The Phillies not only enjoyed another late-inning comeback on Sunday in New York, but they moved within three games of the Braves in the NL East. The Phils were 9-19 and 10 ½ games behind the Braves on April 26, which was Rob Thomson’s final game as manager. FanGraphs gave the Phils just a 6.9 percent chance to win the division. Cristopher Sánchez on Wednesday passed Grover Cleveland Alexander for the longest scoreless innings streak by a Phillies pitcher since 1893. Sánchez’s streak of 44 ⅔ innings is the seventh-longest in MLB in the live-ball era (1920). It’s 11th in MLB in the modern era (1900).
