball Hall of Fame and the U.S. Senate and he was the senator who introduced the 2007 resolution that officially designated September as National Bourbon Heritage Month. So join us for this weeks short as we taste and review the latest offering from Kentucky Senator. Also, we recommend going back and listening to E178 when we had the privilege of speaking with the co-founders of Kentucky Senator Bourbon. E351 - Knob Creek Blender's Edition Batch 1
Knob Creek is a classic brand from the Jim Beam distillery. Beam sent shockwaves through the industry this year when they said they would be suspending operations at their main distillery for one year. Despite this news, they continue to bring many new and classic offerings to the market. Today, we taste and review the first edition of Knob Creek Blender’s Edition. Dubbed as the sweet bourbon blend, this offering comes in at 106 proof and 10 years old. But how does it taste? You’ll have to listen to find out. E350 - River Roots American Malt Whiskey (Sprayberry Single Barrel)
If you've followed our podcast, you know how much we love River Roots in Cleveland, Ohio. For this short, we taste and review a recent River Roots single barrel selection that was done by the Sprayberry Bottle Shop in Marietta, Georgia. The whiskey they selected is an American Single Malt that was distilled in California. With a unique mashbill of 88% malted barley and 12% malted rye, this whiskey is 7 year 10 months old and comes in at a massive 145.16 proof. If you've listened closely, you know that we typically love malt whiskeys. However, will this one be an exception to that rule? You'll have to listen to find out. One thing is for sure, this might be the most unique whiskey that we've tasted this year and quite possibly in the history of the podcast.

E349 - Stagg Bourbon (Batch 25D)
Stagg (Jr.) bourbon debuted in 2013. Since then, there have been 31 different batches released, including the one that we taste and review in this weeks episode. While the "junior" was dropped from the name a couple years ago, some other things have changed as well. Once a steady semi-annual release, the past two years have included 4 batches (one per quarter). While the availability has increased, some have said that the quality has declined. When batch 25D was released, many were singing it's praises, but not uniformly. In this episode, Kenny blinds batch 25D against some other Stagg products and Anthony just makes a bunch of brilliant comments! Lol. But two for reals, tune in this week to get our honest take on Stagg 25D. Is it the best in years or should we continue to wait for these batches to return to their former brilliance? --------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E348 - Old Forester 117 Series: Bottled-In-Bond Rye and Still Proof
Old Forester has released many different whiskeys under the 117 series label. Admittedly, we are playing catch up on these. For this short, we taste and review two bottles from the 117 series (both released in 2025): Bottled-In-Bond Rye and Still Proof. The BIB rye is an age stated and bonded version of the Old Forester Rye which we have reviewed favorably in the past. The other bottle we review is the Prohibition Era Still Proof which is a four year old high proof whiskey (130 proof). How will this short of these exclusive 375ml bottles turn out? With many many laughs and some good whiskey commentary as well. Enjoy the short.

E347 - Maker's Mark Cask Strength "Age-Stated"
Maker's Mark Cask Strength Bourbon debuted all the back in 2014. More than ten years after the fact, this offering got an upgrade of sorts from the iconic brand. At the beginning of 2026, Maker's Cask started appearing on the shelves with an age statement. This is a permanent change for the brand and every batch of Maker's Cask Strength Bourbon will carry an age statement that will be between 7-8 years old and proof will vary from 107-114. The bottle we taste and review for this episode is 7 years, 2 months old and comes in at 112.6proof. Even though we love a good age statement, we are always more concerned with how the whiskey tastes. Join us this week as we give our honest thoughts on this updated offering. We also compare it to it's non-age stated counterpart for the ultimate test. The results will surprise you.

E346 - Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye Picks
You've heard us discuss our love of Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye. Furthermore, you've heard us talk about how fortunate we are to have had the opportunity to visit the distillery and participate in multiple picks. On our most recent trip to the distillery, we picked two excellent ryes. These picks were recently bottled and delivered to the store (Bluegrass Liquor Box in Georgetown, KY). In this episode, we taste and review our picks and there are some surprises as well. Call us biased if you want, but these picks are absolutely delicious and we can't wait for our community to get their hands on them.--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E345 - A Midwinter Night's Dram
A Midwinter Night's Dram is a whiskey that has been historically sought after. Once a combination of well aged rye from from Barton and MGP, this whiskey is now a combination of High West's own distillate and MGP. How does it taste? You'll have to listen to find out. In this episode, we wax poetically about MWND in the past and we have high hopes for the future. During the tasting, we got a bit sidetracked by the return of our co-host Steven and by large shipping lables. After all is said and done, we give you our honest and candid assessment of this bottle from last year.--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E344 - W.L. Weller Antique (OWA) Store Pick
We've been fortunate to pick at Buffalo Trace multiple times. In this short, we taste and review an OWA pick that we helped select about six months ago. Big thanks to Nick and Ryan for letting us take part and including us on the pick. We still think OWA is one of the best whiskeys for the price. But, what about single barrel selections? Are they worth the premium that they command? E343 - New Releases From EverNorth Spirits
We've talked about EverNorth Spirits in previous episodes of the podcast. EverNorth was founded by The Bourbon Junkies and they have been putting out some excellent whiskey over the past few years. In this episode, we dive into tasting and reviewing some of the newest releases from EverNorth. The 6th batch of Spirit Walker is known as "Kentucky Cobbler" and it is a dessert-ish whiskey that is finished in an array of different barrels. In addition to the Cobbler, we taste and review Crimson Hollow which is a blend of well-aged bourbon and light whiskey finished in Kelvin barrels. So, where to begin? Give us a listen and let us know what you think about these two new bottles from EverNorth spirits. In addition, you also get to hear some great conversation and may even some singing. E342 - A Conversation w/ Jarrod Record (Barrel King) & Alec Balas (Whiskeyland TV)
In this episode, we sip and chat with Jarrod Record who is the co-founder of Barrel King and Alec Balas who is the co-founder of Whiskeyland TV. You've heard us mention a bit about Jarrod in past episodes when we've reviewed Barrel King products. However, having him in the basement to answer questions gave us a whole new perspective and appreciation for his bourbon journey and brand. Alec is essentially a bourbon filmmaker and he brings unique perspectives about the spirit through his ability to visualize and tell stories about everyone connected to the industry. Individually, both Jarrod and Alec have fascinating stories, but their upcoming collaboration is something you'll definitely want to check out. Together, they are launching a YouTube based whiskey series known as "Mixx Tank" which promises to bring whiskey collaborations and exceptional content with the hopes of enhancing the bourbon community. This new collaboration is a small part of a larger conversation filled with laughs and perspectives you could only get from people that are ingrained in the industry. Flanked once again by guest co-host Ryan Alves, we feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to sit down with Jarrod and Alec for this enlightening and fun conversation.

E341 - Larceny & Elijah Craig Store Picks
Over the past few years, you've heard us say many positive and negative things about Elijah Craig's barrel program. For this episode, we taste and review two different Elijah Craig barrel picks and one Larceny Barrel Proof pick that were selected by one member and many friends of the podcast for Bros Liquor in Davis, California. Will we pass, try, or buy? You might think you know the outcome, but it may surprise you. As per the usual, there will be blinds and all kinds of other fun stuff (like a recap of the Brewzle event at Dark Arts). For the second time in the history of the podcast, we welcome back our friends from River Roots Barrel Company. The last time we had them on the podcast, River Roots had been in existence for just over a year. Since that time, the brand has continued to flourish and they are getting ready to move into a brand new (and larger) building in downtown Cleveland. In this episode, you get hear about all the exciting things that are in the works for River Roots and the best part is that you'll get to hear it directly from Ryan Lintz (Co-Founder) and Christine Schmittgen (Single Barrel Program Manager). River Roots has become a destination for whiskey enthusiasts across the nation and even in South Korea. In addition to tasting and reviewing these two bottles, we also incorporated some surprise blinds from the basement and from our community. E338 - Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project
Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Single Oak Project (SOP) is the ultimate in bourbon exploration. Consisting of different mashbills, wood, and a host of other unique variables, this grand experiment boasts 192 unique bourbons with 1,396 different flavor combinations. With this experimentation, Buffalo trace aims to have it's consumers isolate and compare every variable that shapes what ends up in the bottle. Our good friend Jason brought bottle of SOP for us to taste and review. Mistakenly, we thought this was a rye when it was really bourbon with rye as the predominant flavoring grain. At any rate, we had a a lot of fun with it and would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that facts are indeed optional when it comes to bourbon. E337 - King of Kentucky Small Batch Bourbon
When Brown-Forman announced they would be releasing a new small batch version of King of Kentucky, we were excited and also had many questions. Instead of more single barrels, this remixed version of the "King" comes in the form of three batches with a brand new mashbill. For the first time, King of Kentucky has released a three-batch series, each bottled at a distinct proof to showcase the complexity of its aging process: Batch 1: 105 proof; Batch 2: 107.5 proof; Batch 3: 110 proof. For this episode, our friend Jason was able to secure Batch 2 and we supplied some blinds to make sure that the very first time we tasted this whiskey would be blind. How did things end up? Is this new version of the king really the "King?" You'll have to listen to find out.

In 2025, Willett quietly released a blended bourbon called "Speakeasy." We've had the chance to talk to Bruce before, but it's never been like this. In this episode, we have a long form conversation and taste through some of the most revered Wild Turkey offerings in history as well as some new things that Bruce is working on. We are joined by guest co-host Ryan Alves from Bourbonoutfitter.com who also happens to be one of Bruce's closest friends. This episode really needs no description. E333 - A "Blind" Trip Down Memory Lane
For this Friday episode, we decided to dig into our backlog of blinds that have been sent by our community. Our listener and friend (Ryan from NC) sent us some blinds that drummed up some serious nostalgia. He also sent us some holiday gifts and those gifts cause quite a bit of clamor and laughter. We've been doing this podcast for nearly 5 years and this set of blinds was surprising and meaningful. Why is that the case? You'll have to listen to find out. E332 - Smooth Amber Cask Strength 9yr Bourbon & King Cake
Coming off our "best of" episode, we decided to celebrate Fat Tuesday a little early. Twice previously on the podcast, we tasted Smooth Ambler Founders' Cask Strength Bourbon (at 6 years and 8 years old). We'd like to thank a great listener (Patrick) for sending us the 9yr version of this of this bourbon. For this weeks short, we taste this new bottle against the 8yr version and the results are kind of shocking. We also taste a blind sample and stuff our faces with some King Cake courtesy of Caleb C. E331 - Best of Blinds 2025
Finally - The Mash Up Podcast has crowned it's best whiskey of 2025! Annually, we have a "Best of Blinds" event which consists of an esteemed panel of friends tasting through some of the best whiskeys of the year. We had 67 total bottles in the field. After multiple preliminary rounds, we came up with our top 12. These "top" whiskeys were then blinded again in a championship round. Who made the top 12? Who won the whole dang competition? You'll have to listen to find out. With special guest host Ryan Alves from bourbonoutfitter.com, this conversation is an important and spirited one. While this episode is a little long, we promise that it's worth it. We have two upcoming barrel picks from Dark Arts Whiskey House in Lexington, Kentucky. We selected a 12 year Armagnac finished bourbon and an 11 year straight bourbon whiskey (both MGP). You've heard us discuss about Dark Arts before, but you'll have to listen to hear about how these barrels were selected and how they taste. We welcome Steven back the podcast. E329 - Old Dominick Single Barrels
Old Dominick Distillery, located in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, is a historic, family-owned distillery producing whiskey and vodka, revitalized in 2017 by the descendants of Domenico Canale, who first created the brand in 1866. For this episode, we taste and review two single barrel offerings from Old Dominick (Tennessee Whiskey and Wheat Whiskey) that were provided to the podcast by listener/friend . While we had heard of Old Dominick, we'd never tried any of their offerings. What were we waiting for? Not sure. But, better late than never as this brand seems to have much potential. So join us this week as we talk about humble beginnings of an immigrant, three 6 mafia, and a whole host of other stuff.--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E328 - Rare Character Brook Hill Rye
For this episode, we taste and review a 13 year old Brook Hill Rye selected by Liquor Barn. It's always good when we can taste and review a bottle that was selected by one of the most well known liquor stores in Lexington. While this episode isn't a terribly long, we do manage to taste this high proof premium offering from Rare Character and we also blind it against something our listeners might be familiar with.

E327 - Woodford Reserve Barrel Proof Rye & Barrel Proof Double Oaked
How do we follow up a BTAC episode? Well, by reviewing Woodford Reserve Barrel Proof Rye and the new Barrel Proof Double Oaked Store Picks. While the whiskey reviews are good, the conversation is even better. In this episode, we go a bit "old school" and focus on much more than the title would reveal. In this wide ranging conversation, we talk about Fred Minnick's top 100, upcoming barrel picks, and many other topics. To help with this, we welcome back our friend Jason from Arsenic Culture. Lots of laughs, commentary, and opinions are the hallmarks of this episode. Feels like a good ole bourbon hand and there's nothing wrong with that.--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E324 - Drum Key Spirits "The Debut" Bourbon & Best of Blinds Update
Jason Callori of the Mash and Drum recently worked with the folks at Barrel King to create a custom blend which serves as the very first release of the Drum Key Spirits Brand. "The Debut" is comprised of 7-, 8-, and 9-year Green River Bourbon, personally chosen by Jason from the distillery’s most legendary and seldom-revealed rickhouse locations. This 123 proof bourbon definitely packs some flavor and we give you are thoughts on it. Also, in this episode, we provide an update on our Best of Blinds for 2025. E323 - Little Book Infinite Edition II & Booker's The Reserves (2025)
The Jim Beam Distillery recently made news when they announced they would cease distilling operations for one year at their main campus in Clermont, KY to make long overdue improvements to the distillery. While this headline certainly captivated folks near and far, Beam puts out a lot of product and someone needs to review it. That's where we come in. This week, we review two limited edition releases from Jim Beam: Little Book Infinite Edition II & Booker's The Reserves 2025 edition. These two premium offerings are relatively new from Beam and we liked what we tasted last year. How will the newest releases of these whiskeys compare to last year? You'll have to listen to find out. This holiday hangover edition of The Mash Up features one of Kenny's family members (again). E322 - A Conversation with Marianne Eaves of Forbidden Bourbon
Marianne Eaves has put together a very impressive resume in the bourbon industry in a short amount of time. For this exceptionally special episode, we had a chance to sit down and chat with her about Forbidden Bourbon. Although Forbidden is a relatively new brand, the foundation and roots of it began long ago and are influenced by Marianne's drive, passion, and experiences. Marianne shattered a massive glass ceiling when she became Kentucky's first female Master Distiller since prohibition, but she has not rested on her laurels and continues to push the boundaries of the industry. So join us this week for a fascinating and fun conversation with one of the highest profile guests to ever be on the podcast. Marianne is a bourbon nerd at heart and a true ambassador of the spirit. Her accomplishments speak for themselves, but her future plans are nothing short of amazing. We hope you enjoy this episode and you should definitely check out all the goodness coming from Forbidden Bourbon.

E321 - Heaven Hill 90th Anniversary Bourbon
Helllooooo and welcome to the New Year! To kick things off, we are reviewing a brand new bottle that commemorates the 90th anniversary of Heaven Hill. For the last nine decades, Heaven Hill has been a family owned, independent company and they are one of the biggest names in bourbon. To celebrate this milestone, the 90th Anniversary bourbon is a blend of 9 year bourbon (some aged in heavy char barrels) and comes in at 107 proof. Packaged in a nice box and rustic sheik bottle that mimics what we've seen in previous special releases, this bottle appears to have everything that enthusiasts are looking for. But how does it taste? You might be surprised at what we think about this one. Also, listen closely as this episode features a special mystery guest host.

E320 - Barrel King x Bourbon BarrALZ ENDALZ Bourbon
Bourbon BarrALZ raises money through charity barrels benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Recently, they teamed up with the folks at Barrel King to create a one of a kind blend for charity. The Barrel King X Bourbon BarrALZ collaboration is a blend of 12 year old high rye MGP and Green River Bourbon that was aged for almost 10 years. Coming in at 117.1 proof, this bourbon has some bold flavors that are sure to delight the senses. This blend also showcases some of the fantastic stuff that Barrel King can do. Bourbon BarrALZ provided the bottle to us to review and we are very thankful for that. However, it didn't impact our ability to give this an honest review. E319 - William Larue Weller & George T. Stagg (2025)
Each and every year, some of the most sought after whiskeys of the Fall season come from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. While we would have liked to review these bottles a little sooner, they didn't hit the shelves in Kentucky until December. Was it worth the wait? We think so. Join us this week as we taste and review the 2025 versions of George T. Stagg and William Larue Weller. WLW is always a highly touted and sought after whiskey and Stagg returns to it's traditions with a hazmat proof. In true Mash Up fashion, we don't just review these bottles, but we put them through their paces with some legendary blinds and pours. Even though we are just a "community" podcast, we will always give the best and most honest reviews.--------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E317 - Jack Daniel's Taynard Hill Barrel Proof Rye
As we move closer toward the end of the year, we are tasting and reviewing some heavy hitters. For today's episode, we took our talents to the neighboring state of Tennessee to try the acclaimed Jack Daniel's Taynard Hill Rye release. This single barrel, barrel proof rye release has gotten a bunch of attention this year - but is that attention deserved or simply a bunch of hype. We are here to give you the skinny. We are thankful for our listener David who provided us the bottle for this episode. E316 - Willett Family Estate Four Year Bourbon
Willett surprised everyone recently when they released their first ever budget friendly "purple top." The purple foil that adorns the Willett Family Estate Bourbon is nothing short of legendary, but it also typically carries a hefty price tag. So, when Willett recently released a 4 year old small batch bourbon (with a purple top) at 125 proof and an MSRP just shy of $70, it definitely turned some heads. But, how does it taste? We got to work for this short and blinded this new release against a shelfer that had a similar proof and age. How did it all turn out? E315 - Penelope Extravaganza
Penelope Bourbon burst on the scene a few years ago. They were so successful that they were purchased by MGP and continue to be a force of a brand, always innovating and creating sought after whiskeys. When we returned from New York this past summer, we wondered if we had tasted the best whiskey that the Empire State had to offer. E312 - Sazerac Full Proof Rye
It seems like just yesterday that we were tasting and reviewing the 100 proof version of Sazerac Rye which "was" the newest permanent edition to the Saz lineup. However, that all changed a couple weeks ago when Sazerac Full Proof Rye made its debut. This new and permanent offering from Buffalo Trace comes in at 125 proof and is said to be comprised of barrels that are aging in some of the best parts of the rickhouses. Join us for this short as we taste and review this new offering. In this episode, Anthony blinds the fellas with another pour that sparks some good discussion. 90, 100, and now 125 proof? What's missing? Michter's is known as the "world's most desired whiskey." So on this Black Friday edition of The Mash Up, we taste and review three different limited production whiskeys from the distillery: 10 year old bourbon & rye and barrel strength bourbon. Each year that these products release (because they don't always release annually), they are highly allocated and highly sought after.
