Bold New York (Westside Mix) by Anthony Cruze (2Green!) - My SC backyard!

In time for HALLOWEEN, everywhere! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original release of "Horror Movie" by Australian band "Skyhooks" (1974, Mushroom Records), this reimagined version of the classic #1 charted hit memorialises the late Graeme "Shirley" Strachan and acknowledges the original band members Greg Macainsh, Red Symons, Bob Starkie, and Imants Strauks. While the original version is about how the world has taken a turn for the worse with all of the chaos in society, to the point where watching the nightly TV news is like watching a horror movie, the song over the years has been picked up in the US and everywhere as a "halloween" song. Continuing with that tradition, here is a "hardcore hip hop" reinterpretation. Songwriter: Greg Macainsh Song/Music Video Producer, Editor, VFX, AI: Anthony Cruze

A number 1 hit for King Floyd in 1970, re-covered as a reggae track on the Blues Brothers soundtrack of 1978, and became a disco hit by Fern Kinney in 1979 topping at no.6 on the Billboard Charts, this 2024 cover from 2GreenDollars featuring Yom from Ruu Juus reimagines the track into a Funky House vibe. Out NOW! Everywhere!

The FIRST track from the latest album by 2Greendollars! "Be a dj be the real thing" takes a shot at fake bimbo Djs in a smooth boppy energetic mix. Enjoy! [Verse] She walks in with her shades on Big smile light so bright it blinds Decks and knobs she's playing with Not knowing what's going on [Verse 2] Mixtapes play she's lost in fame But girl those beats ain't yours Crowd is hyped they scream her name She's just part of the decor [Chorus] Be part of the music not the show Work the magic let it flow Not just lights and bling-bling Be a DJ be the real thing [Verse 3] Glorified with flashing lights But can you feel the crowd's vibe It's more than just a party sight It's about the groove and tribe [Bridge] Spin those records feel the beat Don't just pose and try to cheat Music's soul and rhythm heats Girl it's more than fancy feats [Chorus] Be part of the music not the show Work the magic let it flow Not just lights and bling-bling Be a DJ be the real thing!

This was the first and biggest Push for indie label "Digital Music Revolution", founded by Cruze, who at the time was DJ'ing at Roxbury and Glam Slam in LA, juggling his work with this indie production effort flying in and out of New York (via Moviemaker Music), Montreal Canada (Howard Foreman, The Groove Kings), LA, and Melbourne studio Power Plant in Carlton where DMR was based. This was the audio from the Master DAT track that was duplicated onto a CASSETTE "sampler" - SIDE A - sent to all radio, record companies, media, and VIP's at/after a huge launch party February 4th, 1994 at Glam Slam LA. (note, I believe this extracted track has had "house of red" content augmented in a later cassette release - circa 1997/8, when DMR changed its name to Opulent Music and got itself a label deal with PolyGram - will come back to verify this) The biggest inroad we made at the time was a prospect for sync on a new TV show coming out of WB called "Friends", making longtime friends with a high up exec from Disney Records, and forging a path for new music to be recorded and mastered at Princes' Paisley Park Studios in Minneapolis after Prince himself heard and loved the quality of music we were delivering. It was a hell of a lot harder to get a global audience and subsidised production with limited funds outside of a Major label, but along the way, each and every artist made it somewhere! Listen to collaborative efforts made by the finest indie talent circa 1994-98, who you probably never heard of! The Groove Kings, House Of Red (Sasi Shalom, Ann Marie, Steve Hass, Ben Butler), Lauren Kinhan, G-Tom Mac. Some tracks are available on Spotify etc. so please, do us a favour and "shazam" the track you like so we know where you're liking this! It may or may not come up - let us know if it doesn't! Thanks to all the artists back then who had faith in us producing, marketing and/or distributing these masterpieces. As you can hear, they are simply timeless! Celebrating 25 Years of Producing Music!

The prerelease to DJs (Updated June 2019). Feedback appreciated! Mixes and Music Video out Late July in all great music streams and stations worldwide.

Holly J. Simpson and I did a demo of this track in 2011 with Madeline Perrone. I had a flood of emails asking me to re-release. I can't re-release the demo - it sucked! So heres the remake!! Celebrating Pride Week and the landmark Marriage Equality being legal in all of the United States, I'm looking for a whole lot of videos of people "marrying" (gay/straight/zombie/dog/cat) for the music video. Post me links to yours?!! Track is out on all good services from Monday June 29, Including itunes Music!! (when it launches July 1st)

Produced and Digitally Mixed from the ground up by yours truly, back in the early 90's using an ADAP II DE Rack by Hybrid Arts/Atari (yes, Atari made professional devices in the early 90's) :) First Released on PDJ (12" Vinyl) This is part 1 of 2 parts. Enjoy!

This is my 70th post on soundcloud. Taking you back to my first ever remix, first remixed on analog 4 track tape in 1985 in my makeshift bedroom "studio". This is WAY not perfect, but I had the album gifted to me Christmas 1976 and it inspired me to music as I was being constantly bullied at school for being a loner. In hindsight, probably saved my life back then. Its the kind of song I go back to and revisit now and then to remind me of how far ive come in my career! Embarrassing? yes! who cares though. Music was, and still is, my therapy. Yep, drum track isn't perfect, but each sound you hear had to be "triggered" back in 1985 using something new called MIDI!! I don't think Daryl Somers liked this track. He never really wanted to re-release it. So here it is for your listening "pleasure?!" Original Song Written and Produced by Daryl Somers and Ernie Carrol. Song Tracking: Bruce Adderley & Murray Tregonning Arranger and Musical Director: Doug Trevor and the Margot Sheridan Junior Chorus Recorded at Bruce Adderley Sound Studios.

This is the soundtrack taken from the official episode 2 release of "vdomixx" www.vdomixx.com Video is coming shortly on the website...here is a sneak peek (or listen!) Im so sorry ep2 is late. Had to set songs to be exactly 1 minute each and mixing varied genres of songs and watching the time was a b__ch! This was the hardest mix i've ever done due to the constraints, so I hope you enjoy! 2GD

Part 1 - raw audio only - pre release preview to 5 min video on vdomixx.com website.

This was the remix on 12" vinyl of Peter Andre's Funky Junky/Gimme Little Sign Megamix that I produced back in the 90's. Might sound a bit dated these days but back then this vinyl sold out. There were two pressings - one with a white label, one with official mushroom livery.

Love Her Madly - unreleased track from my album "Cover Note- Recovered" - this track didn't make the cut and was left out of the release. what do you think?

Heres a bit of nostalgia for Janet J fans - This was the bridge piece I produced between remix versions of "because of love" by Janet Jackson - remixed by yours truly (as "Anthony Cruze"). Released on vinyl - ozzmixx circa 1994. Yours to listen to in its rawness. Back then that was 4 turntable live mixing and recorded digitally onto the ADAP II..it took weeks to perfect! :)
