[00:00:17] Speaker C: And now, coming to you live from the JTT smoke shop in wild, wonderful south park is the Pipe Pricks Pipe Podcast. [00:00:30] Speaker A: Hello, my name is Matt. [00:00:32] Speaker C: Hello, my name is John and I'm. I'm the big prick. [00:00:36] Speaker A: And I'm the little prick. At least for now until he gets promoted. Until, like, I'm on pipe freaking training, apparently, according to John. [00:00:47] Speaker C: Yes. Well, you have many years to go. [00:00:50] Speaker A: So interesting story of how the pipe Bricks name came upon us. We were sitting here one Saturday morning and just like we are now, Sam, the fine owner of the shop, that I have to give you guys a nickname. And I said, how about the pipe studs? And John goes, how about the pipe brick? And. [00:01:10] Speaker C: And it stuck. [00:01:11] Speaker A: And it stuck. So here we are. And I'll let John give a little bit of his background because we're just doing a test recording and maybe our first episode. We'll see. [00:01:21] Speaker C: So I started smoking pipes roughly at the age of 17 when I told my dad I was going to smoke pipes because. And I'd never touched cigarettes because that's what killed my mother. So now, many years later, approximately 60 years later, I have about 60 years experience of smoking pipes. For many years I was going to the various pipe shows around the country. Chicago, I've been to the Vegas pipe show once. I am dedicated to Virginia pipe tobaccos. [00:01:59] Speaker A: And John is also a big fan of getting new people hooked on the pipe. So if you ever are interested, come up and visit us on a Saturday morning at Just the Tip Cigars in South park. And we'll be glad to help you get started or at least point you [00:02:15] Speaker C: in the right direction, tobacco wise. [00:02:16] Speaker A: Yep. [00:02:17] Speaker C: Because there are so many varieties of pipe tobacco that they have both here at the shop and that we both have in our personal stashes. And we go the whole gamut from Virginia's to[00:02:38] Speaker A: Latakia Aromatics here and there, not too often. [00:02:43] Speaker C: And between the two of us, we have what, about 80 years of pipe smoking experience? [00:02:48] Speaker A: Yeah. So I started my pipe journey in 1998, took a little bit of a hiatus for about 10, 15 years, but never stopped smoking the pipe. Just didn't smoke as often. But here we are. We meet every Saturday morning down here. The fourth month. Fourth Saturday of the month is the Washington Fitzpatrick Pipe Club association meeting here. They meet the second Tuesday of the month at another in Blahnock. So I think that's going to be it for our first episode.
