Episode 3: Prints, Paladins and Panic in the House of Sorrows
This week on the Paul and Wayne show, hosts Paul and Wayne take listeners on a rambling tour of the hobby life, from 3D printing successes and failures to classic Warhammer lore and a brutal D&D crawl. Topics covered: Tales from the Tavern charts their 3D printing journey (resin vs FDM, Bamboo Labs recommendations, terrain and trophy design), a deep-dive Lore Lounge on Giles le Breton and the Twelve Great Battles that united Bretonnia, and D&D Diaries covering a harrowing Curse of Strahd session beneath the House of Sorrows (ghosts, ghouls, a collapsing Throm and desperate healing). Key takeaways: how 3D printing has expanded the hobby, highlights of Bretonnian lore and allies, a tense session recap that leaves the party battered and low on resources, and honest, useful advice for beating the hobby slump (clean workspace, small tasks, terrain as a palette cleanser, and using play to motivate painting). Guests: Paul and Wayne. Also: mentions of UGHobby, upcoming Age of Sigmar tournament details, and plenty of off-script tangents, questionable wisdom and laughs.

Episode 2: Lone Battles, Cold Ruins, Bad Choices
This week on the Paul and Wayne Show, hosts Paul and Wayne dive into the rise of solo wargaming in Tales from the Tavern, discussing systems like Five Leagues From the Borderlands, Warriors of Athena and why solo campaigns and random tables are gaining popularity. In the Lore Lounge they explore Frostgrave: the frozen ruin of Felstead, its catastrophic magical winter, the thaw revealing vaults, undead and arcane treasures, and the narrative possibilities for warbands, wizards and modular table layouts. The D&D Diaries recount a tense session of Curse of Strahd’s Death House, the party uncovers a haunted attic, faces a vengeful nursemaid spectre and rescues Throm before they descend into the house’s cold, chanting depths. On the Hobby Desk Paul and Wayne talk painting and projects: Orcs & Goblins for Oathmark, undead skeletons, commission work and fast painting techniques (washes, drybrushing, contrast and layering), plus where to find their content on UG Hobby channels.

Dice, Frothing Beer & Rats: The Paul and Wayne Show Debuts
Welcome to the very first episode of The Paul and Wayne Show: Dice, Lore and War: a hobby podcast where tabletop gaming, rich lore, and ongoing campaigns collide. In this debut episode, we break out the dice and dive straight into the worlds that have shaped our hobby journeys, from rank-and-flank battles to ancient ratmen conspiracies, and into the mists of Barovia… Tales from the Tavern We kick things off by sharing our personal journeys through rank-and-flank wargaming. From the early excitement of Warhammer: The Old World to where we’ve landed now with the fantastic Oathmark. Expect reflections, comparisons, and why Oathmark might just be our current system of choice. The Lore Lounge Wayne takes us deep into Warhammer history with a look at the early introduction of the Skaven, focusing on The Vengeance of the Lichmaster (1986). We explore how the ratmen first emerged in the lore, and why they’ve become one of the most iconic factions in fantasy gaming. DnD Diaries Our latest campaign begins! We start our journey into Curse of Strahd, setting the scene for what promises to be a dark and deadly adventure. Characters are introduced, expectations are set, and Barovia awaits… The Hobby Desk We round things off with a relaxed chat about what’s currently on our hobby tables. Painting projects, plans, ideas, and the usual tangents that come with the territory. Expect nostalgia, rules arguments, lore, practical hobby tips and an entertaining mix of enthusiasm and ineptitude.
