Dealing with depression is not something that you should be ashamed or embarrased of. We need to open the conversation about depression and help each other. There are many avenues to receive help and the first one that you should start with is a medical doctor. Tell your friends and family that you are struggling and learn that your are not alone. It may feel that way at times but you are never alone. I struggle with depression, do you?

This week we talk about how imagery in media effects us as humans in our lifestyle and the vanilla world. This all started with a the movie poster for Xmen which depicted the main villain with his hands around Mystique's throat. There had to be an apology released and so many people were upset. Really?? Have we really gotten to the point where we are offended by any image that is not calm and peaceful? It's a movie with fictional characters. What do you think? Do you think it's a bad thing? Is there too much sexual imagery and violence in media, movies, games?

What does it mean to be free? I think it means letting go of the negative, the hate and the judgement. We also need to let go of our past mistakes and be open to living in the moment. It means forgiving ourselves and letting the negative parts of our past go. We also have to be willing to let the energy sucking people in our lives go too. You have all the power to surround yourself with good and positive people. Find your tribe or your family and get rid of the garbage that holds you back from being happy and most importantly from being FREE.

Is there something different? Is it for everyone? Sometimes people don't want to be apart of the majority and will strike out on their own to be unique and expand their experiences. It's those people who push us forward.

Don't do things because that's what is popular or that's what the majority says you should. Do your kink because it is simply the thing that makes you happy. If the people around you are not happy with your kink then find some people that are for you. On the flip side of all this is that we should not pressure people do our kinks or go to the same events that we go to because that's what we love. Tell them about it and let them find their joy and love for whatever it is that fills that void in their kink and life.

In order to create community we have to be willing to be involved. People have to get to know each other on a deeper level than just knowing what turns each other on. We all have to come together to educate, organize and create safe space. Bad behaviour needs to be addressed and corrected as a group. A community is not one person leading. A community is a group of people coming together to create something that is fluid and safe. We all have it in us to do all of these things. The questions is will you choose to?

Crazy Heart elaborates on what they said and talks about both sides of the coin. People can have very deep relationships with pain for many reasons. It helps to understand both perspectives and what they bring to the table.

If not here, then where? We will summarize the workshops that we saw over the weekend that were put on by our awesome presenters Master T'Hayla, Heather, IronTempleDog & Tormenta. We heard about body language in Rough Body Play, How to do pickup play, Creating Community for yourself, Masochism and Sadism and Fear Play. Every workshop was absolutely thought provoking and audience participation was excellent. We truly enjoyed each workshop. It was educational, informative and just plain fun.

Cypress is the Master to Rainbow who was on the show last week. This couple are both hosts on TPOK Radio. Cypress is a man who has really thought thru his kink. He knows what he wants. He stands by his convictions and goes about this business and doesn't worry about what others think. He's passionate and smart. He is also loyal to his chosen family and pack. Rainbow talked to a trans friend about their journey and the struggles and triumphs of being trans. It gave me the strength to make an important decision to not be worried about what others think and to know that dressing does not make me weak or any less than any other person out there. DM training is done with live demonstrations. Let's have a conversation. Overview of their course in San Fransisco: • There are only three reasons to interrupt a scene at the Citadel- immediate and clear danger to LIFE, LIMB, or CITADEL PROPERTY. Any other concerns- call a party host. •Remember that being a DM involves customer service! Always be polite & respectful. If it is possible to check with people before they start to play, as they are setting up (especially if it looks like something elaborate), please do so! Act as a facilitator. • Carefully monitor bystanders. Ensure that bystanders do not disrupt scenes with social conversations, by getting too close, etc. • You should be constantly moving through the dungeon during your shift. Especially “patrol” along the main bystander pathways to monitor conversation volume. • If you had any issues during your shift (including needing to interfere in an ongoing scene for ANY reason), notify the party host ASAP. • If you must interrupt a scene, do so in the least obtrusive way possible.

Queen Raini believes that kink should be fun and honest. Having a family has always been important to me. When I came into this lifestyle I realized that I could have a chosen family. This kinky family became my rock and the place I went to for council.
