Bad Genes Month is still growing with another human / plant combo in the form of this early comic book movie adaptation of #DC's #SwampThing. This is directed by Wes Craven. We talk about the films strong opening, the surprise nudity for a PG film and that Swamp Thing costume.

We continue to travel down the DNA of films about human genes combining with other things. This time we dig into the mad scientist film "The Mutations" starring Donald Pleasence and Tom Baker. We talk about the death of this sub genre, the performances of the bigger named stars and just how much it borrows from "Todd Browning's Freaks".

In this "Animation Nation" special, Mark and Ian talk about the 1988 anime classic, "Akira". They discuss the artistic talent behind the film, the multiple story lines, and why this is still talked about today. It is yet another Disney animated film that is not discussed enough. Maybe it was the timing of when it came out, maybe it is something Disney didn't have confidence in.
