Graham Platner is now the official Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in the great state of Maine! Many other great progressives prevailed in their primaries and are marching towards victory in November but there is work that must be done.  We'll talk about it as we always do on The Solidarity Effect. 47 and the Republicans refuse to extend the ACA subsidies and eliminate the Medicaid cuts in the "One Big Beautiful" POS and causes a federal government shutdown. Thankfully, unions are pushing back!  Also, in this episode, 47 and his Secretary of War tells our military generals that U.S. cities should be used as "training grounds". Does this violate the Posse Comitatus Act? We'll discuss! We close it out discussing the assaults on our 1st amendment rights. It's a long one, folks, but so very important! Conservative influencer and founder of Turning Points, USA, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated in Utah during a college campus public speaking event. A barbaric act of political violence that threatens our First Amendment right to free speech. This. Must. Stop.

Labor Day 2025...a day to celebrate the toils of the working class and to relax with family and friends.  There are rays of hope on the political landscape, coming from none other than the great state of Iowa! A state senate district that went 11.5 points for 47 was flipped back by a 10 point margin to a Democrat. Is this the spark that is needed to balance the power back to the working class? The MAGA coalition is showing signs of cracking as 47 ponders the idea of entering the Israel-Iran shootout and the Illinois Drivers Alliance pushes for union rights for 100,000 Uber and Lyft drivers in Illinois. An interesting perspective on the lopsided tax code from Scott Galloway and the Dems continue to show weakness and indifference to 47's march towards another U.S. involvement in the Middle East.  Enjoy!

The assault on the working class and union have accelerated since Inauguration Day with FMCS slated for elimination, contracts being cancelled for the TSA workers, Social Security in the crosshairs from 47 and his minion, Elon Musk.  The markets are tanking and insanity is planting a foothold in our government. The dismantling of the national NLRB through an unjustified termination of Gwen Wilcox is the beginning of a slaughtering of working class rights.  We are also talking tariffs, in particular, the negative impact of tariffs against one of our biggest trading partners, Canada.  The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has invaded all aspects of government departments, including Social Security. The devastation of 47's second term is upon us and he wasted no time wreaking havoc through Executive Orders.  The DNC is in disarray and it appears they learned a whole lotta NOTHING from their epic defeat in November 2024.  We're also reviewing Project 2025 and its integration into the Executive Orders.
