    10 year epilogue

Can you imagine what it’s like to wield these principles? To consistently hear hour after hour every day how your patients are being absolved from their illnesses and suffering? I feel like I have the best job in the world. I called Jordan today – as I write this, he’s going to be twenty two this summer! Crazy, I know. He’s still loving his job as a trampoline acrobat, and he’s also in love with a gal that he’s been dating for a couple of months. He has his own apartment, pays all the bills and has a roommate as well. He’s really, really, really happy which is all a Mom ever hopes for their child. Can you conceptualize what our lives would have been without Heilkunst? I would still be saddled with his full time care and never have had the time to study, let alone practice this system of medicine. All those individuals that we’ve helped, would never have been cured and I most certainly would not have the health to be in relationship with Jeff, which means I would have never had his mentorship during my practice or his help to write thirteen books. God knows I’d probably be completely burned out or worse! It is amazing to me how one little drop of NSOL and my Constitutional remedy all those years ago started to turn my whole life around. Kind of like the 1945 movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Perhaps you know the film starring James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams in order to help others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be had he never been born. That’s what it feels like to me, looking back over almost two decades. It is a wonderful life and if I had a tree with a bell that rings, I’d know that another angel just got his wings! As I know that I was divinely led to this path, this path to cure. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 23 : Where to go from Here?

Paracelsus wrote, “The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician.” He also wrote about how God has provided a remedy for every disease. In my self-study, at the time, I was learning that it would have been horribly cruel to drop us humans down on this earth with no capacity to cure ourselves. Richard Leviton wrote the book “Physician” which explores the “mind-body-environment” connection, and shows how the very nature of modern medicine obstructs true spiritual development. He says that, “By learning how homeopathy and other energetic approaches to health and wellness function, we may discover truly effective tools for healing while opening new gateways to spiritual growth. If we’re really savvy and astute, through Heilkunst, we can recover our essential selves through the portal of the natural world through energetic medicine. It is the critical step in countering the deadly diseases of the past, the present and the future. It is our birthright to be cured without being caused an ounce of harm. It is interesting to me that some patients just come to us to solve their physical health issues, such as allergies, while others seem to want the whole keys to the kingdom of consciousness. No matter their goals, we’ve arrived at a place in our own health and knowledge to supply them with the specific tools that they seek. It is on their terms that we serve them. As I look back, now, after a four year medical degree and a postgraduate research study, I feel so very fortunate to be proffered these tools for curing and healing. I’m so thankful to Jordan for having brought me here! I am as in awe today and I was back then, now having helped hundreds of people out of the realm of suffering to a place of whole health. It causes me to bow down in thanks and supplication to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann and others, also that almighty Force that thought to lay down the principles of cure at our bended knee for those able to see them. It’s truly been like finding the sword in the stone. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 22 : Facing The Shadow

We’re coming close to the end of The Path to Cure audiobook. At this juncture, I felt I was starting to own some significant real estate within myself. The light within me was more than a kindled flame, more like a smoldering fire with licks that were beginning to blaze within the belly of the lion. I could see the ribs just as Carl Jung once surmised, “How do you find a lion that has swallowed you?” The Chthonic Realm of fear, ignorance and terror that had contributed to my PTSD and which also had defined much of Jordan’s plight was being annihilated. Talk about the phoenix rising from the bones of my own historical ashes. I was reeling! The theme of having tried to mother everyone but my own self, my sister included, became part of the ash. Trying to rescue and fix Jordan to the exclusion of myself also turned to ash. Attempting to address my hobbled marriage, also became the anatomy of the ash. The false ego adding to the cinders at my freshly washed and anointed feet. This was a tremulous state I found myself in. It was quiet, ruminative, quiescent here with only my health and well-being to care, love and nurture. It was a given that I loved my children beyond all earthly bones and cosmic stars, but this was now an inside-out kind of love. It mysteriously was anchored to Source. Not a mere conjuring from the outside-in. My kids could feel the immensity of it and it also changed them. They too committed wholly to being themselves en route to a fuller self-actualization. I began to voraciously study Rudolf Steiner. I went through his book, “How To Know Higher Worlds” severals times. I gobbled up Henri Bortoft’s heady piece, “The Wholeness of Nature.” I chewed down on Willhelm Reich’s journals on Beyond Psychology and his biological experiments. It was like I was learning for the first time and I was a voracious reader. I was hungry to know what had changed me, the fundamental principles of Heilkunst Medicine and why I’d been salvaged from my own diseased wreckage.   == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 21 : Breast Tumor

Through the Heilkunst medical process, I was not only turning my psyche inside-out for my viewing pleasure, but pathological physical issues also were also coming up for grabs. I was healing from the inside out! My breast tumor, although a shock to my psyche, ended up having a deep functional purpose. Did you know that I still “date myself” regularly? In fact, I spent 7 months last Winter on a solo sabbatical, taking the opportunity to write another book about some health issues I found myself in of recent. As mentioned prior, the Cancer state of mind lives from the outside-in, reliant on false authority and patriarchy, looking to be rescued by a mythical prince on a fine white steed. Until then, she lives the unlived life, rescuing others to the exclusion of her own self. The tumor can take 5-50 years to show up, as our body is masticating and digesting cancer cells all of the time. If the state of mind engenders, just as a pregnancy does, we become prey to these errant forces labeled ‘Cancer’. If you think about it, dissecting Cancer on the psychic level, you’d tease apart a tumor to find disappointed love, broken expressions of creativity, missed opportunities, anger, shame, grief, guilt, fear and very little magic. Giving up, numbness and resignation are defining characteristic of this disease. Lusty expressions of self-love have been marginalized and forsaken while a mother lives for her children secretly blaming her husband for not fixing her suffering. It is the husband who becomes the workaholic to try to live out the expectations of his father and society. It is a pitiable existence, all told and worthy of cure. I’ve just had a stage 4 Cancer patient gain 27 lbs, outlive the 6 month death sentence and start walking, gardening and producing raucous acts of creativity within her domain. It is heartening to witness these cures. It becomes paramount that we rescue ourselves –it’s an inside-out job. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 19 : Round Number Two

At this place in my Heilkunst treatment, I was really owning the process. Gone were the feelings of victimization and helplessness and increasing was the resonance in my relationships. My life was a testament to a stunning number of polarities. My marriage had come apart, but I was so stunningly in love now with my soul’s mate. My son had been so profoundly ill, but my daughter was mind-blowingly healthy. My relationship with family was feeling stagnate and old friendships becoming stale while my relationship to my chosen intimates was spawning new life and deliciousness. I was fully becoming. Yes, is was a painful process, however, I just couldn’t commit to staying in the relationships created out of my former diseased matrix, and I was deeply compelled to move on. Some folks will give up Heilkunst treatment for this very reason. Some individuals just aren’t ready to chose their essential self over their karmic history and traditions. With the dissolution of my marriage I was also freed from trying to live up to the expectations of Judaism. I realized that always striving to please others was a remnant of my past; a desire to belong where abandonment would be a thing of the past. The thing was, I was still abandoning myself. Instead of obligations, I began to trust that my life could be filled out of my capacity to stay present to my inner volitions. I lost the taste for secondary drives like shopping, television, and mindless conversation. I naturally began to step up into my primary drives out of love, sex and an intimate desire to fully becoming. First, it felt like an ember of excitement, then a constant flame of contentment, fun, embraced challenges, ease and afternoons of intimacy with my beloved Jeff. My son was doing really well at Waldorf, my young daughter was loving preschool at the same school as her brother. I was studying Heilkunst and loving every minute of what I was learning. For the first time in my life, I was feeling deeply fulfilled and it was all stemming from within! I still can’t get over how I plumbed the distance between these polarities and found the path to cure. It’s a bit like having a baby, I know there were challenges, but can you believe how beautiful this new infant of fully becoming is?! I still marvel at this phenomenon today for both myself AND my patients. It blows my mind! == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 18 : My Miasmic Baggage

A big core theme around breathing came to the fore with clearing my Genetic Miasms, especially Psora. It was interesting to me that my mother’s suicide occurred late September when this Miasm also correlates seasonally. Both books, “Messages From The Body” by Michael J. Lincoln and “The Healing Power of Illness” by Thorwald Dethlefsen speak to how when “inspiration” is thwarted, it will show up as grief; in particular to how it relates to losses and disappointments as per the relationship with the mother. This was the “red thread” or the etiology of my case. As I continued down the Heilkunst bunny trail, through the Miasms, the chaotic nature of my symptoms were abating. I was starting to see so very clearly how this ginormous suppressive loss had coloured my whole world. Subconsciously, my mother’s suicide was a dance card that I held in relief, in my back pocket, never wholly committing to my life. I’d always had one foot in the other realm, willing to play that card at a moment’s notice. Without the former traumas and Miasms bearing down on me, I realized that this gesture as an escape artist was not essentially mine, but my mother’s. I’d inherited it, but it wasn’t essentially mine. As a result, I became much more “inspired.” I was fuelled to know, to write, to research, to write some more. My inner muse from childhood began to explode with the desire to know myself. That fount has never been capped! As I sit and write this almost 12 years since The Path To Cure was released, I just released my 13th book (including 2 books of poetry), hundreds of blogs, and dozens of contributions to other magazines and books. Believe me, I’m the most surprised of anyone. This blossoming into one’s essential self turns out to be the birthright of every individual. I’m still so surprised how Heilkunst is the vehicle to take any truly committed individual exactly there. I see it hour after hour with my patients. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 17 : The Miasms

Back at the onset of my Heilkunst treatment, do you recall my skepticism about how this placebo based medicine wasn’t going to be able to address the larger percentage of my ills? At this juncture of my treatment, I was not only pleasantly surprised, but the word ‘elated’ kept coming to mind. This was turning out to be a deeply guided tour into my consciousness, an excavation of self. I was beginning to think that Heilkunst might hold the keys for the medical kingdom. What if this system of medicine didn’t just unlock symptoms, but that a human being got to plumb their whole functional purpose? In those early days, it was all too much for my pea brain to muster. Having served hundreds of patients, now, and having witnessed precisely the same trajectory, only the details are different. I had a patient wrap up her own Heilkunst treatment last week stating that she could never have imagined that her more superficial symptoms to lead to such a mind-blowing illumination of self-discovery. I know, me too! Here’s a little more on each Genetic Miasms that are presented in this chapter, as well as the three more that have since been added. Evolution keeps marching on and Heilkunst is flexible enough to heed the call, it would seem: Psora – “the itch disease,” restlessness, despair, allergies, colds that correspond with the fall, poverty consciousness. Sycosis (Medhorrinum) – gonorrhea, excessively passionate, strong needs for expression, extremists, excesses both experientially (ie., bungy jumping and extreme sports) and sexually, vices like drugs and alcohol. Syphilis – genital ulcer, marked tissue destruction, facial/teeth abscesses and abnormalities, a break down on all levels, near misses, accidents, insidious self-destructive tendencies. Tuberculosis – “pseudo-psora,” yearning for travel, unfulfilled romantic types, ADD, chronic constipation, displays of rage and spite, constant moving from place to place. Cancer – sensitivity, patients who live “outside themselves,” rescuing others to the exclusion of themselves, not embracing of their own lives, fastidious, love of chocolate, desire dancing and thunderstorms. Suffering from the “unlived life.” Since The Path To Cure was written, as mentioned above, three more miasms have been unearthed at the Hahnemann College for Heilkunst: Malaria: nauseousness, diarrhea, fever, flu-like, feelings of giving up, forced letting go, why bother? Ringworm: circular rash, thrush, athletes foot, fungal issues, Groundhog Day theme; struggle, struggle, struggle, give up, and then try all over again. Lyme: Complete implosion of the immune system, total withdrawal from society, the most extreme end of the “quiet” scale on the autism spectrum. The miasmatic load we all carry is subsequently passed on to our children, which was personally my biggest fear. My sole goal became to solve this in my beloved babes and also in myself and see what was buried below. It was clear that producing enough traumas in my childhood led to the tendrils of these diseases from spawning symptoms in my physical body. I realized that ALL diseases start in the mind before any symptoms appear, turning the whole of medical science on its hiney. I was just scratching the surface in the way of knowledge and Heilkunst’s foundational principles. I didn’t know that this system of medicine would become one of the great loves of my life. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 16 : My Birth

I imagined this aspect of my Heilkunst Treatment kind of like the scales of justice. The weight of my burgeoning health increasing on one side while the weight of my diseases were being shredded in the process, lessening my load substantially. While my trust and faith in the Heilkunst treatment was increasing, the healing reactions were kicking my proverbial hiney. Imagine my shock and amazement when I got to relive my birth both physically and emotionally! I couldn’t believe how much my present actually was lining up with the events of the past. Although breathing was temporarily challenging, I intuited that I was positively addressing the shock and trauma around my birth. This was an intimate, inside-out healing process — knowing that, without my mother present, meant that I was developing an inner guiding system for knowing the details of my past. What a frightening gift! While my gratitude was struggling to expand, at this juncture, I turned to girding my loins for what was coming down the pipe with regards to the Genetic Miasms. I was developing more of a “bring it on” attitude as I was celebrating that I was really getting to know myself! Healing Jordan’s and my own birth really set up how I navigated my daughter, Adie’s birth, in 1998. While she was born in the Ice Storm of The Century during a state of emergency in our region of Canada, I had a very successful VBAC (Vaginal Birth After C-Section)! This was virtually unheard of by the midwife from England. It was a joyous and life altering event for me in that I’d begun using homeopathic remedies and she literally fell out of me without a push. I chronicled Adie’s birth in my second book, “Unfolding The Essential Self” where I talk about how traumas from birth can influence psychological armouring later on in life. Also, my personal evolution at this point had led me to explore the relationship between vaccination and autism, and I was being asked to contribute to a number of publications, magazines and books. I was invited by Andreas Bachmair to contribute to the book Vaccine Free: 111 Stories of Unvaccinated Children, where I shared Adie’s birth story. My life’s traumas were really starting to be converted from an expression of abandonment and marginalization into Love. I was starting to feel more liberated and enthusiastic about it all. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 15 : The Depths of Treatment (Part 2 of 2)

My more externalized way of being was starting to shift. I began to stop rescuing others solely to the exclusion of myself or secretly committing emotional suicide. I started to see some occurrences and signs that I just might be healing, as unfathomable as that might have been at first. Don’t get me wrong, this Heilkunst process wasn’t easy but it was starting to feel like the narrow escape from self-destruction and a certain death might be staved off for at least an additional moment or two. Crazily, I started to see signs occurring in my outer ambient as having a direct affect on my inner millieux. For the first time in my life, there was a bit of space in my belly where I could intuit things, and actually make small decisions. This doesn’t mean that I was heaving buckets of hate over the bow, but I was feeling visitations from motherly monarchs as a sign that I was not an accidental disaster. I felt that my Mom was actually trying to help me from beyond the veil. I also started to catch up with inner experiences to do with “the light.” A clear indication of attempting to heal, stepping into my true astral (dreams and aspirations) desire function. Allowing external impulses to lead me more through the domain of occurrences and inspiration. It had been a long time off-grid and I was mystically and spiritually starved for a sign that my life might have some intention, meaning or even a purpose. I was hungry to experience other modalities in this realm that might hasten my awakening as I was terrified of the healing process. I went to a craniosacral therapist to try and screw my head on right and facilitate the nasty nature of my healing reactions to help pick up the slack of the gnarly rubber band effect that I felt. I was also starting to buy books en masse in order to understand better the healing power of my own illness. I was gradually gaining some conscious footing with regards to my health and with that, my symptoms were angrily beginning to abate. God knows, I can never do anything with ease, grace or gentle aplomb. If my suffering was going to diminish, I was going to know why and how. I was marshalling resources to go into the heart of my darkness, this time from the inside out. I began keeping a journal and although, I’d not cultivated faith, an inkling of hope was shining like a flashlight down the long dark and arduous tunnel of my history. I suddenly realized that I was writing again. I was truly shocked and amazed that a little placebo water pill was turning this all around. Chapter 15 : The Depths of Treatment (Part 1 of 2)

This was an intense time for me. I didn’t realize it wholly at the time, but I was completely living from the outside-in. I was so projected into Jordan’s experience, totally having abandoned my own, that I didn’t even know how to live from under my own skin. In fact I didn’t even know who I was supposed to be, having been reduced to just an empty casing with dead eyes and expected parlance. Certainly, when I looked at my timeline, I could see how this empty, vacuous woman had been formed; the faulty attempt at finding a home with a new religion, culture, family who were all rejecting me just as I was rejecting myself, the tailspinning marriage mirroring my own descent into a personal hell, the binge drinking and recreational drugs of the past, the lack of any deep communion with family or friends spoke to the mud-skipping superficiality of my fake human experience. The death of my parents, especially my mother, had gutted me. I secretly kept her suicide as an option in my conscious back pocket, just in case I might need it one day. Patty let me know that this was part of the disease matrix for the Genetic Miasm Syphilis. My fibromyalgia-like life spoke to this armored, insidious self-destructive mess I was living having attempted to use drugs, alcohol and sex to numb the pain. I felt like Holden Caulfield en route to Marilyn Munroe. Interestingly I played the tragic Munroe in a variety shoe in in 8th grade … apparently, I was told, that I stole the show. I was secretly assuming an exit strategy and I realized that if I did nothing, the end result would be the same, only slower. Even Patty spoke to how if left to my own devices, the other Miasm Cancer, was alive and also having its way with me. I found out that the nature of this disease is a modern woman’s “socially acceptable form of suicide”. My headaches, chronic fatigue and PMS all spoke to this one’s chronic theme. I was a suffering an insufferable mess and I was concerned that I wasn’t going to have the mental or physical resources to motivate any real change in my life. Far be it for any innocuous homeopathic remedies to address my filled-to-the-brim state of overflowing anguish. I was curious, totally unconvinced and angry as a bear with its foot caught in the teeth of a metal trap. I was permanently postured in an F-off mode! With the first remedies, I was laid bare in the most three dimensional way, now trapped with a hate so primal, I felt I could have committed some irreversible crime; I was internally assaulted and I came out fighting. The rage was beyond anything I could ever contain. My symptoms blossomed, tripling my angst further, with psoriasis, canker sores, breathing issues and stitches in my chest so profound in my heart muscle I wondered if I might be having my own heart attack. Patty gave me the phone number by her bed. I called once when I couldn’t breath and thought I was suffocating. There were other times, too, that I had wished to crawl right up between both her and Rudi for a night … perhaps two. I was so broken, craving some force or person from the outside to rescue me. That individual never came, but something so much juicier finally did. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 13 – Which constitution are you? (Part 2 of 2)

Are you starting to see the benefits of discerning which genotype you are? Does it speak to the polarities in your own relationships? I found that when I started to learn about Constitutions more that it gave me some real insights as to why some folks just could not relate to me and the way that I process more out of feelings, images and pictures. A Calc. for example takes a more logical, systematic and methodological approach to wrap their IQ mind around anything in their world. They abhor chaos and so they love to impose a system, a process or a program, to help things run more smoothly. Like the Silicea, they much prefer to work in isolation in a more linear fashion. A Sulphur is the EQ change agent. They’re all about big change, made with a big splash with a whole lot of recognition as they go. They’re not much for linear execution, as they share their big ideas with just about anyone who’ll listen to them. They love attention and will often be creating a raucous, embarrassing their children and spouse in the process of being. They don’t understand why everyone is so darn self-conscious. They’re here to evolve consciousness with or without you. I was recently telling a Sulphur friend about someone I know who meditates for 4 hours per day – her response was classic for the Sulphur type : “What can you do in there for that long?” The Lycopodium can feel like they’re bridging both the upper and lower triad, along with the Pulsatilla. They will also say that they enjoy both their time alone and time with people. While money and climbing the corporate ladder is their modus operandi in the workplace while being a monumental success, they’re also often working alone in their home office until late into the night. They can easily become workaholics. Playing with their kids, or taking a hike with their spouse can help to balance this inclination to be working non-stop. Now let’s get back to this week’s section of the audiobook. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 13 – Which constitution are you? (Part 1 of 2)

When Jeff and I are working with patients to discern their Constitutional type, one of the tendencies we’re looking at is where on the spectrum they fall between introversion and extraversion (or ‘IQ’ and ‘EQ’). We might ask them if they recharge their energy more from being with people, or being alone. For example, a Silicea Constitution will typically answer minimally by stating, “Definitely alone.” In fact, they may express it with a measure of annoyance that they even have to put up with all those needy emotional EQ dominant folks, they being more IQ in orientation. They love being alone to think, process and work autonomously. Being constantly disrupted is such a source of annoyance to them. The Phosphorous individual will excitedly and emphatically tell you about how they get their greatest source of energy from being with other people. I serve a young Phos. in the States and she was saying just last week that College was harder than she expected, that studying for long stretches can feel like a drag on her energy, causing her to fall asleep, but that she loves fundraising with her sorority and working at the local restaurant where she can flare with her sparkling personality. We also got into the realm of packing for a trip and she bubbled with surprise when I told her everything I own can now fit in just one large suitcase and a carry-on. It was funny watching her eyes and mouth open with surprise and spout, “What about all your shoes?” I laughed to hear her project her feelings on this subject onto me as I pragmatically explained that I can only wear one pair of shoes at a time and that living more nomadically meant I had to pare down my pairs of footwear. Phos. love to dress up like Hollywood divas and decorate themselves for a fun party or social event. The Pulsatilla will usual hem and haw for a moment or two wanting to please you by giving the right answer, but then will come to the decided conclusion that “both” is the correct feeling for them. They will go on to embellish that while they love being with people, they also need their alone time in order to regroup and replenish. A Puls. will talk about their family, and how much they love getting everyone all organized at work or at home. Their heartfelt gestures and doe-like eyes will let you know that a good book in front the the cozy fire is as important to them as meeting a good friend for tea to chat about their beloved babe or new love interest. They love receiving praise and acknowledgement from others. Do you fall into any of these categories with regards to EQ or IQ? Do you feel that you may be in this upper triad of constitutional types? If not, we’ll explore some of the same questions with regards to the lower constitutional triad next week. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

  13. 15

    Chapter 12 – What’s a Constitution?

Now we’re getting more into the meat and bones of Heilkunst Medicine. The Constitutions are what every one of our patients love as it is a real window into their personality and characteristics. When we’re asking questions of patients at their Initial Consultation, we will ask them, ‘Do you prefer hot or cold foods?’ or ‘Do you prefer to be with people or more alone?’ or ‘Are you meatier in body structure or more long and leggy?’ or ‘Do you think more in pictures or in linear text?’ This line of questioning starts to help us drill down to discern whether the person is more EQ (emotional) or IQ (intellectual) as well as whether they are more in the upper or lower triad of constitutions. This simply means, do you assume most of your power from the cosmic, more refined, spherical thinking pole or are you more earth-fed with gestures that speak of your grounding, thrust and robust energy? The more plant-like Constitutions like Pulsatilla and Lycopodium can have more variable traits while the remaining ‘mineral types’ will have a more constant nature. When a patient takes their “Constitutional Remedy” it will bolster their health, give them an upswing of emotional and physical strength and vigor. In the Classical paradigm of Homeopathy, any remedy is considered a “Constitutional Type.” Heilkunst principles disagree, limiting the genotypes to only 6 natural healthy types, as illustrated in forthcoming chapters, as well as the 6 phenotypes, which are constitutional states under stress or trauma. In well over a decade of practice, we have clinically verified this model, as we have participated these types and how they tend to express both health and disease in their life. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 11 – The Timeline Approach

At this juncture in the story, I was really coming to terms with how the life force is affected by trauma. This burgeoning knowledge caused me to grapple with feelings of guilt and shame with having forgotten a traumatic event on Jordan’s timeline. I was so surprised to find out that the body never forgets what has transpired historically both physically and emotionally. It actually seems to keep a rolodex of this knowledge in its cellular memory and by going back in time, the body just keeps offering up the next event to be treated sequentially every 28 days! Perhaps you’ve intuited this phenomenon yourself. Have you ever felt that something deeper is, or was, not addressed because other events are sort of piled on top of it? The burden of it all just getting heavier and heavier over time. I’ve had patients say that they were trying to process grief around a loss when a huge move occurred, or a slew of requirements at work came up, or a death in their husband’s family suddenly occurred, breaking the capacity for coming to terms with the frayed ends of their feelings. The natural resolution suddenly seems circumvented as your life force gets yanked into a whole other tide of culminating feelings. Chaos ensues! This was also a phenomenon for me through the process of healing. As Jordan started to get healthier and healthier, my mind and body were naturally beginning to take stock of my personal life. You probably know by now that I had a horrible self-image and that I hadn’t even thought to be intimate with my own thoughts or feelings for the last few years. This gesture of self-abandonment was also showing up as a symptom in my marriage. We’d forgone intimacy mentally, emotionally and physically for such a length of time that we were practically strangers to one another. We kind of regarded each other as survivalists who’d loved to have voted each other off this island of former terror and chaos. We had no clue on what basis to reconnect. It was a horrible feeling to realize that the scaffolding of the relationship may not have been able to weather the Autism storm. We both looked like deer caught in the PTSD headlights. We didn’t have any clue how to reconnect or on what basis? Have you ever had this sick feeling of what might be necessary in choosing your own health and well-being over another’s? == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 10 – The Journey Begins

Perhaps you’ve also hit the dark night of your own soul at a time or even multiple times in your life. If you’ve ever felt a completely numbed out depression and fear, you’ll totally get the place of suffering that I was at. That first dose of Heilkunst Medicine did not go down well. I recall, when I got up from the kitchen floor, being profoundly edgy, irritable and irate that something that was supposed to be innocuous had taken me from numb to a profound rage in the first dose. My hands began to shake. Again, I wondered, at the power of such a supposedly inert substance. I’d been chronically fatigued for years. I suffered anxiety and asthma attacks that came out of nowhere, seemingly thrust into my vacant sign like a breaching whale. On these occasions, emerging like a shot out of nowhere, I’d cough and sputter, eyes wide in terror from my depths. Every time I had my menstrual period, I was in bed with headaches and a unexplained pain through my trunk and limbs and a heaviness that was impossible to describe. Taking the day off work, lying in bed watching Oprah at 4:00 p.m. was the only bit of pleasure that I seemed to be able to derive from a span of 24 hours. Perhaps you can relate in some way. I was rudderless, my sail tattered and torn and the navigation system long turned off. I was a victim of my own traumatic past with a timeline peppered with events like, my beloved mother’s suicide, my dad’s sudden death at the age of 43 when I was 17, my uncle’s abuse, my godmother’s alcoholism, my son’s illness and hellish plummet into autism had all taken its toll. I had to get out of this place … == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 9 – Treating Mom

As you now know, Jordan’s issues were mostly resolved by this juncture. Imagine my utter confusion in that my full time project to address my son’s suffering had suddenly come to an end. It was so abrupt, really, that I felt like Wile E. Coyote after a 4.5 year chase of the elusive Roadrunner. I was so resigned to be living this nightmare for the rest of my life that my whole psyche was skating frantically on air. I’d run out of tarmac to try and gain purchase on, I was a post-traumatic distressed wreckage. Waking in the night suffering asthma attacks and suffering fatigue in the daytime so chronic, I couldn’t muster how I would get through another day, or even put another meal on the table. The headaches and dizziness were unbearable. After sliding down that wall to stare at myself in the hall closet mirror, as mentioned, I didn’t recognize the face staring back at me. Who was this beleaguered, swollen, overweight, and lifeless woman? Why is her face so pale? Why are her eyes so dead and vacant? Did she always have dark circles under her eyes? What does the poor thing need? I wrapped my arms around myself and wept. My whole life felt like I’d been suppressing my own generative capacity. Taking the good government job with the pension out of some elusive expectation based on my familial matrix. The essence of my life force was barely surviving in an 8 X 10 government cubicle where I felt souls like me had come to die. It was an insidious nightmare, but I had no clue what I should be doing? What was I meant to be? Did I have any functional purpose left? I was numbed out. I’d lost all contact to myself and others. And then I got my first Heilkunst Medicine, a dose from my very own brown bottled dropper of “NSOL” for grief, anger, fear, guilt and resentment and my whole world spun on her axis. No, I mean literally! The grape vine wallpaper in my kitchen turned in undulating circles. I thought I was tripping on some LSD slipped into the water supply. I was dizzy, felt underwater and slid, once more, to the floor … this time in the kitchen. The kids watched me plummet as we ate picnic style from the linoleum tarmac. Chapter 8 – Back to Jordan

Perhaps you’ll recall that way back then, I was a financial advisor. I didn’t believe in any woo woo magic stuff that couldn’t be proven logically, or scientifically. How could a bunch of bio-energetic medicines, that wouldn’t measure on any chemist’s material scale cure my son’s serious diseases? How was this even possible? I was not prepared for what we began to see in Jordan’s case. I was shocked to witness not just physical clearings of his sufferings, but big emotional leaps start to occur too. I likened the process a bit to giving birth, while the healing reactions could be arduous and messy with the big fevers vomiting and diarrhea, there began to be such monumental leaps in cognition and his physical capacities that I was seriously blown away. He suddenly began to gain weight, his feet were growing, he was starting to eliminate regularly and his speech started to resume. I still recall when he first said, “I love you Mom.” It was after one of the vaccine clears. When we addressed the Tuberculinum Genetic Miasm, in sequential order this time, the rage completely dissipated, he didn’t suffer ADD-like symptoms anymore and he used the bathroom to pass stool totally unaided. At first, I didn’t know what to do with myself. It was like getting fired from a full-time job without any notice! I was simply dazed and confused. But I had my little boy back, a fully operational model. I felt like the spell had been removed from my very own Pinocchio. I would need time to get to know my new son … and repair my broken self. Chapter 7 – part 3 of 3 – Sequential Therapy?

Have you ever wanted to roll back the clock? Have you felt shame about specific things you may have caused in the way of a shock or trauma to your child? I sure did. I was terrified that my mother’s issues of schizophrenia and manic depression were somehow lodged in my son and that the vaccine insult had somehow invited this genetic mess to the surface. Were her issues showing up as Autism in him? I’d always been apprehensive to have children and here I was living a hell on earth due to my procreative indiscretion. I just kept feeling haunted by thoughts that my dirty genes were clearly showing up in my son. I was irked with feelings of guilt. Then, to make matters worse, I went and exacerbated the situation by inviting the nether disease monsters from below by adding 19 different chemicals and adjuvants to my son’s already delicate condition by allowing the MMR vaccine to be injected in him. When my Heilkunst Practitioner, Patty, offered that we might be able to reverse the ill effects in Jordan by plucking each trauma from his timeline, including the vaccines, I was skeptical at best. Especially when she further suggested that we would then eradicate those Miasmic Monsters coming down our family line, my materialistic brain simply just shut down with lack of proof. How was this possible? Was she kidding me? I couldn’t even imagine, if it were indeed remotely true, what this might look like. However, I dutifully plotted Jordan’s sequential timeline; itemizing the meds., suppositories, enemas, hospital visits, general anasthetic/surgery for removing the impacted stool manually, multiple rounds of antibiotics, ear infections, pneumonia, vaccine shocks and his horrendous birth trauma. What a laundry list of shame! You’ll just have to listen on to see what happens … I still can’t believe it! == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 7 – part 2 of 3 – Sequential Therapy?

Ever notice that when you go to the Doctor, you’re limited to a couple of questions, the prescription pad comes out and then you’re simply off to the drugstore to get a tube full of cream or a bottle full of pills? Do you ever feel short-changed as a result? Are you ever curious to find out more about why you’re suffering the symptoms in the first place and if there’s another way? This is the point that I got to for Jordan and myself. I was learning, through this Heilkunst Medicine process that there are only 3 things that medicine can do. It can palliate, suppress or cure. Palliation is really just an illusion that the symptoms are gone, suppression is really just a bigger illusion that the symptoms are gone and a cure means that not only the symptoms are gone, but they’re not coming back. Which one do you want? We all know this to be true as when you go off a drug, often the symptoms are buried below ready to rear their ugly head again. Monsters, monsters, monsters! Occasionally, we’ll think that that antibiotic (literally meaning “against life”) cured the pneumonia last Winter, but then the following year, we feel the same symptoms coming on to find out that this time the disease is now three times worse putting us into the hospital. We can eat well and exercise, but if you’re suffering a repeating disease matrix, suppression and palliation are not going to resolve it outright. We’re also finding that Ibuprofens are increasing asthma and heart issues by 50%; just another illustration of how palliation and suppression comes with a cost, a “sacrifice” on our lifeforce. This week you’ll learn some of the philosophy and principles behind where our medical thinking took some wrong turns and how we need to lawfully cure disease on its own terms; on the generative side of our living principle (the roots of disease). Please bear with me as I try to make the very complex philosophy of Heilkunst as simple as possible for you, the listener, to understand. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 7 – part 1 of 3 – Sequential Therapy?

This week you get to live my first visit to Patty’s office with initial intake forms and Jordan’s timeline in hand. I was beginning to understand that we were going to strip my son of his emotional and physical shocks and traumas, one by one, in the order that he had assumed them. We were going to begin in the present and work back to his birth, the idea being that if the roots are eradicated, the symptoms no longer have anything to anchor to. I realized that this process was distinctly different than what the other homeopath had tried. While the classically-trained homeopath had given one remedy per person, this Heilkünstler was doing something totally different, often prescribing multiple remedies for each disease matrix that Jordan had suffered on his timeline. Apparently this was going to address the generative roots of his disease matrix, while all other approaches to date had been mostly sustentive in an attempt to “balance” his health. He also got an Emotional Support Dropper Bottle full of remedies along with a Drainage and Organ Support Combination to address regular detoxification, and to address constipation issues. Both droppers were to be taken daily while the timeline remedies were taken differently, in a series of lactose powder over several nights. I was curious to know if this prior shortfall in homeopathy’s one remedy per person approach would be resolved with this more dynamic system. The other aspect of Heilkunst treatment was to ensure Jordan had enough water in his daily regimen, along with foods for his “B” blood type diet. A diet typology researched by Dr. D’Adamo in his book, “Eat Right For Your Type” that meant Jordan was going to have more easily assimilable foods more ideally suited to his biological constitution. Eat Right 4 Your Type We also needed to eliminate the sugars and grains from his diet. How the heck was I going to do that? Jordan lived on chicken fingers, hot dogs and carrot sticks with dip. He deemed ketchup a vegetable! He seemed to hate anything else that I offered him. He’d live on sugar and carbs if I’d let him. Boy, back then, I had a lot to learn. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 6 – Jordan’s final effort to ‘hang on’

As we round the corner into Chapter 6, this week, you may be feeling some of the angst and frustration that I was.  A friend of mine had read my book when it was first released in paperback.  He surprisingly said he read it standing up, all in one go, while standing at his kitchen counter.  He had MS and walked with a cane, so this is saying quite a lot.  Also, he counselled me that each copy of the book should come with a box of kleenex. It’s true, I’d never felt so alone or forsaken.  My family accused me of allowing Jordan to rule the family roost and that they had higher expectations of me as a person as I used to exhibit such capable qualities when I was younger.  They even asked what was wrong with me and why I’d changed so much to become so weak, allowing my son to be clearly in charge?  These comments struck deep, as hurtful as they were, I knew they were right.  I just couldn’t seem to leverage all the grief, fear, bitterness, resentment, shame and guilt that now defined me.  It was like a plague … I was literally stimming with it all internally. I know after having served other “Autism Moms” for many years, now, that we share a common bond.  Our stories are actually very similar, I’ve found.  I’ve often wondered what the underlying meaning is behind this state of mind and if it relates somehow as a phenomenon in our autistic babe’s plight.  What if because I was not able to fully actualize myself that this was also contributing to Jordan’s inability to download an identity of his own?  His lining up of his cars, his lack of feeling, and his rage-filled outbursts seemed to have some qualities of the suppressed content I’d come to successfully keep under wraps.  Was there a connection? In this chapter, you’ll see a small window of hope finally become a door. Little did I know at the time that I was embarking on a chapter in my life so monumental that nothing would ever look or feel the way that it did prior.  I’d never felt such terror and hope all in the same breath. In Chapter 6, I am introduced to a different kind of homeopathy called “Heilkunst”. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 5 – Jordan meets Homeopathy

Do you remember that brand new homeopathic materia medica that I still had in its plastic wrapping back in Chapter 3? Well, today in Chapter 5, you’ll find out that I actually cracked that book open, and started to get quite enthused with homeopathy.  The weekly sessions in my home were starting to have an impact on me and over the next couple of years, I slowly began to integrate the use of “one remedy per person” into our family’s  first aid treatment. I would buy a new remedy every one or two months, try it, and then kind of forget about it.  Typically, it wouldn’t work and I made the assumption that either I just wasn’t a very good prescriber, or that these microdoses didn’t have the potential to cure anything.  After all, I was a financial advisor with a background in sociology and criminology, so I was a kind of ‘see it to believe it’ kind of gal. Also, how could something so infinitesimal actually cure a disease matrix so profound like Jordan’s autism anyway?  I mean, really, it didn’t even remotely make any sense. I sought out the advice of a well-known classical homeopath in our village, hoping that she could help to demystify this for me. At the onset, I was very hopeful that she would be able to help to resolve Jordan’s physical and emotional distortions. I took her single remedy prescriptions diligently for several months and while Jordan’s issues improved a short time, all of his symptoms would return with a vengeance subsequent weeks thereafter.  As you’ll find out, I couldn’t figure out that if the remedies had no merit, why they’d have any effect at all. Was there something to this therapy, but it was somehow being under utilized? I was totally mystified with all alternative therapies at this time. I was also putting out between $350 to $500 per month for Homeopathy, Chiropractic, and energy work with little to no yield for which my husband was also getting fed up.  Again, my guilt and shame increased in incremental notches as time wore on.  What was I missing?  Obviously I was expecting way too much from from all of these alternative modalities.  I remember wondering, “What now?” == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 4 – Bad Boy Behaviour

In Chapter 4 you will get a chance to live through some of the darker emotional moments that I suffered with my son Jordan.  At this time, he’s between 2 and 4 years of age.  Everytime he needed to pass stool, he’d go behind the plant in the front hall, stand on his tippy toes and clench his butt cheeks together will all his might.  If you think that this is wholly counterintuitive to passing stool, you could not be more right.  I had no clue, either, why he was assuming this stance until later. Also, when the bolus (leaking stool dribbling past the impacted stool) entered the pull-up diaper, the smell would make me gag beyond comprehension.  My apologies, for the graphic description, but I want no woman or man to go through what I did without knowing that there is a reason for this. When I asked Jordan if I could change his pull-up (by 4 years, there were no diapers on the shelf left that would fit him and cloth diapers were not yet in vogue back then) he would literally lose his mind.  If I was able to wrestle him to his back, usually with wet stool and bolus leaking all over both of us and the floor, he would bite, kick, hit, slap and scream as if I was attempting to murder him.  To say I detested these incidents is an understatement. At least when his father was home, he could help to hold Jordan still while I removed the soiled diaper and replaced it with a new one. I felt such deep guilt and shame for my son who clearly wrestled with us in abject fear and terror.  Later on, I mastered changing his diaper with him standing up.  A feat few parents have maybe had to achieve.  At least this way, the abuse to both of us was mostly mitigated.  However, it would not be unusual for me to receive an errant blow to the side or back of my head. At this point, I was in pure survival mode.  I’d lost all semblance of self in time and in space.  I’d become an automaton, too afraid to even admit how much I truly hated my life. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 3 – Homeopathy, Magical Cure?

In this week’s Chapter, you’ll get to touch the tip of a very dynamic iceberg.  As you will learn, by a series of synchronicities, I end up hosting a class taught by a local classical homeopath in my home.  In fact, she practically barges into my careworn space, offering me the introductory course for free if I invite a small entourage of family and friends.  In fact, she tells me, she already has a few people interested in attending this mini course on Homeopathic First Aid in my area and what night of the week would I be interested in hosting? I acquiesced and received my very first Materia Medica by Dr. E.B. Nash from her that first night — along with 9 local suburbanites and family.  I remember staring at it in stunned silence as I ran my thumb over the plastic wrapping.  I was immediately taken with the use of the principle ‘like cures like’ to be able to resolve my son’s bruises, scrapes, cuts and minor low-grade fevers.  I was already thinking that I could save myself some trips to the Emergency Room if I was able to absorb this new information.  As the homeopath spoke, I started to think about how I might apply these remedies in real life situations. I learned that by using a 30CH or 200CH potency with Arnica Montana, Hypericum Perforatum, Ledum Palustre and Chamomilla that I could safely help my child to resolve minor first aid complaints at home.  With these remedies I’d be able to deal with bruises from falls, nerve damage to fingers jammed in a door, a black eye and anxious fussiness respectively.  I was very excited at this prospect, even though the description around potencies seemed a little mystifying to me at the time. I’ve got an extra chair set aside in my living room for you to join me this week in chapter 3 of The Path To Cure. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

Chapter 2 – Colic and Constipation

This week, we’re really getting into the meat of Jordan’s suffering. In Chapter 2, I describe how he suffered colic with around-the-clock screaming for the first 6 months of his life. It is interesting to me that I just saw a patient this week with the same issues with her baby. Chronic high-pitched screaming, and constipation so bad in her breastfed 2 month old that it felt as if the mustard-like grainy stool was being squeezed through a kinked hose while her baby pulled up her knees writhing in pain. When she asked me if this was her fault or somehow related to the Hep. B vaccine she was guilted into giving to her day-old newborn, my eyes filled with tears. After a dozen years, these kinds of questions still hit me right in the solar plexus like a punch of undischarged anger at my core. Participating with my patient’s suffering like this takes me right back to when infant Jordan had suffered the exact same condition. Although I had felt precisely the same as my patient, the internet was not what it is today, and I had no access to a community of like-minded parents to draw on for support, nor the access to any information illuminating issues such as the gut-brain connection to the vaccines. The consciousness of all of this wasn’t developed in the alternative therapists that I’d met, either. This week, you’ll learn how, at the time, the specialist at the top children’s hospital in Canada actually suggested putting my son on medication for the rest of his childhood, “as some boys just seem to suffer this way.”  No diagnosis or prognosis was forthcoming. I was determined to suss out the root cause. What could it be? I was so exhausted and spent, that some days my husband would leave for work and he’d kiss my tear-streaked cheeks goodbye while I held a wailing baby Jordan in my arms. I felt wrung out and lifeless. I knew I needed to resolve this for both Jordan and I, but how?  At the time, the issues felt insurmountable. Who or what could help both he and I? Knowing what I now know, one of my biggest regrets was in allowing Jordan’s ritual circumcision to take place — especially now that I’ve had over 20 years to ruminate and research on this topic.  I recall that day when the Mohel (Rabbi who performs ritual circumcision) was due to arrive, saying to my Mother-in-law that I just didn’t feel comfortable with it.  I was still so sick with the infection in my wound that I felt myself talked into it with the agreement that I’d be able to nurse Jordan the moment the procedure was done.  While we cleared this trauma event later on, using the appropriate homeopathic remedies, I sure wish my foresight had been 20/20. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Chapter 1 – Jordan’s Birth

If you’re anything like I was as a young mother dealing with an autistic child, you’re looking for someone, anyone, to extend you a warm hand with some real wisdom behind it. My hope is that you’ll feel at home and that my story will help you to illuminate your own path out of the autistic spectrum. From the moment this whole journey began with my son’s premature birth and early medical interventions, I wondered if I’d ever find the answers to my own questions: Why is my child Autistic? Where can I find true wholistic solutions? How do the gut and mind pieces fit together? Is there a link between vaccines and inherited factors? Did I do something to cause this?? Where can I find the support I need personally to get through this? I unfold the story exactly as I lived it, so that you can share in all that I experienced along the way to resolve my son’s stimming, chronic constipation, and lack of eye contact and speech. In the book’s foreword, by Rudi Verspoor, you’ll hear about how the natural medicine approach to autism, to be completely successful, must go beyond behavior assessment, gut management, or cognitive therapies, and actually identify and eliminate the root causes underlying the condition. Although my story does have a happy ending, Chapter 1 begins amongst feelings of chaos and confusion, with no apparent light at the end of the tunnel. Jordan’s premature birth, emergency C-section, and all of the other intrusive interventions set him (and us) down a path of health challenges which engulfed the whole of our lives. This bore no resemblance to the natural birth I might have originally imagined for him. I will also share with you how I, myself, was contributing to his suffering and how my exhaustion produced the most amazing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that felt just like I’d been through a war. Clear solutions did not seem to be forthcoming, and I found all of this out, entirely alone, with little support until I came to this system of medicine which I now practice. Well, enough of my lamentations and written description, after all you came to hear an audiobook. Without further ado, I give you chapter 1 of The Path to Cure; The Whole Art of Healing Autism. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==

    Foreword by Rudi Verspoor

The Foreword  (provided by Rudi Verspoor, Dean of the Hahnemann College For Heilkunst) gives a brief overview of Heilkunst Medicine, and the deep process of healing regularly experienced by its patients. Rather than a mere removal of symptoms, he outlines health and healing as a deeper journey of self-discovery. Bringing an individual to their fullest sense of self-expression is the goal within this system of healing. The Foreword  of The Path To Cure  sets the stage for the unfolding of Allyson discovering how to facilitate Jordan’s recovery from the autism spectrum, and her ultimate connection to her calling as a Heilkunst practitioner. == To access all of the enhanced audio and video content, go to www.thepathtocure.com/bonus?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss ==
