Early on in her ABC News tenure - New York correspondent Cheri Preston was standing atop her New Jersey apartment witnessing the tragic events unfold from across the bay and shared her thoughts and some of her key memories of that tragic day.

Today we give a special Sawkar Salute to Second Harvest Heartland’s over 800 volunteers packing meals in Saint Paul in commemoration of 9/11 and the families that will now have a meal courtesy of the great work of these volunteers keeping the tradition going of ‘Honoring Through Action’!

One of the many cities in chaos on September 11th was Washington D.C. - Tim Stout currently serves as the Senior Manager for Civilian Staff for the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office was on staff at the White House on 9/11 and shares the sequence of events that day and how that day forever changed his life and career path from that day forward!

Whether it was in Minnesota or New York, the nation was unsettled on September 11th, 2001 - Charlie Weaver was the Commissioner of Public Safety for Minnesota and the Director of Homeland Security working alongside Governor Jesse Ventura on that day and shares his perspective of that day from the safety of Minnesota being front of mind to the unity that came with this tragedy and how 9/11 changed him then and since that day!
