Episode 35 | Marking Moments
In this powerful new episode of the OneFamily Podcast, Stephen Hogue dives deep into a topic that affects every one of us—marking moments. These are the life events, both painful and defining, that leave a lasting imprint on our hearts. Many of the families, children, and caregivers OneFamily serves have experienced trauma: foster families, adoptive families, relative and non-relative caregivers, and biological parents working toward restoration. Stephen draws from Scripture, real-life stories, and his own journey to reveal how God can heal the wounds left by these moments.Using the story of Mephibosheth—a young man marked by shame, loss, disappointment, and isolation—Stephen shows how God’s heart is always to restore, redeem, and rewrite our stories. What the world or the enemy uses to label us, God has the power to erase. Just as King David sought out Mephibosheth to show kindness, God seeks out those who have been dropped, forgotten, or wounded and invites them back to His table as sons and daughters.Stephen exposes the lies we often believe after trauma (“I’m not valuable,” “I’m too broken,” “I’ll never change”) and replaces them with the truth of God’s Word—truth that brings healing, identity, and freedom. Through compelling testimony, biblical insight, and gentle pastoral encouragement, this episode reminds listeners that your past does not define your future and your marking moments don’t get the final word—Jesus does.Whether you’ve walked through divorce, loss, neglect, addiction, abuse, disappointment, or failure, this message offers hope:You can be healed. You can be restored. You can walk in freedom.Tune in as Stephen prays for listeners, calls out lies with the truth of Scripture, and invites every hurting heart to come out of Lodabar and take their rightful place at the King’s table.Visit OneFamilyFL.com to learn more about the mission of OneFamily, discover ways to partner with the ministry, or give to support families in the foster care system. This episode will encourage you, challenge you, and remind you that in Christ, the old is gone—the new has come.Support the show
