Blind Low Vision NZ is committed to assisting blind, deafblind, and low vision Kiwis to live the lives they choose.That’s why, we host our Internship Programme, this one of a kind employment initiative provides talented Blind Low Vision NZ clients who have recently graduated from study with an opportunity to explore their academic areas of interests, develop new skills, and gain experience in a professional environment.The programme foundation is about helping graduates get their foot in the door for future employment opportunities elsewhere. Each year, we welcome a new cohort of interns into our offices where we learn as much (or more) from them as they do from us.One of our most recent interns is Kate Downing, and The Perspective Podcast is the result of her hard work as part of the Fundraising Team.Kate was born with Achromatopsia, meaning she has roughly 10% vision in each eye, perceiving everything in black and white.
