In this video, I explain why Netanyahu & Rubio may have just checkmated Vance’s Iran plan.I am not pretending to be happy with the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire framework brokered by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The deal assumes Lebanon will disarm Hezbollah, even though Hezbollah is deeply embedded inside Lebanon’s political, military, and security systems. That is not strategy. That is fantasy.But here is the irony: because Israel reportedly only withdraws from southern Lebanon after Hezbollah is fully disarmed, Israel now has justification to remain there indefinitely. Since Hezbollah will not voluntarily disarm, and Lebanon will never dismantle it, this creates the foundation for a permanent Israeli security zone in southern Lebanon, with the approval of Lebanon and the international community. That is a huge coup for Prime Minister Netanyahu.That matters strategically.One of the most dangerous aspects of VP Vance’s Iran approach was linking Hezbollah’s actions in Lebanon to broader negotiations with Tehran. That would have allowed Iran to use Hezbollah as a diplomatic shield: Hezbollah attacks Israel, Israel responds, and Washington pressures Israel to stop in order to protect Iran talks.Rubio’s framework separates Lebanon from Iran, taking that leverage away from Iran and Hezbollah.Still, the greatest failure was not diplomatic. It was military. Israel should have liberated southern Lebanon up to at least the Litani River, which even David Ben-Gurion back in the 1920s expressed as the most optimal Northern border for Israel, pushing Hezbollah away from our northern communities and our soldiers. Our heroic IDF fighters were ready, but the senior command failed to capitalize on the opportunity.Meanwhile, Hamas must still be destroyed in Gaza, jihadis still remain in Gaza who must emigrate, Iran remains the primary strategic threat, and Sunni jihadist powers like Turkey and Qatar are positioning themselves to fill the vacuum.This war is far from over. Israel must build permanent strategic realities: security zones, sovereignty, resettlement, strategic depth, total victory over Hamas, and a nuclear-free Iran.Netanyahu is leading through impossible pressure. President Trump has announced another potential deal with Iran, and many people are already reacting with fear, anger, or excitement.My message is simple: Don't panic.Some people misunderstand me. They assume that when I say not to panic, I mean the deal will never happen. That is not what I am saying. I have no idea whether it will happen or not. What I do know is that no agreement will change the fundamental nature of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The regime's jihadi ambitions, its hatred of Israel or the USA, and its desire to spread its jihad throughout the world are not going away because of signatures on a piece of paper.The real lesson is that we must stop placing our faith in human leaders.Whether Trump succeeds or fails, whether a deal is signed or not, the Jewish nation must place its faith in God alone. At the same time, we must continue doing what is necessary to ensure that the evil Islamic Republic of Iran can never again threaten Israel, the free world, or even its own suffering citizens.Jihadi Islam remains the greatest threat to civilization. No agreement signed in Washington changes that reality.More important than any announcement coming out of Washington was the recent declaration by Israel's Defense Minister. He made it clear that Israel will not withdraw from its security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, that the IDF will continue defending Israel from forward positions, and that Gaza's jihadi infrastructure must be dismantled. He also spoke about advancing migration from Gaza and rebuilding Jewish communities in northern Gaza.That is the news people should be paying attention to.It signals that Israel is continuing to move forward with the lessons of October 7th. It signals that Israel understands that security is achieved through strength, presence, and control—not wishful thinking.The next step must be even clearer: applying Israeli sovereignty to every area liberated from our jihadi enemies. The other day, I experienced one of those moments that reminds me just how blessed we are to be living in these historic times.I found myself dancing with a 92-year-old veteran resident of Kibbutz Nahal Oz during the first ever Torah scroll dedication ceremony for the kibbutz.Think about that for a moment.Nahal Oz never had a synagogue. Yet after the horrors of October 7th, something awakened. Kibbutz residents who experienced the unimaginable on Oct. 7th, with family and friends massacred and kidnapped into Gaza, felt a deeper connection to their Jewish identity, heritage, and roots. They asked for a Torah scroll to be brought into their community.For decades, many believed that modern Israel could thrive disconnected from its Jewish soul. But tragedy has a way of stripping away illusions and forcing us to rediscover what truly gives us strength.Standing there, dancing with Jews from all backgrounds around a Torah scroll in a kibbutz that never had one before, I couldn't help but feel that we were witnessing something much bigger than ourselves.This is not just a Torah scroll entering a kibbutz.
