In this episode we start looking more closely at the Christus Victor paradigm of atonement. More specifically, we begin to investigate Jesus's claim that his death would be a "ransom" and what that might mean in terms of atonement.

As we continue our overall project of constructing "A Christian Theology," we're beginning a new mini-series on the doctrine of the atonement. In this episode we introduce the topic and discuss a helpful framework for organizing the different atonement theories.

After the recent flurry of debate regarding women preaching in the church, our friend and loyal listener Austin Burgard asked if he could share the story of his journey from complementariansim to egalitarianism.
