Today the Nerd Fathers dive back into the world of Daredevil the Netflix original series and ask the question; "How much time is too much time on side quests?" While fans of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout may have varying opinions on this, the Patrons of the Nerdilicious are determined to bring their vast intellects and sagely won wisdom to answer this question... at least in regards to a streaming show.

It is time to once again turn our attention to a galaxy far, far away to see what new conspiratorial drama is unfolding in the first outing of Andor Season 2. Needless to say it is a controversial sampling, but never fear your nerdiest of patriarchs are never ones to shy away from controversy. Really, it's getting them to avoid it that's the trick... at least one of them...

Your dear and deplorable Nerd Fathers are at it again as they continue to chew through the hearty feast that is the original Daredevil series from Netflix. Walk with them in days of yore when story and expression walked hand in hand. Such things did exist once and mayhap they may come again...

The Nerdiest of Fathers are back for another slice of that sweet black and red pie that is Netflix's Daredevil. Plumbing the depths of the intricate story, defining the frame that fits the story so well, and then giving things a little savor by exploring some criticisms of some of the show's choices the connoisseurs of nerd culture are here to guide you through this sumptuous feast, and as we think you'll appreciate they are in no hurry.

The patriarchs of the nerd bring you word of ancient days when shows were made which both honored the source material and were keen to tell a great story. Take the hand of your Nerd Father, don't worry as the world goes dark, and we travel to the age days of mid 2010s to explore Netflix's Daredevil.

Your Father's of Nerd have returned and with their return they bring the good word with them to be proclaimed throughout every city and every borough. And the word is Daredevil is great... just not this particular season of Daredevil.

Traveling back to the days of yore the Nerd Fathers take some time to reflect on the books of their childhood and those they've read to their kids. Come along for a passage through the great books of the past, and perhaps a visit to the Scholastic Book Fair!

With the release of the Monster Manual and the Dungeon Master's Guide for D&D 2024 there has been no small amount of kerfuffle in the realms of the nerd, but fear not for your Nerd Patriarchies descend from their lofty recliners to bestow upon you their wisdom and corny jokes. Enjoy!

Everyone loves a good bad guy, right? Well our Patriarchs of Nerdery certainly do.

Upon a fan request Chris and Aaron dive into the courtroom drama of Juror #2, and not to spoil anything but it is exceptional... unless you are looking for answers instead of questions.

Things are about to get wacky and weird, slapstick and dark, all wrapped up in one bloody, glowing, hairy, fishy package. Answering a fan request the Patriarchs of Nerddom have turned their fatherly gazes upon James Gunn's latest offering in the DCU which takes a wild cast of characters and tells a burning, sloppy fastball right down the line. Chris and Aaron will talk about the good, the bad, and the intriguing in this uneven but often engaging show.

That's right, Chris and Aaron launch into this fun, fast paced, and graphically violent film exploring the ways in which the writing, visuals, and character arcs all come together to work like a well tuned engine.   Next stop, Bullet Train!

As we prepared for the release of the War of the Rohirrim, Chris and Aaron decide to look at what we know of the movie, what your Nerd Patriarchs concerns are, and then they plunge into an exploration of canon and how it relates to Lord of the Rings and this film, and then to art more broadly. From exploring the origins to assessing what connects people to these stories and then addressing hard questions about the Christian assessment of horror both in its current form and the genre in general. From the distant aeons of mythic history to the wonders and madness of modern day musicals, the Nerd Fathers come with the gift of Epic the Musical. Combining the tale of a certain famous greek hero with Hamilton-esque modern musical stylings, this creation of Jorge "Jay" Miguel Rivera-Herran seeks to bring the ancient thrill of the Odyssey to a modern audience... but can his musical stylings bring Odysseus across the wine-dark sea? Well boys and girls, this one is going to get a bit weird, but fear not your Nerdiest of Patriarchs are here to carry you through the madness that is Scavenger's Reign, an innovative if bizarre animated series of horror and survival. Trapped on an alien world the survivors of an accident must try to make their way on an increasingly hostile planet, while the rest of us try to navigate the mind-bending experience of this alien world.

Defying expectations and surprising those who think less of it, the show the Penguin from HBO has caught the attention of the Nerd Fathers and so the pair sat down and watched the first few episodes. Needless to say it was not what was expected in perhaps the best way possible...

You asked and they listened. Chris and Aaron heard the cries of the people of the world, the huddled masses wailing their need for the Nerdy Wisdom of the most auspicious of Nerd Patriarchs to show them the way. And where does this way lead? To adventure, dear children, to adventure undreamed of. Come with the your nerdy pater familis and take the first steps, the Session 0 of Dungeons and Dragons.

Well, despite the thwarting efforts of digital failures and thanks to the eager work of ambitious postal delivery Chris and Aaron are here to give you their review of the Dungeons and Dragons 2024 Player's Handbook. Learn about the quibbles, the praise, the criticism, and the frothing rage (not really... okay, maybe just a little). We've got the good, the bad, and the gay.

Well, you can call them gluttons for punishment but Aaron and Chris, you Nerdicus Pater Familias, decided that they were going to bear the burden of letting you know what you were missing in the first outpouring of sludge that is Rings of Power season 2. We're still not sure if Aaron will ever be the same...

Alright, alright fine we live in a dark age where it is all a pair of podcasters can do nothing except wade through the muck and the mire to see what can be drudged up from one of the greatest betrayals of the fandom, the lore, and the works of a great author within living memory. Yet, even in the dark there is a chance to strike a light, to stoke that flame, and then beat back the darkness. Come let us do it together!

Chris and Aaron want you to know that it is okay to be sad. There's all manner of things in the 'Verse that can get folk down, not least of which is contemplatin' the fact that some things just come to an end. Yes, the nerdist patriarchs are plunging into the vaunted and short-lived television show whose place as a cult favorite is well worth the time for a little walk down memory lane. Whether you are an old hand or wet behind the ears when it comes to travelin' the 'Verse you'll find a good deal to warm your heart and shake your belly with laughter. Strap on your saddles, tighten your sword belt, and rub some dirt between those fingers because the Nerdus Pater Familialis are taking you back to the glory day's of Ridley Scott's historic epic, Gladiator! With the recent hubbub about the coming sequel, Chris and Aaron thought it only write to spend sometime remembering the original film of 2000 that made such an impact across the world. There will be battle, philosophizing, and you will most certainly be entertained. Come there will be blood and circuses for all!

Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away it would have been nice if someone, anyone could be bothered to write! The Acolyte (Disney+) is out and now after having seen all but the penultimate episode the pater familias of the Nerd-realm took upon the terrible burden to slog through the show in vain hopes that something resembling a compelling story, or at least a coherent one, was to be found amidst the barren wastes of our modern age. What did our sojourners find? Well, you'll just have to listen to really find out.

The dynamic duo of nerd patriarchy are taking a trip through time and space this week to explore the great films of the past, explore what made them great, all while asking this very simple question: what happened? As sequels, prequels, and every other -equel gets vomited out on screens large and small across the country the Nerd Fathers dare to ask the question what happened to the times when we actually made new things in media? And can we ever get those sweet times back again?

Up from the dark depths come the most nerdy of pater famili to talk, finally, about the fantastic Godzilla Minus One. Like the great kaiju himself, this film seemed to come from nowhere to thrill and delight with its quality writing and impactful story. Join Chris and Aaron as they behold this wonder together and talk about what its existence might mean for our world.

Chris and Aaron, after receiving the news concerning the projects in development in the cinematic realms of Middle Earth have decided to take a moment to explore the future of LotR and what they might like to see emerging from the reaches of Arda's places and histories. Come along for nerding of the highest order as criticism and creativity wind together like thirsty roots.

The diamond in the rough, the oasis in the desert, there are few things more refreshing and welcome than something great and good amidst a whole lot of rubbish. And so that's why Chris and Aaron have decided that, while the Acolyte stirs up the muck and mire that is modern Star Wars, they'd like to remind you of a ray of bright hope which shone not so long ago in the galaxy far, far away. Even persnickety, patriarchal pair have nothing but praise for the phenomenon that is Andor, a Star Wars story whose gripping and meticulous plot is worth every minute you can spare to watch it. Come in out of the wastes to see the exploration of a modern masterpiece. You won't regret it!

With the Disney sludge pipe opening up again to spew Star Wars flavored content all over us via the Acolyte, Chris and Aaron decide to get a little reflective and assess where Star Wars is now and where it could change course to recover some good will and bring the fans back. Are things too far gone or is there a chance for a new hope (see what we did there?) to spring up anew in a galaxy far, far away.

Prepare yourself for a plunge into the odd, wonderful, and macabre world of Over the Garden Wall. Your guides through this wild and weird wood are none other than the Paters Nerdimus par excellance, Chris and Aaron, who are going to see you through amazing sights, sounds, and maybe smells of this madcap special produce by Cartoon Network. As expectations and conventions twist and turn around you in ways both silly and sinister never fear for your stalwart chaperones will see you through to the other side, though you might never be the same...

So last time Chris and Aaron had more than a few things to say about the new Fallout tv series which were... less than complementary. However in the words of the great Theodor Roosevelt "Complaining about a problem without posing a solution is called whining" and the Nerdacious Patriarchs will not stand for that. So in this episode they are going to explore how to fix the 1st season of Amazon Prime's Fallout. Strap on your thinking cap and come loaded for bear, because we're going to save the Wasteland one plot point at a time.

WARNING: Discussion of material some parents may object to Chris and Aaron are finishing the off the Fallout Season 1 tv show and it is not so much bringing it home as bagging it up for the trash. But are they being fair in their critical analysis? Could our pair of Nerdacious Poppas have erred in their assessment of the series? The only way to find out is by tuning in and seeing what they have to say.

From across the irradiated wastes and through hordes of mutated beasties the Nerd Fathers come bearing news of the new Fallout tv series. The show has raged across the nerddom territories earning praise and condemnation, depending on who you ask, and so it was left for the patriarchs of all nerddom to wander out into the wasteland and see what they can see. The first of two episodes concerning the shows, Chris and Aaron will be exploring the good, the bad, and the ugly of this post-apocalyptic, nuevo western, satirical extravaganza, and trying to determine if there is a good reason for it setting the world on fire.
