Didn’t think Ohio State was capable of doing what they did to Clemson in the National Semifinal game. Surprised that Ohio State showed such greatness not because of a lack of talent but because of how little games they played together this season. Ohio State has the ability to go toe to toe with Alabama 

 Anybody who said the Seahawks shouldn’t have gotten upset in the playoffs by the Rams wasn’t watching closely enough. The Seahawks defense all season has not lived up to their potential. Their offense didn’t make the proper adjustments yesterday either.

Deshaun Watson shouldn’t be going anywhere despite reports being that he is not happy right now in Houston. Too many instances we hear the term “anonymous sources”. Watson’s only goal is to win the Lombardi trophy.

Kevin Stefanski is truly underrated as a Head Coach. The Cleveland Browns have absolutely lived up to their potential compared to in years past where it has been anything but. Stefanski has showed his strong ability to call plays. The Steelers look like the team to pick in this one.

CBSSports.com NFL reporter joined Sean to discuss what to make of multiple NFL players airing out their concerns with the NFL's safety protocols on social media, what the chances are that training camps start on time, if Dak Prescott taking the Kirk Cousins franchise tag path is the smart move and if the Derrick Henry contract was a good deal for both sides. 

Former Marlins president and CBS Sports HQ analyst joined Sean to discuss the NFL players voicing their frustration with the safety protocols that have been put in place, if MLB will be able to finish their season, if he's surprised more players haven't opted out and if there's any aspect of baseball that he misses.  

 It seems like there is a lot of self preservation when it comes to teams and conferences being on the football field this year in college football. It's really important for teams to be on the same page with one another. There is not you can control during this pandemic but you can control 10/12 or 14 members at the table, that comes down to the college conferences themselves.

The goal for MLB is you want to have zero positive tests. That will be a good sign for baseball. It will have to be an absolute massive outbreak for baseball to shut down completely. Having said that, you don't want one player being reckless because that ruins everyone's fun this summer and potentially fall.

Things will most likely get delayed when it comes to starting the season in the NFL. They have had a long time to watch other sports, but they haven't been as buttoned up as they could be when it comes to returning. There is so much uncertainty in terms of coming back for the NFL. It was really important  they came to a labor agreement right before the Pandemic hit and they did!

Grant states that it is encouraging that so many MLB players do want to see the field. There are not as many positive tests as Grant would have assumed. Big picture for the game and beyond that is a good thing. People should be excited and happy that there hasn't been a lot of momentum in the outcry to not play. Washington D.C. is so excited for the Nationals 

Jason discusses regarding the Redskins, It's not that hard to change your uniform and helmets, but the name is harder. When FedEx comes in and says change the name and Nike doesn't want to deal with the name, that is the time for the Redskins to really take notice about their name. This has become a huge money issue. That is why Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder needed to act. This won't impact their in season performance; the teams also need to focus on their health.  

Steve believes that the only thing that matters right now when it comes to the NBA is how good each team is NOW. The Pelicans have a far worse record than the Jazz, but they are better than the Jazz right now. The Pelicans have a very easy schedule and therefore may very well claw their way into the playoffs. A team like the Blazers, Steve doesn’t like their chances all that much. The Patriots obviously got better with new addition Cam Newton

Each region has been impacted by Covid-19 differently. College football right now is littered with teams and schools that have had Covid-19 breakouts before the season. It’s important to isolate them, but so many of these players are testing positive in different places. It illustrates how difficult this is going to be to have a season. Football is such a high intensity sport with a locker room with so many guys. This will not be easy.

With a short season there is much more of a chance of randomness in terms of getting into the playoffs. There will be teams that have no shot at getting in the playoffs had it been 162 games, but with a 60 game regular season, depth doesn’t matter nearly as much nor will the strength of a farm system matter as much. This 60 game schedule will be a lot of fun. The Blue Jays feel like they are going to take a step up. We are also going to see the last of pitchers hitting.

The NFL had put out a mandate to not have these multi-person workouts. Nobody should be getting special treatment. The NFL at the end of the day wants to make sure they get their players on the field. Without fans in the stands, the NFL knew there would never be 100% capacity at this point. We knew this in as early as March we would not have had full stadiums in the fall. The states that say they would have had full capacity are the ones that are experiencing Covid-19 the worst right now

John discusses how the NFL is actually so much easier to operate when it comes to the Coronavirus compared to college football because of the amount of teams. We know that a lot of the NFL young guys have been already practicing together and have been out in social settings. There will be a lot of NFL players contracting this. The NFL realizes how much money is at stake if the season were to truly not happen. TV ratings would be record breaking for the NFL because of all the fans that will be watching who won’t be at the game. Why not put ads in the seats? 

Nick points out that we saw how important a good quarterback is in the NFL when the Lions lost Matthew Stafford. The Cowboys are a trademark franchise in the NFL, you can’t have an average QB or backup QB situation in Dallas. By not signing Dak Prescott long term you leave that to chance. Dak signing the Tender this weekend doesn't seem like the worst idea. We know that Pat Mahomes is going to reset the market so it’s important for the Cowboys to get the deal gets done sooner than later with Dak.
